Kayne Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Sounds like a nice haul! I have run into that with BL sellers too....I just give up and go somewhere else. I figure they just won't get much income, if that's how they run their business. I happened to be grocery shopping at Wally world today and found the Rattlecopter at 50% off clearance. I picked it up, because clearance legos are like crack....Not sure what I'll do with all of the lime green, but still some nice pieces in there like the Lt. Bley 1x1 Round tiles and 2x2 Round tiles, brackets, etc

Kai NRG Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I'd love to find the Rattlecopter 50% off... nice find! And I see I'm not the only one who has no idea what to do with their lime green...
Lord Vladivus Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Nice! Let me know if you find a good use for lime green! We've got a ton of it too. Large desert dwelling snakes?
Rogue Angel Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Lime green can be useful for swamps, but that is more of a nocturnus feature.

SkaForHire Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 This letter was delivered to each of you by a man in a white turban. It is in the hand of Dugal. DSC_2014 by skaforhire, on Flickr Lords of Kaliphlin, If you have received this, I am dead. It is for this reason I send this missive to you, as I know I can trust few in these dark days. I hope that I have fallen in the successful defense of Queenscross, but if I have fallen to an assassin’s blade, I fear it may have been my brother Petera, or whoever inhabits the manor at Eastgate in his guise. I have set forth a chain of command that my younger brother Paulos should assume command at the army at Queenscross, I know that he has not been compromised. If Petera moves to remove Paulos, my fears can probably be confirmed. Here is our dark family secret that I cannot allow go to the grave with me. Petera was actually Victor’s apprentice from age 12 to 16. He has said little about this time, but there is a chance that he has been turned by Victor. My death may cement that theory into fact. Petera has created a great magical shield over Eastgate, which is why we never suffered any attack there by the elementals. He is very well loved by the people, and attacking Eastgate at this hour in our war would be counter-productive. I think that Petera has been compromised in the last few weeks. Either he has been replaced by a doppelganger or his mind has been changed. His last clear order was to send troops to Mpya Stedor, since then his actions can all be questioned. In my absence, I hope that a few of you would do me a favor. DaMaximus, being a proven general, I would ask you to take control of Eastgate after the war and until the Board of Trustees can meet and affirm a new leader of GEAR and the city that is not Petera. You may be the only Lord in Kaliphlin with a large enough army to accomplish this. Mikel, Masa, or Ageven if you would be so kind as to make my fiancé disappear, in the good way, she is in grave danger being in Eastgate right now. I fear that Petera will end her life. Merith needs protection and hidden somewhere safe, all of you are great travelers and probably have an idea where to hide someone that needs to stay hidden. Rasputin, I know our merchant houses compete, but if GEAR should fall apart, I wish you to take over our trading empire. Petera may move against the Board of Trustees to create a unilateral decision in his favor. If it comes down to that, please raid my ships and take them as your own. I hope that Saladus fights his retribution, and am sad that I will not live to see it. Finally, one last favor. In one months’ time, I request that each of you to send one of your strongest and most trusted men to the coordinates listed at the end of this letter. If I am successful, there will be a mission waiting for them that requires talent and strength that only an elite team could handle. (if you want to participate, post a picture / name of who you are sending). Farewell my friends, and I wish you all hope and victory in our war against Victor.
Maxim I Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Lord Damaximus has received the letter and cursed with somewhat every curse he knew. The lost of Dugal and the betrayal of Petera Maclean caused heavy emotional reactions by him. As it is nothing more than his duty to accept the last favors of his friends, he will take control of Eastgate after the war (if everything will go as planned, by then he will probably be emperor) and stay there until the Board of Trustees have appointed a new leader. He also will send his best most trusted soldiers by the end of the month! Those will probably be soldiers from Ximus or Amenor as they have no relations with Historica and they came to here to fight for glory!
