Fives Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 @SOT: how about smaller mini challanges? seems like the enthusiasm has slowed a little ... I like this idea quite a bit. Also, on another note, I have a proposal. Our guild colors are green and yellow, yet isn't this to similar to Avalonia's dark green and gold? Should we not strive to differentiate ourselves amongst the guilds? Would it not be wise to change our colors ere we are attacked by enemies of Avalonia's, mistaken for them? I propose that we change our colors from green and yellow to blue and white, because they seem more fitting to our home land ( cold colors ) and they are different from all the other guilds, except for Kaliphlin's dark blue. I only ask, my lord, but please consider it. In the end, you are the leader, and it is your choice. For the glory of the North!
Waterbrick Down Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 While I can not speak for Sirens, I have always loved the yellow and green of Mitgardia, they serve as a great contrast to the stark white of the snow. Avalonia is a combination of the dark green and the sand green which is fitting of their noble, established, and deeply timbered lands. Mitgardia is a land for the settler, the pioneer, the adventurer and the bold yellow and green flag, that simple yet steadfast standard flies boldly from the towers on the mountain peaks and within the hallowed halls of the Dwarven nobility representing not only simplicity but fortitude. Also, not all of Mitgardia is covered in snow and thus the blue and white while may be suited for the snow covered valleys of the far north, may not go with the forested areas in the south. Just the humble opinion of a southerner.

Just the humble opinion of a southerner. You are very observant, southron. And the points you make are very true. @SOT: I ask that my men and I wear blue and white rather than the traditional guild colors. Now, this does not mean I am any less at your service, my Lord Jarl Nibelung. I only ask this so my company and I can stand out in our army. For the glory of the North!
Ecclesiastes Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) Avalonia isn't green and gold but dark green and lime green. So green en yellow does stand out quite well! I like the colors of the guild and as Hersir, I can only honour those colors. And about less enthusiasm. I doubt that, not everyone has the time to build everyday or to check eurobricks all the time, like myself. So if you want to have mini challenges, I think the participation will be quite simular to building watchtowers. Altough more mocs is always fun Edited November 24, 2011 by Ecclesiastes
Sirens-of-Titan Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 @ kabel: Yes indeed, I see that the Guilds are having a blast with this idea, I will post a list of mini challenges to get us building and expanding the world of Mitgardia. Keep in mind that things are bound to slow down during large building challenges as it's quite easy to make minifigures and get people to immediately sign in but rather more-difficult to start and finish large-scale MOC's. The list will be posted very soon. @ Fives: The colors of the Guild are determined and to change them now would be a disfavor to all the people who already posted minifigures and creations with those colors. (That being everyone who signed up)So green and yellow it stays, don't worry that our enemies will mistake us for Avalonians; our courage and incredible sense of northern pride will set us apart both in battle and in peace. Having said that, it is ok for your men to wear any colors they wish as long as you fly the Mitgardian flag in your MOC's and it looks like you have it! Here we go with special challenges! I have 2 tasks, if you feel up to one of these, state so and we will be looking forward to your builds. I will also give out titles. 1) Economic Mini Chellenge: Design a trading post/store/workshop/mine to boost our economic prowess. Fur traders, blacksmiths, dwarven miners and caravan traders this is the one for you! Do a good job and our Trade/Economy Titan title may be bestowed upon you! 2) The Colonial Homestead Mini Challenge: Design a house or dwelling that will fit well into Mitgardia. Colonial housing, tudor buildings, Norse temples, native cottages and dwarven cities of stone are encouraged! Show us your creative muscle and one of you will win the first ever title of "Royal Architect" Remember: Members with titles get their own mini-rounds later with special prizes, so take your time, build and have fun innovating! A special note about cannon usage: I see a lot of our members have tapped into that Dwarven technology that seems to dominate the field of war; gunpowder. Although I was initially inclined to allow it, it seems like more and more of us are using cannon as the major component in our armed forces. Norse men and Women fight with sword and steel Guildsmen! Let the cannon be a weapon of last resort, and from now on, I'd like to see little to no usage of this technology. Long live Mitgardia!
_dargor_ Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Well, at last I have had some time to make something: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=62704 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=62705 The pictures are not the better but I have a limited daylight time and I´m trying to improve my photo skills.
Ecclesiastes Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) That tower is very nice, especially the way you took the picture! Edited November 24, 2011 by Ecclesiastes

Viceroy Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) @ Kabel Enthusiasm is still flying high! The Worlds End Caravan Co. are currently hard at work charting the realm and constructing a watch tower to guard one of our southern trade routes. As you can see our best stonemasons and carpenters are on site. @ S-O-T Thank you for clearing this up. Our stores of medium green sleve material were exhausted almost immediately and suitable dyes have not been located at the trading posts we have visited recently! We have been issuing guards with white or brown sleeves and have found that they still look like fearsome northmen, especially standing united under green and yellow banners. The Company has been working on a distinguishable banner of a single white flag (representing the snowy wastes they dare to cross) beneath the great green and yellow (to demonstrate their loyalty and service to the Jarl of Mitgardia). kabel Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 @viceroy: As I said before, I just got the TS soldiers, meaning four pairs of greens arms + a nice assortment of other green bricks for just 4,- €, so I'm supplied with green arms now
beardurham Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) well, like has already been explained by de-gothia, you upload your pics at brickshelf or flickr and then write a post here with a reference to your pic there, if you do it right the image shows up here in your post My link Well that seems to have worked now! But it had to be written in by keyboard one digit at a time? Edited November 24, 2011 by beardurham
Sirens-of-Titan Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 My link Well that seems to have worked now! But it had to be written in by keyboard one digit at a time? Good to have you on board! It's ok to deep-link your pictures too. Simply right click your picture on brickshelf, and select "copy image location" , then click this button: and paste what you just copied, and presto! Make sure you re-size the picture though, it's a bit too large as is. Now, in case anyone missed the update to my previous post here are the mini challenges again: 1) Economic Mini Challenge: Design a trading post/store/workshop/mine to boost our economic prowess. Fur traders, blacksmiths, dwarven miners and caravan traders this is the one for you! Do a good job and our "Trade/Economy Titan" title may be bestowed upon you! 2) The Colonial Homestead Mini Challenge: Design a house or dwelling that will fit well into Mitgardia. Colonial housing, Tudor buildings, Norse temples, native cottages and dwarven cities of stone are encouraged! Show us your creative muscle and one of you will win the first ever title of "Royal Architect" 3) Siege Master Mini Challenge: Design a mighty catapult, battering ram, trebuchet, ballista, or siege tower that our armies can take to war should the need arise. Title of "Siege Master" will be given to the best machine. take your time on this one, I will only pick a truly beautiful, impressive and innovative design. (Please no cannon) Remember: Members with titles get their own mini-rounds later with special rewards, so take your time, build and have fun innovating! To our American members, Happy Thanksgiving! Long live Mitgardia!

rucorder Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Hi, just finished my tower. What does my guild think? Mitgardian Watchtower by Ru Corder, on Flickr Built high in the mountains of Mitgardia, this tower watches over a dangerous pass.
kabel Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 well, its gonna to tough to decide which are the 5 best towers of our guild since this is also extremely good. What I like most is how you depicted really deep snow!!
_dargor_ Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Wow the effect of deep snow It´s trully amazing. I have too much to learn.
