Brickton Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Behold Historica, the legends are true, the Dragonkin are here we are terrible. I, Ingvar Arngeir "Lord of the Dragonkin" has come to offer my allegiance. We have emerged from our secret fortress deep in the northern mountains and come to pledge allegiance to the Mitgardia clans. I offer the services of the Dragon warriors and the mighty beasts of destruction who call them equals. Our armies are mighty with furious Berzerkers to soften the enemy, Hlif Darrador (heavy shield spearmen ) to create a breakthrough, and Flotliga shock troops who are expert swordsmen and can run all day in heavy armour to chase down those that flee before us. We have many more, and terrible, surprises for the foolhardy who threaten us...but we are a peaceful people who want to be live free. We also bring trade goods with some of the best mead and beer in all Historica. Mitgardia, I offer to stand with you. PS: I would also suggest you keep us away from the Scalebane family... let's just say we do not get along.
Ecclesiastes Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 @ Brickton: Welcome, it's always a good thing to have some fierce man in our midst! @ Our great Jarl: Have you thought about some mini challenges for our great guild. It's going to be a while, before our calenders are reaching 15th of february. So (I hope) lots of time for more Mitgarian mocs!
The Penguin Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 After another round of battle with the Bat-like Dark Knight from the unknown realm, Pengus Penguinius is back! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
Blockburn Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Well it has been a while since I went off to find some brave warriors to have join my little army, but I finally have found them! I will also be working on an embassy, and I will try to finish that on time, but Im not sure that it will happen...
Sirens-of-Titan Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 Hello all, it's my time to add to the landscape of Mitgardia again; this time it is a catacomb set in the Mitgardian Mountains. more here It's time for a few mew build challenges! Category 1: The Mytgardian Legend: Write a short story and build a small MOC that shows off the lore of the North. Sleeping giants? Dangerous catacombs? Dragon's nests? Tundra trolls? You bet, all are welcome! Make it a great build and story and I will bestow upon 2 skillful builders the title of "Lore Master" Category 2: Ship-Building: Build a mighty vessel from the North, and place it in a harbor, or out at sea. Don't limit yourself to viking ships, and especially please don't use those giant viking hulls unless they are done in style. I would like to see some more-interesting medieval warships. Get creative here. A scene would be great here. Best builder here gets the "Admiral of the Mitgardian Fleet" Category 3: Celebration Day: This one is fun! Describe and build a scene from a Mitgardian festival or celebration. It can be a religious occasion, a military victory, a seasonal (harvest) festival or a traveling troupe of performers. Aesthetics will be key here. Best 2 Builds get the title of "Mitgardian Bard" I hope to see more of you join the builds, I am still waiting on a few members to join the building fun. Long live Mitgardia!

I'll have to change some of the names around, but that will not be much of a problem.
Darkdragon Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 The new challenges sound really fun! Can't wait to start writing and building for Cat.1

Cwertle Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I should have my first MOCs up as soon as I decide to take apart my current medieval village. My current one is made up of mostly official sets, so I wont be posting that.

robuko Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 My Noble Lords, We are pleased to report that the World`s End Caravan Company Expedition to Kaliphlin was a great success. Much profit and feasting all round. May the New Year bring you all happiness, good health, peace and prosperity, with best wishes from Petraea, Rasputin
Fat Tony Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Yay, new mini-challenges! Is the deadline the same as the Embassy challenge?
Sirens-of-Titan Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 To answer a few questions: 1) Yes, for mini-challneges I'd say LDD is ok, BUT please use good taste and scale. As these are mini challenges, please don't unleash a monstrous 2000+ part MOC on us. 2) Yes the deadline is the same as the embassy challenge. 3) Thanks Rasputin, Happy new Year to you as well!
Cwertle Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Finished my first Mitgardian MOC, the Falcons Forge. P1070249 by Cwertle, on Flickr Bigger and better pics in the topic! Also I should have an embassy coming up soon, which guild need more embassies? http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=64623

Gondabuggan Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Oh goodie! I will begin work on the Legend challenge tonight. :3
Jakon Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Not sure which one'll do, but I'll try at last one.
Angeli Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Hello all, it's my time to add to the landscape of Mitgardia again; this time it is a catacomb set in the Mitgardian Mountains I must say that I've been merging yours and Sieron and Coral's work, and not only because of the similar nicknames and presentation, but also because of the geniality of building and fresh approach, with many of the built things never seen before. Presented so eye-catching! Bravo ;)

Would love to build something for this challenge.. I think just converting some standard pirate boats would not be enough.. I'll have a fleet ready by the 14th. I hope. Question though, do we have to build full sized ships for minifigs, or can we go mini scale, like the little polybag black pearl, or the mini-versions of Star Wars ships? I was thinking of building 1 in big scale for minifigs, and a fleet scene of the same ships in the smaller scale. Any comment or critiques to the idea? I've already missed the deadline for my clothing factories and trade outposts. However, I am embarking on building Hykerbia city itself, already partially done with the enclosed harbour and Seagull tower. Now to make it less Pirate-ish and more castle-ish.
Haltiamieli Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I don't think I'm going to be able to participate in the Embassy challenge, as I still don't really have any idea for it, at least not anything I would have parts for, and I'm also quite tight on money right now. I did a small Mitgardian MOC though, just to flesh out my clan and not related to any of the mini-challenges. The house itself was close to finished already before Christmas, but I did manage to add the landscape (the small amount there is) only lately and I took the photographs today. A small Mitgardian homestead
kabel Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Fellow Mitgardians, I don't know whether you realized this, but given the fact that we earned more gold than the other guilds, I'd say that we won the watchtower challange!! Hooray to our great leader Jarl Nibelung and to all you my frozen fellows!!
