gedren_y Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 (edited) I am very happy with my tag. I like silver over gold. It also represents the coloring of the Petraea City Guard. Edit: Oooh! A Kaliphlin is the first on page 100! Edited June 5, 2013 by gedren_y

Nightstalker Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) Rakath Patrol MOC: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=83209 On a side note: We seem to be picking up some Mitgardian hate lately. Should I be worried about that in the least bit? Edited June 6, 2013 by Nightstalker
Str0ngbad Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) Having read through the wonderful banter today, it seems to be from both Avalonia and Mitgardia but some in Kaliphlin have been asking for it. Most of you are good citizens of Historica, friends and trading partners, but there seem to be a few in your midst who would risk the hard won piece for a little gold. I don't think there's anything to be worried about from Mitgardia but you may want to watch some of your friends near Nocturnus more carefully. They fly a Kaliphlin banner but it could be they bleed Nocturnian blood. Edited June 6, 2013 by Str0ngbad
Maxim I Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I do have to admit that in the heat of the game, some standards were broken recently by some of us. What started as just some joking may have been seen as pure provocations in the end by other guilds. Kaliphlin is a very proud guild, but we really do know that we need the other guilds as well and the last thing we want is losing some important friends. An example for this is that i asked to mitgardians for a lot of beer. Also if i really considered the other guilds useless, i would not spend hours to recreate everyones character but instead i would have said: kaliphlin only on my party :)

All the razzing is in good fun. As a matter of fact, I'm going to try and send you a pretty decent shipment of beer early next week. When exactly is the party? I'd hate to be late.

I do have to admit that I don't have that many beards (or fleshie faces) and that you do have a difficult character to make So probably I will put Khor II in some traditional Kaliphlin clothes (or I put him in the Mitgardian traditional Leprechaun costume) I will see Edit: you can always say that your MOC happened before the party, but that your painter was too drunk to finish the painting in time Edited June 6, 2013 by Damaximus
Mike S Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 We seem to be picking up some Mitgardian hate lately. Should I be worried about that in the least bit? I haven't noticed. Where did you get that from?
Nightstalker Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I haven't noticed. Where did you get that from? Well, I've just noticed a couple of rather interesting comments from some Mitgardians, that's all. Again having little interaction with the guild itself at this point (I'm still fairly new), I'm just curious.
kabel Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 there were two comments by me, not very offensive as they were accompanied by smilies ... all just part of the usual good humored trash talking that takes place here every now and then!

I was already browsing all the comments of the last 3 days @Nightstalker: there is a lot of fun trashtalking in Historica Like Kabel pointed out, those who are a joke are mostly accompanied by smilies and laughing faces it keeps GoH alive and adds some humor to this beautifull project I do have to admit that it is sometimes difficult to see what was considered to be a joke and what is a real provocation

Just friendly patriotic banter there. Captain Nemo from Nocturnus on the other hand.....
Gideon Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Raiders!! Some rogue Mitgardians perhaps? (just a vig I made for another purpose, but doesn't it look suspiciously like someone from the north? )
Maxim I Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Raiders!! Some rogue Mitgardians perhaps? (just a vig I made for another purpose, but doesn't it look suspiciously like someone from the north? ) It always can be someone from Atlarka (remember Winter is Coming in my Chal VI entry) King Donkon II promised to not let his men raid any villages on the mainland (not even in Mitgardia, Nocturnus and Avalonia), but there are always chiefs who don't obey to every order Probably it just was one single clan who did this You remembered any specific colours? I'll talk with King Donkon about the situation one of the next days as he is in Mpya Stedor currently
Sebeus I Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 The Kaliphlin waters are now reinforced with a submersible one-man craft. I haven't built anything for ages .
Nightstalker Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 That's... interesting to say the least. Got a link with more pictures? I see one of those orbs underneath the front of the ship
SkaForHire Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 That is pretty cool - is it magic based? Or does it run on some other sort of power?
Mike S Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 That is pretty cool - is it magic based? Or does it run on some other sort of power? My guess is that it is hand powered...
Kai NRG Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Just finished another free-build and story: I've been trying to get a supplies-to-Mypa Steador build done, but every base I build for my covered wagon ends up too small. So I've got two bases lying around (I'll be sure to make it big enough next time!), what I'm wondering is (one's 16x12, the other's 16x24 - which would have been big enough if I hadn't tried to make it a bridge over two rock/cliffs), should I use them both for my Tales from the Past in one post, or use one for Tales from the Past (I guess the abbreviation TP would never do... ) and one as *just* a free build?
Sebeus I Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 That is pretty cool - is it magic based? Or does it run on some other sort of power? I imagined it to be pedal-powered (like a bicycle) although I had the Idea to power it by 'waterbending' (Like the submarines in Avatar: the last airbender).

I would say, use 1 for the Tales and 1 as a freebuild But it kinda depends on how you want to show your story @Sebeus: Woop Woop Edited June 8, 2013 by Damaximus

Maxim I Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I forgot to post 'The Amazon' in here, so: And her twin sister 'The Slave' takes part in a mission in Nocturnus: check it out here! (especially when you want to see some older characters of GoH) (click the pictures to go to their topic) Oh, those who remember my past MOC's, may find this last one surprising
robuko Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 (edited) So, how shall we best find a Lord Regent of Kaliphlin (LRoK)? While I could simply appoint someone to rule, I feel it is more of the Kaliplin way for suitors to win over the the hearts (and purses) of the great Merchants and Lords of Siccus badlands. And a great assembly of Kaliphlin should be be convened so that we shall vote on the first LRoK ? -- Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Working directly with Dex/others to ensure smooth operation of governing of the Guild affairs. Potentially participation in future planning of possible hypothetical event(s) and challenge(s) Tying Dex's shoes. We could try democracy, despotism, or divining the entrails. The PGTC will prosper under any system of rule. We are firm supporters of the rule of Flagg, it is his oil revenue that keeps us rich, fat, and happy, and out property prices absurdly expensive, allowing us to raise cheap debt and build coastal villas. Our votes can certainly be bought by any of the candidates, though we prefer an enlighted technocratic administration for this particular job and we would certainly support Ska, Masa, or Kai's candidature. In the matter of skulking, becloaked, and goatee'd Grand Viziers, it is an entirely different set of qualifications we look for and Lord DaMaximus would be the ideal choice. Some great free builds coming through guys! Love it! The sandstorm idea is a brilliant one but I will not realistically be able to contribute much, maybe a small vig. Let me know if I am designated a particular scene. Sweet tag! Edited June 9, 2013 by robuko
Kai NRG Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 And here's another free-build from me... Mypa Steador Transport
