Great stuff guys. I am quite jealous not even having 1 black skeletorse, let alone 3!

What two great towers

That will push Nocturnus

This is nothing yet, my friendly evil-doers ;) Drow are just starting to expand; our blacksmiths are working with full throttle, and we will rule the world!

Btw, there are pictures of the blacksmith house, but we will wait for the next challenge, and then post it, if it fits (or if it not, but why not take few points:)

NEXT CHALLENGE! NEXT CHALLENGE! :) The Drow queen is on a Christmas days off, so she has time to order building of new stuff (it feels quite strange to talk from girls gender, you should know that I am hers male herald:))))))

Wdit: and pelase, erase "max 32x32 baseplate" rule, why should we be limited with that? :)

Yes, we're kind of anxious here too, I thought I'd come here today and see Round 2 topic already on!!!!

Well, I will relax, have a beer and a smoke, and than I'll come back to see later.

I kind of lost my horizon the last days wondering what to build, that's why I want Round II so bad!!!!

Sorry I missed the Challenge, I had trouble posting pictures.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I no longer have internet access at home. It's been almost 2 weeks since I was able to check this thread. There have been some really neat things posted. Unfortunately I will likely not be able to participate for a while. :cry_sad: I just figured I would let everyone know rather that merely disappearing for a while. At this point I have no idea how long it will be before I can rejoin the fun.

Wishing you a speedy return to the interwebs!

My watchtower was finnished yesterday, but I forgot to anounce it here...

Anyway, Moorlight tower lies somewhere in the eastern Moruth, it is called so because of the uncanny glow that radiates from the local flora, many souls were swallowed by the swamp and on theire graves, the ghosttorn grows...

Come and visit my tower, the Warlocks are always eager to welcome a weary traveller

Grand Warlock Gza'ar

Greetings fellow Nocturnians.

So the tower is made, what now? I am starting a small trading scene then onto making Dr Rod's main lair. I think I am going to make it in sections, post a section every month or so and slowly bring the whole scene together. A question for our guild leader; if I make a MOC and post it, can I then enter it later is a challenge is started that it would be suited to??

I would like Nocturnus to also get a map finalised (like Thrash's ) that we can start adding the location of our MOCS onto. Dr Rod lives in the northern reaches of the Rakath mountains, close to the border with Mitgardia and a day or so march from the coast.

What are other people making or planning?

Oleg,

Dr Rod

My Werewolves are situated in the south-east of the Darklands at the coast.

I working on a complete Camp with my Story

Hope I can connect the next challenge with my landscape, like the Watchtower.

Great job on the watchtowers guys  Judging will happen over the Christmas break and then its on to round 2! In the meantime keep the extra builds coming, lets flesh out Nocturnus as a region.

Currently my people are in shambles. A young war chieften has risen up against our king, threatening to tear our country apart. This civil war is undoubtedly Mitgardian in origin, but currently no proof has been found that proves their involvement. For the momement, Tra'pek cannot help the Nocturnian guild, buthopefully we will able to as we...."maintain" our rebellious brethren.

I will be sending two expeditions from my base of operations in Eastern Moruth. One of them will have an asignement to clear a path through the swamp and reach the eastern coast where I plan to build a port so we could launch an attack trade more easily with the other guilds. The other expedition will head toward the central regions of the swamp to explore the old ruins found there and see if they could find something of value to us.

Grand Warlock Gza'ar bids you happy holydays

Sooooo... Since we're doing nothing at the moment, how about we try to build our own capitol like the Avalonians are doing? Or at least make plans?...

First, we should name the capitol and after that make a list of all the crucial buildings one realm of darkness must possess, like a:

-temple to an evil deity,

-graveyard,

-alchemists lab,

-summoning grounds,

-bestiary,

-dungeons

...

and some more common buildings,

-keep,

-barracks,

-housholds...

What say ye?

Normaly I like this idea, but I think we Nocturnians are to different, as we have a main capitol like this in Avalonia.

Our Guild consists of different creatures, and each from us has different lifestyles.

I think this is more interesting, that each of us build his own housing.

And I think, with the challenges, each from us has at the end his own Town, Castle, whatever.

Just my 2 cent

Greetings, my black hearted friends!

I've been noticing that, though our hosts are full of great builders and war chiefs, we couldn't yet figure out some of the issues that most Guilds are in advanced negotiation in this very moment.

The first thing should be the territorial division. Our supreme and most beloved leader will surely let we, his humble followers, to settle wherever no one has done up to the frontiers of Great Nocturnia! Still, we haven't yet came up with a definitive version of our land's map, and some confusion might happen over sharing the territory.

I understand that most of our brave black-hearted guildsmen may be the kind of people no one really wants as neighbors, and more: some of us might want some privacy to perform whatever we want to (dark rituals, summoning, sacrifices, all those creepy things that we love to do).

I would like to do a proposition for our leader and guildsmen: As Nocturnians affiliates are few - though their powers and possibilities are much higher than the other unpalatable guilds - we could share the land, instead of just adding the Landmarks on the Map.

What's the nature of my proposal? Well, though we might expect more new nocturnians adding on as Historica develops, the core of Politics on Nocturnia should start now!

I think we should share the land into smaller units, and then set each Nocturnian Affiliate as a land-manager under the leadership of Lord Ssilyrrlith.

