@Burrli, after just having seen the scenes on Flickr, I can't wait to see the story! The house off to the left is especially awesome!

@Garmadon: What is going to be on top of the cliffs?

First, it is not a cliff, it is a riverbank, so it is grass on top. The grass is really the ground of the build.

I'll have to modify that, though, I don't have enough dark green platforms.

I'm think about dark green, brown and dark gray right now. Any suggestions?

As to the question of what is going to be on top of the "cliffs", ha, that's the secret.

Let's just say that the river is the one that runs under Cedrica's walls. Does it have a name, cause I didn't see one on the map?

@garmadon + bb: awesome stuff you guys are showing there, looks like Mitgardia is off to a great round again. Looks like we might reclaim second!!

Is the riverbed dry? Or was I looking at the wrong pictures, with the mitgaardian soldiers walking along it. Looking forward to seeing more =) I love WIPs

I'm not sure I understand you, but the Mitgardian soldiers are walking (marching, really) down a dry rock riverbed.

I'll have to make it look more like a riverbed, it seems like, but it shopuld hopefully be clear in the final entry.

Thanks, I say we go for first  .

I don't know if you have the pieces, but an alternative to using tiles to make cobblestone/rock look could be to have the base of the river bed be made of bricks lying down on their side. Make sections that are edged in slope bricks and each sections slope bricks match the one next to it but place them slightly apart to form deep cracks downwards.

I would suggest the dry river bed will be lighter than the rocks of the sides.

can I sign up here? If so, I would like to sign up.

I was told I have to tell something about myself and I have to introduce my "sigfig"?

I will do that: hello, I am Jeroen, I live in the Netherlands, I am 17 years old and I really like lego's, for more information check my profile. My sigfig will be an archer, because I really like archers. If that is not ok, I will be the soldier in my profile-foto. And if that is not ok, I will have to think of something else.

Hey there Jeroenaa,

first of all, welcome to Mitgardia. You've just choosen the right guild! As for you sigfig, maybe you should scroll through this thread a bit in order to see how other people introduced themselves. As of late, these introductions become better and better, see here for example: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=79999 You pretty much invent a character with a name and some sort of biography and try to tell your hero's story by building plenty of mocs featuring this guy/gal. At least that's what most of us do. This also includes that you "design" your sigfig by putting together various parts, like you can see in my case: My heroe's name is Steen Larsson, originally a carpenter who has risen in the hierarchy of this guild. I'm using a viking torso, a blacksmith head, some green (one of or two offical colors - green and yellow) legs, the prince of persia hair piece and a brown coat.

So once again, welcome to Mitgardia have fun building and writing stories!

Well. lets put it this way, some people don't use their guild colors quite as often, but most Mitgardians and Avalonians try to. As you can see in Ecclesiates' post on page 83 of this thread, we also have some sort of standard uniform. You don't have to do things like this, but it's cooler this way.

I have found a green pants, so I gave one of my yellow vikings a green pants, a cape, a warg (from the Hobbits), and 1 of the fireman's axes. I have 4 of them now, but pictures won't work. 1 of them is on a warg, the rest have to walk. They all have shields.

Do you know the yellow vikings?

Hello, I think I should think of my name, so here it is: Alfadas Manderdson. Some of you may know it from books, but it is a cool name, for sure here in the North.

Welcome to Historica jeroenaa. I like your signature ;)

So here is the first picture of my battle scene WIP for challenge six. At the moment this is all about loving the olive green bricks!

@Z HAHA, nice!

@jeroenaa: Nice to officially meet you, don't worry about being confused many of us were at first, you will get the hang of it soon -- your sig fig sounds really interesting, can't wait to see him when you get your camera working.

@jeroenaa, most welcome. Always nice to have a fellow dutchman in Mitgardia. Never heard of yellow vikings but I'm Eager to meet them.

@Cara, love that gap in hthe tower!

Nice WIP, Cara, only, I personally am not a fan of olive green, at least not very much. :sceptic: I pretty much stick to rock.

And welcome, jeroenaa, you joined the right guild  .

And for whoever might know, any suggestions on what the wall of Cedrica should look like?

I've got it started but it would be nice to get it right.

Just now it is similar to the wall of Vahaloll.

Posted

maybe you should consider Legonardos moc as a source of inspiration.

I suppose you mean his challenge VI entry?

Anyways, I've seen that, but I need to build the wall, not a gate.

And I was hoping for something more like a Wall of Vahaloll (or standard wall look) for Cedrica.

Anyways, it appears that the only people who have MOCed Cedrica would be Brickington and Si-MOCs?

The problem is they are both using perspective to make Cedrica small, so I can't get any details out of them.

You don't have to use a sort of standard wall. I'm building Valholl for the challenge and it's different from the valholl standard wall from the project! So be creative and use what Cedrica seems to look like to you.

Thanks, Ecc, but what I really meant was more like something to get an idea from, not to copy piece for piece.

Anyways, I think I got it now, so I'll just go ahead with what I have.

Ok, here's a newer WIP (since you liked my last one so much, right  )

So tommorrow would hopefully be finishing the wall.

I like the way you made the grate. I know you said you were lacking dark green but looking at the WIP I keep thinking the green and brown should be reversed as it would be brown banks and green fields as the river is dry.

I'm loving this, and I'd have to agree with Cara, reverse the green and the brown. Other than that, perfect!