Mike S Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Gaius Kaleci- trusted Kalores liegeman and Overseer of the Kalores estate recieved the letter from the man in the white turban. With a heavy heart he returned to his chambers. "Today yet another of Historica's heros has fallen, and still I have no word from Mikel," he muttered to himself. He stared out the small window of his residence for a few moments and then turned and left the room. He knew what Mikel would have done had he recieved the letter so he began preparations to ensure Merith's safety. To be continued....
Kai NRG Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 It is with sorrow I hear of the death of Dugal, as it seems Gaius (MK) has taken steps to insure Merith's safety I trust she will soon be in good hands. Is it possible that she could know some of the plans of Petera? Me thinks the utmost care must be taken that such a strong and important city does not fall to Victor or join his cause! Out of character... I am a bit behind on my story actually, Victor hasn't taken Cedrica yet... just have two builds to go but I'd better move on because I can't do Challenge VI until that's done (unfortunately I am a bit bogged down as far as writing goes with a pile of reports I need to do within the month...), but anyway I have started building for Challenge VI so that's good. And I finished the mini-challenge but that also hinges on my story - probably a good thing as it will force me to write before the tenth. But anyway, as soon as I get to that point in the story, if Mikel needs any assistance Ageven would be happy to help.
gedren_y Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 This week I should have a small build of Squire Greisun on his return to Mpya Stedor. A few of Lloth's minions still linger on the route between Cobalt Vale and Mpya Stedor, and the Squire has taken the time to dispatch as many as he can. He is also bringing word that the Mitgardian Lord will travel to Berigora with the Peregrinus emmissary, to be picked up there when his ship next makes port there. Sdair's brothers will be in group of Cobalt Vale City Guards accompanying him.

Kayne Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I have received the missive from Queenscross, and I will send an elite member of The Nahtämatu soon to help with your mission. (I will post a pic soon!)
SkaForHire Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Sorry to those of you I did not have a specific mission for, I couldn't think of enough! As you all probably guessed, the warrior will play a part in my version of the final challenge storyline, just wanted a representative from as many as possible! Trying to make the storyline interactive too, as we are a pretty great little community here. From what I have heard from all of you, I am trying to make it all mesh OK with the various stories so that we can each keep the bulk of our story as "cannon." Of course Victor will die (or live) in different ways, but until that moment, probably most of our stories can still stand as official. What would be really awesome is if I can get some of the old Kaliphlin people to return and send a warrior...
PenPlays Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I have over heard your sad situation from some fools who didn't keep their mouth shut. Soon the University will be aflame with it! If a false-Avalonian took life, then an Avalonian will help make it right. Owlan will gladly join your mission to Cedrica to purify the world of this wretched wizard! (My character may not be Kaliphlin, but know that he will serve you well)
SkaForHire Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) I don't see why heroes from other parts who hear of this somewhat secret call couldn't send a representative. I know at least one Mitgardian will be there. Edited February 6, 2013 by SkaForHire
Kai NRG Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Just finished writing the story for a build I did a couple months ago... Topic That's the last build before my Mini-challenge build can be posted, so I'll finish that one up ASAP... I hope.
