Sirens-of-Titan Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 Hello Mitgardians! Please take a moment and look at our Valholl Micro Scale Project and vote for your favorite entree!
soccerkid6 Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 (edited) Glad to see the voting up Sad to see that LDD has a negative effect on at least 11 people , but oh well. How long will the voting last? Edited March 25, 2012 by soccerkid6
Sirens-of-Titan Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 I'll keep voting open for art least 2 days so that we get a decent turnout.
Darkdragon Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 I forgot to post here and let you guys know I made an entry and here it is with a link to the comments thread. Comments Thread Voting Thread (just in case you forgot to vote yet) Micro Valholl complete (image is a link to the photo on Flickr)
soccerkid6 Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I would love to hear some feedback about my micro Valholl, and how I could have changed it to make it better. (Other than not make it in LDD)
NiceMarmot Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I would love to hear some feedback about my micro Valholl, and how I could have changed it to make it better. (Other than not make it in LDD) I didn't mind the LDD at all, although I did think the pictures could have been a bit bigger.
Sirens-of-Titan Posted March 26, 2012 Author Posted March 26, 2012 Hello Guildsmen! The 2 days are up and the votes are in. In first place came Ecclesiastes, followed by darkdragon, followed by soccerkid6, and bartjuh. Congratulations everyone, you did a great job on these builds! Micro-scale building is incredibly challenging and intricate and all 4 entrees showed ingenious techniques and part usage! Ecclesiastes, I'll contact you about the prizes and you may add the title: "Master Architect of Valholl" to your lineup. All others who entered you get the title "Architect Regent of Valholl" We are working on special tags as well, so participating in these will eventually mean more tags for those who take part. Thanks for everyone's votes and participation, now let's get on with Challenge 3!
Darkdragon Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Congrats on another victory and title Ecclesiastes! Excellent work on the micro city.
I Scream Clone Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Presenting the free build scores and running tallies for Guilds of Historica. Kaliphlin is closing the gap! Lets get some more Nocturnus and Mitgardia builds going
kabel Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 So what time frame are we talking about here? And who did the judging, and how? the same procedure as always?

I'm working on a free build now, and will soon start my entry for the third challenge. We need to get Mitgardia back to the top! Edited March 27, 2012 by soccerkid6
NiceMarmot Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 So what time frame are we talking about here? And who did the judging, and how? the same procedure as always? Yes, I'm interested in how this works too. What was the timeframe? How many builds were judged for each guild? What was the average "score" of the builds for each guild? I'm trying to get a feel for whether Avalonia did better just by having more builds, or better quality, etc. Is Kaliphlin a high quality / low volume builder, or vice versa?
Cara Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Great job everyone and congratulations on well deserved titles. As a moc I loved Ecclesiastes but as a plan for our city I liked the thought behind the layout in Darkdragons. It always amazed me the detail and ingenuity that you all managed to fit in such a small space. Well done.
Sirens-of-Titan Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Yes, I'm interested in how this works too. What was the timeframe? How many builds were judged for each guild? What was the average "score" of the builds for each guild? I'm trying to get a feel for whether Avalonia did better just by having more builds, or better quality, etc. Is Kaliphlin a high quality / low volume builder, or vice versa? 1) We tried to find the equilibrium between guild participation and quality of builds submitted. Just because a guild is high-yield does not guarantee it more points. Having said that, a guild with a lot of active builders who do their best seems to receive the most points by our scheme, but it is fair to credit each builder equally regardless of his Guild affiliation. 2) All free builds were judged, from the beginning until now. 3) I want to express my gratitude towards the other Guild Leaders and Taz as it seems they all contributed in collecting and scoring free builds, and I wasn't very active in it at all. About Ecclesiastes' signature. We may have to create a new character for you; you're a damn national treasure as it stands now and we wouldn't want you getting assassinated and leaving us in the dark ages without military, religion, naval fleet, and arts.
kabel Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 2) All free builds were judged, from the beginning until now. well, then I'm surprised we did so poorly, as some of us, for example ecclesiates and I, have really tried hard to shell out quite a number of free builds, I actually would say that those weren't really that crappy after all.
Ecclesiastes Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 About Ecclesiastes' signature. Thanks I feel honored! My guards will make sure nothing can happen! well, then I'm surprised we did so poorly, as some of us, for example ecclesiates and I, have really tried hard to shell out quite a number of free builds, I actually would say that those weren't really that crappy after all. I do think we did a great job too! But I also think the other guilds outnumbered us with more free builds. So to all guildsmen let those free builds come!!
Blaze Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I was going to build a few free builds, because I joined just after challenge two, but right before I wanted to post the builds challenge three was announced and I decided to use them in ch.3. Next month I'll have some more time at hands so I'll post some free builds after the completion of ch.3. I also should work a bit on my profile, cause people tend to remember you faster with an avatar and signature.
soccerkid6 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I am almost done with a free build And I forgot to say thanks to anyone who voted for me
bartjuh Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I didn't know free builds were also judged. Until now I kept my ideas for the quests. Next few weeks I'll be busy building for the third quest, but I'll also try to make time for a free build.
soccerkid6 Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Here is a teaser pic of the free build I am working on , I have the gatehouse finished as you can see. Don't forget to compete in the Archery tournament either, there is a prize of 50 gold darics to the Guild that wins, plus some armour
Ecclesiastes Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 @ soccerkid6, great to see a preview of your free build! And talking about freebuilds, here is one of mine: Topic: Beacon of Ondylion
kabel Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 @soccerkid: that looks truely good, and yeah, its in real bricks @all others: come on guys, lets get more free builds going, seeing us trailing behind, possibly being passed by Nocturnus actually hurts quite a bit!!!
soccerkid6 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) My build is finished I think Just got to dust everything off, pose some figs, and take pictures Probably will have it up today. It came out a lot taller than I imagined Edited March 30, 2012 by soccerkid6
glenpinpat Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 working on a free build now, but my challange three has taken many pieces I need.
Darkdragon Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Yes seeing us falling behind is painful. I wish I had some time to do more free builds Great work Ecclesiastes on your small build.
