Teherean Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 teherean, leader of the horse clans signs up! In return for more independence, we will answer the Jarl's call. NERDY BACKSTORY: Our banner was decided by our ancestors, the colonists from Tauronia who first settled in our mountains. Yellow and Red are the colours of our high king. His four vassals, the Volksmännr, each bring a detachment of lancers, warriors or crossbowmen. Along with our red and yellow, Mitgardia's green and yellow will march with us into battle! I created a Eurobricks account just for this guild bandwagon. After reading up on them, I decided to join! Mitgardia seems to best fit the theme that my army already has, so here you go! I'll have pictures of my riders and footsmen posted ASAP. I also have some sort of buidling theme that fits them. Is this a problem? were there previously determined rules for building? What would be my obligations to the guild? I can build an post some diorama's, I guess, but should I build anything specific to become part of the guild? I saw something about watchtowers, or something? - Teherean

I saw something about watchtowers, or something? - Teherean Welcome Teheran! Not a problem to build things that, you think will fit our guild! And about obligations, swear loyalty to our guild and use our colors green and yellow About the watchtower, feel free to build one but that was a round one building-contest. Better to build an embassy: See: Embassy And our jarl has made a few other assignments: Category 1: The Mytgardian Legend: Write a short story and build a small MOC that shows off the lore of the North. Sleeping giants? Dangerous catacombs? Dragon's nests? Tundra trolls? You bet, all are welcome! Make it a great build and story and I will bestow upon 2 skillful builders the title of "Lore Master" Category 2: Ship-Building: Build a mighty vessel from the North, and place it in a harbor, or out at sea. Don't limit yourself to viking ships, and especially please don't use those giant viking hulls unless they are done in style. I would like to see some more-interesting medieval warships. Get creative here. A scene would be great here. Best builder here gets the "Admiral of the Mitgardian Fleet" Category 3: Celebration Day: This one is fun! Describe and build a scene from a Mitgardian festival or celebration. It can be a religious occasion, a military victory, a seasonal (harvest) festival or a traveling troupe of performers. Aesthetics will be key here. Best 2 Builds get the title of "Mitgardian Bard" So knock your self out, with building! And talking about embassies: Do not fear Jarl, altough time is short we are building! WIP: Edited February 2, 2012 by Ecclesiastes
Cij Daoke Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Cheer Mitgardian folks I come here to reinforce my wishes to build a Embassy in snowy Mitgardian, and also to offer a spot for a Mitgardian Embassy in Merodaquinas city, "the flourishing jewel of Nocturnus". We currently have two spots for Embassies, chek out spot Two and Three in the map below: I am anxious to have these things managed, so I can 'draw the land' for the Nocturnus Embassy. Don's spend a good chance to place your Embassy in the most growing city of Nocturnus! Please, notice me in the "City Guide" topic if you wish to come to Merodaquinas! You may find additional info about the city in the Nocturnus pinned topic! (roll down until you reach the thread about Merodaquinas) Thanks all
Teherean Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Thanks! As for lore writing, I was already working om something for my own faction. If I re-write it to include Mitgardia I guess it's O.K. too? And I'm afraid I have to miss out on the embassy and the boat building assignments for now, a lot of school work. A mitgardia related MOC will be up ASAP, though.
Etzel Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 I said earlier that I thought I would have my embassy finished by now, but I'm still waiting for one BL order to finish of the last details. But here is a small sneak peak for you: Mitgardian Embassy by Etzel87, on Flickr

Fat Tony Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 (edited) The Magelica, a Saber class Dwarven warship commanded by Admiral Zondervan Farknocker. Most people don't think of Dwarves as sailors, but centuries ago an intrepid group of Dwarves from Mitgardia left their mountain caverns and set out to sea (even Oaknob from Pikesteel Mountain served several decades aboard a Dwarven ship). Today the Dwarven fleet operates out of both Tradewind Bay and the Bay of Storms. More photos and descriptions at MOCPages Edited February 4, 2012 by Fat Tony
Sirens-of-Titan Posted February 4, 2012 Author Posted February 4, 2012 @ Fat Tony: Wow that is a beauty! You have amazing skill when it comes to dwarven architecture and machinery! I continue to build on the Rise of the Mage story, and as it's a least partially set in Mitgardia I feel it's appropriet to add this next MOC to our discussion here. Long live Mitgardia!
Captain Blackmoor Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 That is fantastic Sirens of Titan! What an awesome build! Mitgardia is doing good, time for the Avalonia Trading Company to establish an embassy!
