Hey guys. just wanted to add this little vignette here (didnt think its worthy of its own thread  ):

img_0337.jpg

Its a hawk den (I dont know the right English word, any of you guys do?) which will be placed in my village, but just wanted to show it to you and wanted to know what you think. More pics in Mocpages.

And sorry of the quality and size, Im using a phone as camera at the moment and I dont know how to resize, I tried with paint but the quality gets even worse when I try :sceptic:

These embassies are fantastic! I also love the Jarl's new MOC as well as the dwarven ship! I love everyone's unique style that can easily help define their creations! I wish I had as many bricks (I will be adding to my collection over the summer). I have a small MOC I will be finishing soon...Other events have seemed to have gotten in the way. Thanks to Elyma's style I can try and incorperate that into my build... I have not touched my bricks for so many years and I cannot wait to find my style again. Keep up the fantastic work everyone!

I think it's clear the question was about joining Mitgardia. Not about joining a simular idea of classic-castle! :sceptic:

@ Umbro Stormborn Feel free to join! :classic: Looking forward to see some of your creations.

Hehe I know the question was to join Mitgardia guild :classic: . I was being sneeky trying to get more members for our project on classic castle hehe

Because there is many that are members of both forums, and seeing all the nice mocs here and how good this project works. It is something to consider :classic:

Wonderful embassies Guildsmen! Your builds are truly inspired and well-made!

To answer a question that came up about joining; membership to all guilds is open except for Avalonia. (The reason being is it got too crowded over there)

A little less than a week left now until the deadline for mini challenges and and the embassy challenge; if you are finishing them up try to post them soon so that we don't have any contested "late entrees".

I am going to start a small project for us to build up our capital. I am announcing a contest for a mini build that is independent of the other mini challenges.

Valholl Micro-Scale Build:

Construct our mighty capital in micro-scale according to the guidelines listed herein and post your design in the topic I am going to start. This will be the beginning of a much larger series of projects, but we need to settle on a size/look/theme for our great city first. Micro-scale will give us a good idea of layout, and will double as a type of rudimentary map for us to follow when building parts of the city up.

Unlike Avalonia's Capital I will not be assigning lots, instead there will be districts in which you could build.

Micro-scale build must include:

1) Surrounding environment be it plains, farmland, mountains, forests, river etc.

2) A system of walls, and fortifications all along the outer bounds of the city.

3) A centrally located castle or citadel

4) At least one residential district

5) An economic district

6) A slums district

7) A city square

Build can be no bigger than 40X40 studs, and no smaller than 24X24 studs. (yes it's a "big city" and the build should reflect this )

To give incentive for you builders, by the end of the specified deadline there will be a vote for best design, and the winner of that vote will be awarded several honors.

1) Their micro-scale city will be placed on the front page of our forum under the Valholl Section.

2)Their architectural style and layout will be used thereafter as a guide to future building projects of Valholl.

3) The Title of "Master Architect of Valholl" will be given to winner

4) For their effort, they will be awarded a $20US gift card for the Lego Shop, along with a Jarl Nibelung Minifigure and Official Seal of Valhollletter.

So be creative, make it a great design and take good pictures! Remember it must be a mighty impressive city! Deadline is March 24th.

I have been a long time lurker over there. That might make me join, if for any reason, just to occasionally build outside of Kaliphlin.

I have not read that thread in a few days, but I was hoping that they would come to a consensus and create a second continent in the same world as GoH, and run some joint competitions. Maybe in a year we could have a war of the worlds!

One concern I had was that two competitions might siphon builders from one site to the other and maybe end up the death of one or both of these projects. However, constant promotion of both events and a friendly attitude towards each other should be enough to keep that from happening I think.

I hope our terrific map makers don't get pilfered though... that would be a true loss!

EDIT: I forgot the whole reason I wanted to post. Just to say that the new challenge you all have sounds great! I can't wait to see some of the results, maybe we will copy your guild challenge.

This sounds interesting! I will try my best, even though I'm really a novice when it come to micro-scale.

Tharn Vendderson by Brickhead The Third, on Flickr

His band of northmen shall keep the great home fortress safe. He comes from a territory called Myrth in the far north of Mitgardia. His family has long supported the Yarl. His favorite snacks are Yeti jerky and the blood of his enemies.

If all's well my mini-challenge should be done today or tomorrow. I'm having fun! :sweet:

The new contest sounds great. I'm (like most fellow Mitgardians, it seems) completely new to micro-scale, but I think it's a great idea to but our capitol like that. I salute you!

And yes, long live Mitgardia!