I think that this is a nice way to redistribute land and rule better our territory. I was looking at our members - entries - and also their towers, and we are pretty distant from each other - but gotta say anyway that Mitgardian frontiers are well populated, and even well observed, by land or by water. So, it will be harder for us to control such a large territory with just a few noblemen, as the cities would be very far from each other. Inbetween, there will be plenty of space for a western invasion. Sharing the land into smaller countries - all of them united under Nocturnian flags - will give the affiliates the possibilitie of keeping themselves the control of the territory with a more accurate sense of defensorship.

I find this way nice too So there are 'middle instances', and for example, If I am designated as land-manager of the section X, if someone who enters Historica late wishes to dwell in my lands, he will ask me, and than I will designate him a build that is necessary on these specific lands, for him to earn the right to settle there.

Offcourse, something will be necessary for you to earn the right to be a Land-Manager (we can find a more suitable word). Lor Ssilyrrlith could maybe assign some smaller missions, but first one anyway should be 'do a Keep, a trade center and any kind of workshop". As our leader has good interpretation of our land, he could assign missions thinking about our Guild development and also, we gotta use what we have, so, if it's hard to farm here in this poor soil, maybe we could raise something more interesting, as worms, assassin vines and stuff.

Another suggestion of mine that follows the distribution it's to start right now the building of the great Nocturnian wall. I do now that the mountains are a nice geological defensive strucuture, but we can't expect the beasts and the giants to hold on in case of a serious invasion. Each land-manager will be much more able to build our defenses in the south, north and west, if we have a more steady control on the land. Also, the provincial countries who doesn't need to build the wall, could help anothers to pay for this big and expensive labour, sending workers or resources such as stones, tools and metal.

Also, Lord Malvadex will soon open the First Church of Nocturnia - the first as I suppose - devoted to the powerful Beast Gods that dwells in the outer worlds. Soon we shall have a place to pray for protection and strenghten our weapons with bestial power! [but I'll just have it finished by January]

I agree we need to get the map fleshed out with locations of our towers, other landmarks. The idea of each guild member getting some land is good, I've always figured Dr Rod has an area of the Rakath Mountains, a day or so march from the coast near the northern border with Mitgardia. It makes sense as he is human and would probably not venture too far within Nocturnus ;)

In the region around Dr Rod lives some dwarves and I will be making a scene with them soon.

I stole Thrash's map and edited on the area I am "claiming".

I am working on a trading scene and the dwarven scene. Ultimately all the smaller scenes will come together as one 6x4 32baseplate scene.

I agree with most of the stuff Lord Cij braught up, we should finally settle where does each of the lords reside and where are the borders to his/her domain.

Next, each of us should realy build some households for the troops and some workshop, maybe a market, a tavern... I will build a port town (the most wretched hive of scum and villainy) on the eastern coastline (as it remains unclaimed and therefore unguarded) and incorporate some of the new buildings into it.

What we should also do is see what resources each of us possesses and trade umongst ourselves.

For instance since my base is in Moruth I can suply the rest of the realm with wood, rope, precious herbs, but I need metals for example.

Further, I don't think we realy need a wall, since the Kel'ra labyrinth protects the pass through the Rakath mountains and I guess they are pretty uncrossable elsewhere... And on those places where the mountains can be crossed I guess we placed watchtowers

And finally, The Warlocks cheer for Lord Malvadex and will support his religious cause! As soon as the church to the Outer Gods is finnished, we will follow and build a shrine in theire name, so the followers in Moorlight would have a place of worship.

I personally don't like the idea of dividing up the land. It means we put limits on what environment our buildings are in. Fine if you only want to build coastal or mountain scenes, but I'd like to do a few different things, and don't really want to choose a specific area where my character "lives" and owns land. I'd like to view my character as an agent or general type who answers to Lord S (can never remember the spelling) and delegates down the line to other characters I've made, some of which might be stationed somewhere for a time. So I will be building structures based in the mountains, swamp, coast, forest, labyrinth, wasteland, underground... I might build for my character more than one living location, depending on where his work is assigned.

Does that sound reasonable? I think both approaches can work at once.

I think so to.

We're not warring umongst ourselves, each of us could travel across the lands of others, you could always visit good ol' Dr Rod in the mountains, The Werewolves in the southern coast or The Warlocks in the eastern swamp. And, as a general, you could build and man garrisons to reinforce the local rule, or, as an agent you could travel the realm in search of spies or carry important documents or informations (like Bono and Luncheon  ).

My plan is to eventually build Abyssian in the Moruth swamplands, but a few smaller scenes will probably happen first. I love the ideas and will have a good read tonight and comment more then. I think the capital city is not really for Nocturnus, rather the defining of areas and fortifications/settlements will better define our land.

Love the idea of worm or assassin vine farming too.

That is a nice idea. Will this "religion" be related to necromancy too or just justify the ferocity of the nocturnians?

I've thought about some kind of "deity" (it is rather a great demoness) that can be called via sacrifices and dark rituals for the darkest kinds of covenants.

If it is not too late, I'd like to sign up for the nocturnus guild. I think, I've succumbed to the temptation and would like to offer my humble services to Lord Ssilyrrlith if they are still wanted. My mind has prepared something sinister...