NiceMarmot Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Gex put down the letter from Dugal, and stared out the window of the guard captain's quarters in the Western Gatehouse in Messahmuk, pondering the ever-increasing difficulties of the war against Revolword and the higher and higher personal costs. Outside, there was the clatter of stonemasons' chisels and hammers, from the repairwork on the gatehouse, heavily damaged in an attack by earth elementals a week ago. Farther in the distance, rows of newly dug graves lined the ancient Western Shore Road. At least this gate is still standing, thought Gex randomly, the northern gate is still completely destroyed and impassable. "Is it authentic?" asked Butellius, the captain of the guard, whose men had received the missive from a white turbaned man on a camel from Queenscross. "Yes, quite so," sighed Gex. "I recognize Dugal's hand, and this is definitely his seal. The accompanying note, from Tyras, my factor in Queenscross, also attests that Dugal wrote and sealed it in his presence, and Tyras' word is unquestioned. Poor Dugal! I never suspected this of Petera!" "Then the situation in Queenscross is dire indeed. Dugal dead, and a larger enemy army than we feared approaching the city. If they take Queenscross, there's little to stop them before they reach the walls of Petraea." groaned Makenippa, the current secretary of the Council of Elders. Gex broke out of his solemn reverie, turned back to Makenippa, and his demeanor changed to one of action. "We need to send troops to Queenscross, immediately. I don't know where we'll find them, since we're sending the Southern Lions to help save Mypa Stedor. We can't let the enemy break through Queenscross, or worst-case, the Jackals' Teeth at the top of the Escarpment Pass. Otherwise they can ravage Mophet and the other oil towns on their way to Petraea. I'll send Growlfarghh the werewolf to the coordinates that Dugal requested; he's the best one for the job." "I'll call a Council meeting for tonight," said Makenippa. "We have no more troops to send. The Southern Lions are loading on the ships as we speak. The Silver Shields are half destroyed, and we need the remainder to protect Messahmuk, the valley, and the mines and armories at Erezhi. At all costs, we can't lose Erezhi, and we certainly can't let it fall into Revolword's hands." "I know," said Gex. "We'll have to think of something. Let's hope for some good news from Mypa Stedor..." This plays nicely into my story, as I was planning on Gex receiving a letter from Queenscross requesting help. Weather today is fairly good, so I'm hoping to get the build photographed and posted.
Maxim I Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 An upcomming build (hope to get it started tomorrow and finished by friday) will be about Lord Max Samu leaving the city of Mpya Stedor and riding out to the specific meeting point. He will have some other tasks as well in the meantime as he is still Master of the I.A.M.S. Just a question: is it only the hero we have to send? Or also a small army to accompany him? (I am thinking about 16 (cmf) Samurai's) Lord Damaximus will send; => To Queenscross: the Elite (Crossbow now) Archers from Mpya Stedor (around 35 very skilled men strong), 20 Mpya Stedor Spearmen, 30 dismounted Alleenridders, 20 mounted Alleenridders and 16 Drakrydar Knights (looking like Eomir from LOTR). King Dragonius XXV of Drakrydar will lead those troops on his golden dragon => To Valholl: the army of Atlarka (50 men strong, just regular norse soldiers) with King Donkon II as their leader => To Albion: 20 Avalonian Mercenary Spearmen (my unit of Avalonian Looking Soldiers ), 10 Alleenridders, leader: Sir Gah Rydog Pictures of those armies leaving Mpya Stedor will be posted soon @Gex, we have sent our fastest scouts to locate the Southern Lions in order to tell them the good news of the Victory at Mpya Stedor, so they can return to Messahmuk again
Infernum Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Could I send a warrior? I love all the amazing storytelling here! Great job guys!
SkaForHire Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 My apologies Infernum, I forget what guild you are in, but yes, of course -- all guilds are welcome to send a warrior --- we will assume that some of the Kaliphlin lords have sent messages to trusted lords in the other guilds. DaMax, one warrior for the task, it is small in scale, although the 16 warriors could perhaps be used to protect the main party's rear when they go on their mission? As for the army going to Queenscross, the commander there may have to split part of your force up to hit the supply lines of the Army of Corruption, because I won't have the representative figs for all of them, but I will get in as many as possible. Just wait until you see what the Hand has cooked up for this battle.
Infernum Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Ha, ha. That's OK. I'm in Mitgardia. I'll make a fig to send.
Kai NRG Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) My apologies Infernum, I forget what guild you are in... Mitgardia (right?). BTW, Infernum, it wouldn't be a bad idea for you to add that to your signature (better said, make that your signature, since you don't seem to have one yet). Just go to your settings page, you can edit it from there! Edit: Ninja'd. Edited February 6, 2013 by Kai NRG
soccerkid6 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I'd be happy to make a fig if you still want more
NiceMarmot Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 @Gex, we have sent our fastest scouts to locate the Southern Lions in order to tell them the good news of the Victory at Mpya Stedor, so they can return to Messahmuk again Yes, don't worry about the scouts. I've got that planned in a later part of the story. We will receive notice from one of our emissaries to Mpya Stedor just in time.
