...Two Questions:

1.Can I also post this in the Historical MOCs Thread?

2.How can I tell how many points this gets us?

Historical MOCs Thread? I may be missing something, but are you referring to the forum (of which GoH is a subforum)? If so... I don't think so. At least I don't think it's been done before. I suppose if you changed it a bit, but even that might be pushing it...

For question number two... unfortunately you can't. Even if you could, I bet it would be a while before it would be scored, but ZC has said that free builds don't earn that many points. I don't know how much not that many is, but it must really be very little, considering the amount of (superb, I may add) builds he threw into his challenge VI entry (even though they would only be scored insofar as they enhanced the story) rather than make as separate free-build. They are scored on a 50 point score-sheet (so to speak) but that's not 50 (potential) gold. My guess is it would be somewhere between 10 and 25?

@Sir Edwyn: Great to see it up! And as for free builds, so far the amount of gold one can earn with a free build hasn't been revealed, but every freebuild definitely helps!

Looking forward to continuing this :classic:

Ok, I've got a teaser up, let's see who can guess what I'm doing  :

Coming Soon.

I kind of like the mysterious free build system, because it keeps people from getting mad when their build does not score as much gold as someone else's. Since the judges put together a large score card adjustment every few months, we never know which builds scored high.

Yeah, it stinks on one hand, not knowing how much you helped your guild earn, but on the other hand, it keeps people from getting mad at the judges and each other.

Anyone else working on anything new?

I got another 48 by 48 freebuild in the making, that I couldn't finish for the entry. And of course there are going to be more monastery modules!

Even I am not from Mitgardia, I am also working on something that is 192x128 :classic:

There will be a teaser (where it has a Pirate make-over) on the Pirate forum very soon :classic:

Great to hear you guys are still filled with ideas. I got a lot of ideas myself. Unfortunately I'll focus my building this month more towards Brickworld.

Yes and no, maybe not showing the points but some feedback would be nice. Also, free-builds should score more points then they do now compared to the challenge entries. But that's maybe a point for the second Era.

Mad? I won't be mad, I'll just send some Aicorhon

Hey, looks like Ecc didn't like being a count anymore. Nice GREEN star m'boy!

Luckily it's not a dark green one

May I join?

All you need to do is create a sig-fig (minifigure representation of your character) and post it (with perhaps a short background story). If you haven't already, I'd encourage you to check out the first post in all the guild topics, as well as the Introduction and Questions thread (though the first post there is old; we're done with the 6th challenge now).

Naturally, you should join Kaliphlin instead of Mitgardia though...

@Jeroenaa: indeed, he has some more privileges than us now :classic: But also some responsibilities :classic:

@Ecc: indeed well deserved!!!

congrats eccs, you deserve it!

@hobbit: you're more than welcome to join this!!! guild!

Congrats Ecc!

Finally got some sun! Not much, but enough to take some quick pictures! I've got four freebuilds ready to post! I'll go ahead and post the first one now...

Hey guys! This is me signing up for Mitgardia or at least a heads up that I will once I have my backstory and photography ready. SoceerKid was kind enough to already send me a welcome message and ask if I had any questions. It turns out I have a few and I figured I would get more complete answers faster if I just asked them all here. Replies here or by message would be greatly appreciated.

1. Can anyone point me toward a detailed map (particularly of Mitgardia and maybe Nocturnus)? I found a nice one on the Wiki page and it had numbers for important places but no key or legend that I saw to tell me what I was looking at.

2. Is there a 'canon' for what events have transpired up until now? I am trying to build an understanding of the world so I can create my place in it.

3. Any existing information dealing with dwarves and drows would be of particular interest to me. If any of you have spent time creating a story for any dwarven clans, I'd love to see it.

4. Are there any restrictions or guidelines for free builds at all? (size, content?) I assume there aren't but I'd hate to find out I was mistaken later.

Thanks everyone! I am really looking forward to getting involved here.

Looks like Mitgardia will grow, because I'm planning on joining too. I also had a question and wrote to Ecclesiastes about it, but yes, if I ask here, maybe I get answers faster. So, is it possible to build my MOC using LDD? I have some bricks back at my parents house, but after my dark years had passed, I collect almost entirely CMFs, so I don't have too much bricks. I will build my sigfig in real bricks, but after that, I would like to show some MOCs in digital form.

And showing how valuable I am  , Str0ngbad, I've already found this thread about locations and creations in Mitgardia:

And I find this community build particularly interesting:

In terms of Drow, the significant contributor so far has been Angeli - check out his MOCs in the MIC index thread. Noone has been significantly committed to Dwarves, that I can remember, but check out the previous Mitgardian Challenge entries, and you should find some Dwarf builds. As far as canon, the first entry for each guild thread and the Challenge description thread will probably have the most information, but GoH is mostly about free reign, so you are not that constrained by existing history or having to account for other People's builds.

@Str0ngbad:

1. As Yooha said this is the topic that shows the map and locations of Mitgardia (though it has not been updated for a very long time): http://www.eurobrick...1

2.This topic has the official storyline of GoH, scroll down a bit to read the actual story: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=62242

3. I've done a bit with dwarves, happy to hear you will be as well, they are rather neglected in my opinion. Here are the topics of builds I've done concerning dwarves:

http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=70913/

http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=72294

http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=74382/

http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=75633/

There isn't too much official lore about them, they're quite common in Mitgardia with all its mountains, skilled craftsmen, pretty much the normal dwarve lore.

4. Nope, no limits, the better (higher quality) the build the more points you earn for Mitgardia.

@Yooha: Welcome to Mitgardia! The walls of Valholl project is definitely worth contributing too, I'm working on a section now, as for using LDD for builds, I think it is allowed for free builds (will need to get ZC's opinion to be sure) but not for actual Challenge entries :classic:

Thanks all! I never was a big fan of purple.

@Yooha; A response within 24 hours isn't too bad in my opinion. But I think you're well informed right now, so most welcome!

@ Str0ngbad and Hobbit: Ofcourse also welcome, looking forward to seeing your builds!

Most of your questions seem to have been answered there fairly well, I don't think Mitgardia has a too detailed up to date map, but it doesn't really matter as most Mitgardian's don't really claim that much land (just give a general direction... you know, over the next big mountain...), but here's a map of all Historica, with the major locations.

Yooha - Too many Mitgardians now! I'm not sure if LDD is really allowed for free-builds (ZC could help you on that probably), it's not done too often (I don't think I've ever seen a build topic with LDD), and seeing you build with real bricks would be preferable, (do keep in mind it doesn't have to be too big), but welcome to GoH!

dwarves are wicked. welcome new people! Im liking this surge of newcomers, the forums are great when lively :classic: well done Z!