Angeli Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Great builds, ship and fortress ;) Anyway, my fellow friends from Mitgardia, entrances for the gladiator games are nearing the end, we have only few empty slots, and the prize fond is getting larger by the hour ;) - Two sets of Drow-adamantium armor&weapons (as on the picture)! - Unknown number of Thrash (Brickwarriors) fantasy-castle related items (surprise surprise :)! - "The lord of the arena" title! (or "the mistress of the arena") - Gold coins for the guild! - "spice-up-you-heroine" pink armor&weapon set with seven items and possibly more, all for the winner ;) So join up and join now to the Drow gladiator games! WE DARE YOU! ;) note that every guild was "dared" with different minifig ;)
Flint Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 (edited) Hi all, Here I go. I also joined Eurobricks inspired by the GoH and the many wonderful builds I've seen around. I'm not sure whether or not I will be able to participate much, but I'll do what I can. So far, I have more backstory than actual building. I would like to join Mitgardia, as Avalonia was full - which leads to the backstory: The Buraindo are a small group of monks and druids, originating from the Avlonian druids. As the Avlonian druids became interested in changing nature using magic spells and guarding themselves from the wild, some druids felt that nature was not to be changed, but that the druids needed to come off their own lazy bums and change themselves (why is it that druids are usually fat and bearded?). The faction was frowned upon by most in Avalonia, who sought to adapt the landscape to their own convenience (sissies). The faction of druids left Avalonia in search of even wilder territory and settled in the endless wild mountain forests in the South West of Mitgardia. Mainly preoccupied with studying Nature and the Universe and trying to adapt themselves to it, the Buraindo strive for the mental and physical strength to harmonise with the wilderness of Nature. The monasteries and forest dwellings are home to many monks, outcasts, sorcerers and warriors who share the common ideal of perfecting their own being to come in full balance with the universe. In other, less pretentious, words: imagine a Lego version of the Shao Lin and other Buddhist monks, training in the mountains to achieve power and harmony with nature at the same time. So far, little building has been done, but I can show you my avatar to start with. This is Flint, one of the druid monks at the monastery, out for his morning practice: I look forward to the experience. Everyone looks amazing so far. Edit: Wow, Sirens-of-Titan - your castle looks stunning! Edited February 4, 2012 by Flint
Dan Church Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Fellow Mitgardians! I give you our latest Embassy to the Territories of Avalonia. Syaqaar Embassy You can see more on the main topic here All Hail Mitgardia!
Sirens-of-Titan Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 @ Dan Church: Wonderful embassy Dan! I like the feeling of tranquility that it has, and those sheep are classic! I am starting to wonder if half of our members have fallen off the face of the Earth. If you're still alive people, feel free to chime in and grace us with a friendly hello. So far only 2 entrees for the mini challenges, let's try to enrich Mitgardia with a few free build.
Ecclesiastes Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Hello! My embassy is almost finished. But if I can build some of the challenges, I'm still hoping but not sure yet, beacuse of a serious lack of time.
rucorder Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) I'll see if I can do one of the mini challenges. I have a couple of good ideas. Edited February 5, 2012 by rucorder
kabel Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Deares Jarl, my trademission of the Mitgardian league is still under construction, and so is my minichallange entry, which WIP pics you may have overlooked
Gondabuggan Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 My apologies Jarl, I have been busy lately. I should have a MOC up soon that my brother built most of, but i figured it was nice enough to post, as it does look an aweful lot like something from Mitgardia!
Blaze Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 (edited) Hello guys. I've been looking at the pages of Historica for a few days now and decided to join the ranks of Mitgardia (if thats possible?). I saw the MOC's of Sirens on mocpages and that inspired me to start with castle lego once again after a 2 year hiatus. My name is Jan, I'm 22 years old and I'm from Holland. I already have a character and a backstory, but I didnt had the chance to read all 35 pages of the mitgardian subforum (Im at page 25 at the moment), so I hope that I dont trespass anyone's teritory with my story. If so, please let me know so I can adjust/delete it! This is Volkan: A member of the royal guard of the Jarl, but also captain of The Snipers/Caledi'n. The Snipers/Caledi'n are the top class archers in Mitgard. Only the best of the very best are among their ranks and each of them is picked personally by Captain Volkan. These are two veteran mebers of The Snipers/Caledi'n. Edmund and Reuben. They dont have a uniform, eventhough they are part of the army of Mitgard. They use what kind of armor suits them best. When the Snipers/Caledi'n are picked, they are sent to the village of (insert a village name? I dont know the names of villages which are still available? (Oh and it has to be in a forrest, can I create my own village?)), where all the Snipers/Caledi'n live and train. This is Captain Volkan with his lieutenant Sev. The two men in charge. I hope you guys like it. I had the feeling there weren't any elite archers in Mitgard and archers are my favorite class, so I decided to create the Snipers/Caledi'n. If anyone knows a better (mitgardian) name for them, please let me know (EDIT: I've also come up with the nam Caledi'n because I thought it was norwegian for artillery, can someone confirm? Please comment on what you guys think is better)! And other ideas and advice are more than welcome (including a name for the village/forest they live in). I'm planning on building the village where they live and train and I will also participate in as many challenges as possible! Oh and sorry of the lesser quality of photo's, I took them with my phone because I broke my camera haha :P EDIT: Does someone know why my pictures are so big? The first time the site resized them to 50%, but now he resizes to 60/70% which is kind of annoying. Edited February 6, 2012 by Blaze
Thor Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Hello guys.I'm joining to mitgardia and I'm new hear.I saw all of this creations and it's really cool.:D
Flint Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Hey Mitgardians, is there a full list of members or should I just assume that anyone who posted a picture and character in this forum is part of the group? I intend to build for some of the mini-challenges first as well. Where do I post these builds? In this thread? Thanks!
Sirens-of-Titan Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 Welcome new members! You can post free builds as separate topics, but make sure you let us know here as it's almost impossible to keep up with the general forum and it'd be a shame for us to miss something! Just addressing a few thoughts: 1) It's understandable that people are busy, if anyone has a suggestion for how we can enrich Mitgardia without building elaborate MOC's per say I'd be very willing to hear it. If we get some good ideas we can start a separate topic (kind of like Angeli's Drow arena) where multiple people post and contribute. 2) There is a little over a week to go until the embassy deadline, keep it in mind if you want to enter. 3) There still are no entrees in a few of the mini challenges categories, so they're wide open for any who wish to take them up! Long live Mitgardia!
