Thank you so much for opening this topic, DLuders!

Of course we all need such a "great" motor!

That's why I posted it in my signature...

We need a tread like this for longer pneumatics :)

Well you've persuaded me (who ever could have predicted that from me  ) , off to start a new topic before we go off topic here!

I think the product ideas related to motors and pneumatics are absolutely fantastic. My only question is whether or not Cuusoo is the correct avenue. It certainly couldn't hurt - as any promotion of these product ideas will no doubt help spread the word and gather some necessary momentum - but I'm pretty sure 10,000 votes is not as achievable as people may think. Remember - back when the needed votes was just 1,000 it was very difficult to get the necessary support. Are there statistics for number of users on this forum? Has there been any Ambassador input on this issue? LEGO was just asking for folks to use their Ambassadors to their fullest potential (something I have definitely noticed a lack of). I'd like to see what comes back if we could get a few of these product ideas mentioned on the Ambassador forum...

So hopefully even though I'm kind of poo pooing the idea of seeing this to fruition by route of Cuusoo, like everyone else who've replied so far I love the ideas and would most definitely benefit from these product being produced.

Regards ~ Perry

I do agree with you Perry that 10,000 is probably impossably high, however I think the fact that we are discussing our ideas here and voting for them elsewhere is giving a clear message to TLG that this is what we want. They do read these forums and I am sure the ambassadors are also relaying our ideas to TLG but I doubt they are able to tell us anything in return. So fear not, there is still a point to all this discussing and voting even if the target is unlikely to be reached due only to the nature of that which we are voting for.

There are many really worthy projects on the site... I think it's too hard to see all the different projects; the layout of the site is not that good.

Remember all the clamoring for a separate passenger car for the Emerald Knight? Probably not if you only spend your time in the Technic forum, but there was a lot - and it's languishing with a whopping total of 33 votes (as I write this). This motor is lucky to have 112 (as I write this).

Cuusoo seems like a great idea, but they need to do it better, IMO.

ditto that. the site is so unnavigable that it feels more like a pacifier than a genuine conduit.

Remember that Cuusoo asks you how many you'd buy. So it's likely that each vote represents an average of 2 or more purchases. Plus there will be a few like me that say "I'll buy two, and if they work I'll buy at least 10", just because I can see myself using a lot of them. So it might only take 2000 or 3000 "votes" to get to 10000 orders.

Do you guys think that wearing t-shirts with the slogan: "support xs PF motor!" would help?

I'd do that if it has any impact :)

If you are wearing the T-shirt while walking through this building:

it may work.

Ok, i dont think i'll be going there any time soon.

So I plan on putting the "support the XS PF motor" t-shirt on display in my 10220 VW Camper, instead of the yellow one ;)

Does any of you know what the internal gear reduction inside the red micro motor is? its very low rpm AFAK. Its efficiency shows there's plenty of gearing down inside.

If lego make a shorter version of the existing m motor, keeping the internal planetary gear reduction, i hope they would be able to make it 3 studs long vs the current 6 studs in lenght. That means that the motor itself should be about 3 or 4 times shorter in lenght.

Has anyone seen the internal gearing of the old micro motor? I wonder if it is done by harmonic gear reduction due to the weird noise it made, the massive amount of reduction and the likelyhood of it breaking.

As much as I support the idea of a Power Functions XS motor, this is clearly not the the right avenue to get one. CUUSOO is intended to offer LEGO sets based on customer input, not new parts. There is a very long design and iteration process that goes into new parts, and I don't see LEGO ever abdicating that to fans. On the other hand, discussions like this and use of the CUUSOO process is one way in which we can effectively "sign a petition" to make LEGO understand that there is strong support for such a product. They will, of course, only make such a part if there is a clear business case to do so.

I don't think that video was worth the wait.

all the way through it, i kept thinking to myself "he's gonna need a bigger screwdriver, he's gonna need a bigger screwdriver", then fade to black. i just don't get french new wave cinema.
