Hersbrucker Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 ... better than my parking lot backgrounds. Great build! Myabe you can put some white papers around your MOC by photographing?
Balthasar Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 @ Hersbrucker, are you really abandoning the werewolf army like you wrote in your Challenge 3 thread? And if yes, what are you going to do next?
Hersbrucker Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 @Balthasar I don't know yet, I will see what is the next challenge and I will decide my Figures maybe than.
Tazmaniac Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Ok I've updated the first scene with this..better/worse? Click the image and join the discussion...
Legonardo Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Taz that's replacing the black tower right? it is IMO a great improvement, I love your stonework. you must have a lot of 1 x 2 plates...

de Gothia Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 TAz: that´s just great! Love the stonework, look very medieval! Is it sturdy?
Tazmaniac Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 TAz: that´s just great! Love the stonework, look very medieval! Is it sturdy? I've been wanting to build this for a while (or something big with this technique). Yes there is a grey wall behind it and that's what I've attached the battlements to, by placing tiles on the top row there is no need to get the studs lined up but still sits nice and flush , giving the appearance that they are connected. So stability is not really an issue, the tower on the other hand you might notice is a fair bit tighter than ones built with 1x1 round bricks and 1x2 bricks technique due to the fact the plates are at too great an angle to place the studs along side them. There for they are only connected in a couple of places and the majority of the plates are just resting on the corner of the one diagonally below.....if that makes sense...surprisingly sturdy once complete though. snip In short yes it holds quite well.
I Scream Clone Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 Looks like a much better lead in pick to start the story, well done, it's a behemoth! You want to be guild leader while I am busy
Derfel Cadarn Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I love the fact that Taz has invented his own excellent stone wall style, looks great A very strong Nocturnus Entry! I must admit, If I wasn't in Avalonia I would be building in Nocturnus, just love the creepy gothic vibe at the mo. However, those pesky Drow have overstepping the line again recently, so Avalonia may have to send over an extermination squad to put them back in their place! What we need is some giant spiders/with riders!
Angeli Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 My fellow guildsman, What do you think, what would be the cheapest way of buying larger quantities for leaves? Color is not important :) If you would say directly from Lego, I would ask for numbers ;) If you say bricklink, I've check, the cheapest seller with large quantities has the price of 0.19e/ piece. It is too much, for, let's say 1000 pieces. If you would say PaB (personally I can't think of a better idea), I would like to know how much leaves of this kind can fit in one cup and in which shops there are supplies of the, anywhere in the world :) Hey :) Thank you ;)

I have seen them at the store's PaB wall, back in early 2011 or so. I bought quite a few of them, but unfortunately don't know how many I was able to fit in. I'm guessing that you could probably fit between 100 and 150 of them in a large cup. In the US, large cups are $15, so that's $0.10 to $0.15 each. Definitely cheaper than BrickLink, but not by much. Haven't seen them in the PaB wall since then however. So unless someone spots them in a store somewhere near you, or is willing to buy them for you and ship them, it might be better to use BrickLink. Try posting in this thread and asking if anyone has seen them in their local store.
Si-MOCs Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Friends of Nocturnus! A most heinous crime has been committed! The great treasure of the Flagg Family has been taken! This shall not stand! I stand here before you all and give the most serious of warnings: DO NOT Build any more MOCs that prominently depict the demise of these delicious Ferrero Rochers DO NOT Show what has happened to my precious Rocher DO NOT Build this before May 14th DO NOT Encourage others by voting on May 15 for your favourite despicable display of desert debauchery DO NOT Post entries in this thread DO NOT Expect to win a special prize for your evilness YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Angeli Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I feel some reversed psychology here ;) Do you think it will work on Drow? ...ok, it will work :)) It's a pity I used all gold I have on rooftops for challenge 3 :) Btw, the days are just disappearing, even those 12+ days wont be enough :) megamegablokssss (<--literary:)):)
Jareth Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I Finished building for Chapter 3 of the third challenge, but I don't have time to post it today. Probably not tomorrow either. Thursday, almost definetelly yes. Anyway, here's a sneak peak enjoy!

Angeli Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 things are a little quiet ;) Defences should be ready, something's cooking in other guilds, we can feel it
Hersbrucker Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 After the weekend I'm back, but at this time I'm pretty busy
Balthasar Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 things are a little quiet ;) Defences should be ready, something's cooking in other guilds, we can feel it Ah, you notice it too. I thought that I was checking the forum to often. It feels like the calm before the storm. Any reports from your spies? They must be either searching for a crystal or planning an attack on Nocturnus... Or they are mostly chatting on a secret forum like we do
Tazmaniac Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Yep it's quiet alright.....but it might be nothing? it seems pretty quiet every where not just in the guilds.
Hyler Talliwell Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Hey all, I just wanted to say that due to a huge build I am making for Brickworld, I most likely will not be competing in round 3. I will try to find the time to build for it, and have some of that time today, but whatever I do will not be my best work. Sorry, my fellow evildoers.
Captain BeerBeard Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Ah, you notice it too. I thought that I was checking the forum to often. It feels like the calm before the storm. Any reports from your spies? They must be either searching for a crystal or planning an attack on Nocturnus... Or they are mostly chatting on a secret forum like we do We use owl, not interweb. Hahamuhaha!
Dr Rod Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Hi fellow Nocturnites, I have been rather busy as one of the organisers of the Sydney Brick Show that is on in 5 weeks!! Got three builds on the burner for that, but come the 3rd June I have 4 weeks set aside for a free build for Nocturnus, that will be shown at BrickExpo in Canberra. Dr Rod's spies report that there has been a strange lack of chickens in Mitgardia, rumours are they have all headed to Avalonia Oleg, DrRod
