The Dragon flight is preparing which will consist of 200 mounted heavy horsemen, accompanyed by 600 prime spearmen, 200 archers and 200 swordsmen. Hopefully more if my bank balance allows

Oh my... and I thought Mesdraconem had amassed a large army...

It's only a wishlist! I would never buy that many figures, I would have to build a bloody big landscape to display them properly!

I've just multiplied them for show.

My real number is 50 spearmen, 50 horsemen, 30 archers and 20 swordsmen. They still look impressive though :classic:

Bummer...

But way more realistic :D

The first thing I thought was: daaaaaamn that would cost him around 5000 Dollar!!!!

By the way, same remark as I did in the topic of de Gothia: we agreed that we won't use multiplication when describing our army-size :classic:

So if you put numbers in a post, you have to be able to prove that :classic:

Oops my bad. I remember reading something about multiplying, but didn't know the idea was binned.

Well let's forget those large numbers then, I'm no way gonna spend that much on figs! Just having 40 dark pearl gray armored and visored knights cost a small fortune in itself!

50 armored and visored minifigknights are still an epic sight :classic:

Then Mesodraconem can still bring the pain. I should count them up.

Guessing here... my army consists of

1. Light Calvary (20-30)

2. Foot Soldiers (70-100?)

3. "Drake Commanders" (20-25)

4. Pikemen (10-15)

5. Archers (40-50)

6. Tower Guard (20-25)

7. Some hero type figs (5-6)

And then the new recruits....

8. Lost Stag Clan (20-25)

9. Wolfpack (10-15)

Nice! That will be impressive. That's the good thing about the Kingdoms green dragon figs, their still pretty cheap and easy to get. Although I'm trying to build up a force of visored knights with dark green armor, it's pricey :cry_sad:

I'm hoping the dragon knights in the chess set are of decent quality. Maybe we should move army talk to the Avalonian thread though

Bah :) At the moment, Drow have about 50 humans, 50 celestials, 50 thralls of all kinds of monsters and 50 Drow warriors :)

I was never big on minifigs :)

BUT! Yvonnel is going tonight to the exhibition where more then 1000 minifigs will be displayed - 40 ships, all armored and ready for fighting; this faraway land is really far, and we will float the cloud with Elesee-Luna for show there, and chances are good that we will put them in for our cause ;) I will take some pictures ;)

And I would like to see more moc about skirmishes on the border ;)

And someone bring me the head of our guildleader! We are doubling the bounty!

;)

You will never take his head, if you did, not just Avalonia but all the guilds would engage you in war, as the high King would command it! You are treading a thin line Drow! I know you crave power and you would love to rule Nocturnus, but it will never happen, Historica will not allow it.

Do not be fooled, 50 of our finest spearman are more then enough to hold the Vale pass.

If the Drow decide to send an army, my men will be able to slow them down long enough till reinforcements arrive.

We are not warmongering, we are just preparing. If something big happens and our lands are threatened then at least we will have a large force ready.

So yes, we will be ready!

Artorious,

Beneath the misty veil, this army you speak of... It truly does reside in the Faerie Forest. default_devg1.gif

There are only several differences. 15 war elephants, 45 chariots, and a large number of powerful magical beasties from Giant Scorpians to Crystal Dragons.

For now, only Siercon has come to the battlefront. If things change, or anyone attacks the Faerie Forest on the Mystic Isles... They should be prepared to face more than a thousand warriors with hundreds of mighty heroes.

(before the inevitable observation... no we did not spend a fortune on them, over time we've just gotten really lucky, and have steadily built and saved :)

Can someone explain these skirmishes between the drow and avalonia? I haven't been following much recently. (are the drow the same as nocturnians?)

Not really:

Small resume:

The Drow rebelled against the current leader of Nocturnus. Most Nocturnians have joined the Drow.

Avalonia supports the current leader, so they declared war on the Drow and sent some troops to the borders of Nocturnus.

Now the Avalonians and the Drow are fighting some battles.

Also the Drow declared war on Mitgardia by sending troops to raid their villages.

The only Guild where there is still peace is Kaliphlin as we stay neutral in this conflict (because we are traders)

About the rebellion in Nocturnus: at this moment, nobody can call himself a winner. Neverthless some big events will happen in the next days :classic:

I thought most Nocturnians were still loyal to the current leader  And I didn't know that the Drow sent raiding parties to Mitgardia.

The whole thing has been rather full of rumors though so it is hard to keep track of what is actually happening :hmpf:

There are only 2 Nocturnians who stayed loyal to their leader: Hyler and Tazmaniac :classic:

All other Nocturnians I know or don't care or support the Drow :classic:

Artorius Rex is to early to claim victory...

Well, it are not really Drows who are in Mitgardia, but groups related to the Drow... Most of them are even attacking from Avalonia into Mitgardia.

For most it are all rumours. But some know the real facts :classic:

The drow look like scumbags.

To all those Nocturnians who have remained loyal, you shall be rewarded and we will do all we can to send you fresh supply's of whatever you need. You are always welcome in Avalonia!

To those who have turned against your lord, shame on you! What will you gain from this? Do you realize in the eyes of the High King you are traitors!

You should reconsider your actions. Support your true lord and help put an end to this rebellion! A land divided is a land in in serious trouble. You must stand united as one. How will you defend your land if you are fighting each other? You must put an end to this madness!

Just a note - and I have not read the post yet, but force multiplying makes sense for the smaller collectors out there. I don't think it is fair that Eastgate can't be conquered because I physically own about 2000 soldiers, and almost nobody else can muster that amount. Besides, in each MOC and battle men die, we recruit more, they are represented by the same figs in later battles. (heck they may even be wearing the same dented armor!)

I have a feeling that this is the reason why Historica was not about war to begin with... I would hate for some people to feel left out because they only have 15 or 25 minifigs.

In my opinion a war can be fun for any builder. Someone with a few soldiers cand build smaller raids and skirmishes making detailed scenes but with only a few figs. On the other hand if you have lots and lots of soldiers you could make a huge battle on undetailed landscape. To be honest I would really like to see a huge moc battle between 2 armies and I would also like to see smaller war-based mocs. Hell, I might join the war as well! :P

That is just the point...

Nocturnus needs a powerful leader, not a leader that needs assistance from other Guilds...

Nocturnians love power, that's a fact, so they need someone who they never will rebel against :classic:

2000?????????????

Indeed, that is an army we all only can dream of

But strange but true, when joining a Guild, a member always choose a role related to the seize of his army. Those who have not that many warriors became assassins, traders, famous craftsmen, ...

Those with bigger armies, became citylords :classic:

2000 men is just (like the army Siercon & Coral can assemble) something very unique for a Lego Army (even in the piratesworld, scifi world, ...) . So we better don't keep your army in mind when discussing something like this :classic:

But please read the discussion :classic:

The Werewolves defend her own land, they don't care much about others.

We fight for our own welfare and choose the side who provides the best result for us

I wonder if you understand the ethical attitude from us Nocturnians. It is in our nature, that we can't subordinate long to a leader
