SkaForHire Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I will probably enter, but it isn't going to be a show stopper. I just need to get through Queenscross first!!! I don't think I am going to have one of my characters kill Victor. Maybe I will just put everyone's name in a hat and then draw for who gets to kill Victor in my story line. I am surprised how good banks are nowadays with giving money back on fraudulent charges, especially since they are taking the hit most of the time.
robuko Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 (edited) Wow, Kayne, that sucks - but I'm sure your build will be excellent anyway. I have my story all scripted, but nothing built yet and I'm away from my bricks again. I have 5 days build time next week so that will have to be enough. I don't think I will be able to follow through on the interesting techniques I had planned in that time though . Actually, I should get some BL orders in pronto! I have far more than 3 scenes to make, so most of them will be extremely sketchy. I just checked under Tokyo station again for more lion knights - all gone! Ska, was it your brother? Gedren, I hope you do enter, we need all the entries we can muster, each one can score big points. Set your Challenge in the Herbology garden! Gideon, lots of great vigs and MOCs from you recently, I really liked them all. Edited April 6, 2013 by robuko
SkaForHire Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Nope, not me... Unfortunately, I don't have the money to up the red army any larger than it already is. I opened my last chess set to make DaMaximus and Masa's troops today.
Maxim I Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I am sorting the figs and some bricks right now. The problem is that Mpya Stedor will be a red coat city the next month as I have to prepare for Brickmania Wetteren (4&5 May, in Belgium), where my city will be a part of the Pirates lay-out. So it means I have to edit a lot of my figures (especially my red coat based "Ximian Elite Archers"). The positive thing is that my army has grown again thanks to the preparations I think we crossed the 650 soldiers ('we', because a lot of them are borrowed from my brother, who is much more into armybuilding then into MOC'ing) I hope I can start working tomorrow on chall VI! It will be 3 builds who are not that big (I think maximum will be 32x32), but I hope to add a lot of details to it But I think the story will be funny (a parody of a very famous movie)
Gideon Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I hope I can start working tomorrow on chall VI! It will be 3 builds who are not that big (I think maximum will be 32x32), but I hope to add a lot of details to it But I think the story will be funny (a parody of a very famous movie) How many in Kaliphlin are making Ch VI entries? If fewer than the maximum number of judged builds are in progress, then we should make sure to at least enter enough entries to get some points for all. Is it the best 5 builds from each guild that gets scored, or have I misunderstood the system? Anyway, I have one 60x38 MOC which I intended as a prelude to the battle of Queenscross (and built within Ch VI size limits just in case ), but didn't have time to finish before the battle started. I could enter that MOC as one entry in Ch VI but would need to make two more really fast builds if I am to make the Ch VI deadline... So what I'm basically saying is that I could probably enter Ch VI with a sub-standard entry just in case to at least get some points for my first build, if not enough entries are produced by you other guys. But if enough other builders with more experience, bricks and time are entring Ch VI anyway, I will focus on finishing my build as a Kaliphlin free-build and maybe make another one but not necessarily before April 30.
Rogue Angel Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I would suggest entering in ar least a partial CH VI entry and then maybe submitting another chapter as a free build later.
Gideon Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I would suggest entering in ar least a partial CH VI entry and then maybe submitting another chapter as a free build later. You mean like submitting part 3 as a free build if I can only squeece in one more build in April?
robuko Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Gideon, I think all builds are scored, so please do submit an entry. I will be submitting an entry, of which I have started the first build and done 3 scene-setting builds. I have 2 parallel stories, so I will build one first in case I run out of time for the other.
SSchmidt Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Hey guys, how does one go about joining a guild in GoH? I would love to join Kaliphlin!
robuko Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Welcome S Schmidt! Great to have you with us. Write a post telling us a little bit about your character, and post a picture of your band - and then you're in Kaliphlin! Great choice by the way. If you need help on posting pictures on Eurobricks (it's complicated, you have to deeplink them) then check this topic
SSchmidt Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Guilds of Historica - Schmidt of Barqa by SSchmidt--, on Flickr Here we have Schmidt, a smuggler living in the city of Barqa, in the western part of Kaliphlin. Schmidt's skills aren't limited to any one craft, but he excels at smuggling and the dealing of goods and information. He works for some very important nobles in the city of Barqa. On the left we see Schmidt's Man-at-arms, Lofgar. If it needs to be killed, Lofgar is the one to kill it. On the right we see Schmidt's personal thief, Logar. If it needs to be stolen, Logar is the one to steal it. Of course, any half-wit would know that Lofgar and Logar are brothers. Lofgar does the killing, Logar does the stealing, and Schmidt does the coin counting from a safe distance. Anyone with the common sense of a gnat would realize how unfair it is that Schmidt should benefit from the work of two. Unfortunately Lofgar and Logar have not the common sense of a gnat, but rather an amoeba. ***Hey guys, look forward to building with you!

Gideon Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 (edited) Welcome to Kaliphlin SSchmidt! Nice intro! My sigfig also lives in Barqa when not travelling around Hisorica. But I assume that Logar hasn't stolen anything from the mansion of Sir Gideon when he has been out of the city?? ;) Edited April 12, 2013 by Gideon
SSchmidt Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Welcome to Kaliphlin! So Schmidt is the brains, Lofgar is the muscle, and Logar is the fingers Nice intro! Put the three of them together and you never know what will happen! Thanks for the warm welcome! Welcome to Kaliphlin SSchmidt! Nice intro! Logar hasn't stolen anything you would miss, erm... I mean, if anything turns up missing it was your squire!
Maxim I Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 (edited) Welcome to our beautiful Kaliphlin, Schimdt, Lofgar and Logar! Barqa seems quite popular these days Maybe that is because the power of the I.A.M.S. is not that strong in the west of Kaliphlin (so thieves prefer Barqa instead of Qarkyr and Mpya Stedor ) I would recommend you to visit this site: http://guildsofhisto.../wiki/Kaliphlin There is a lot of usefull information about our Guild (also about the other Guilds, but they are not that important ) edit: here is the first part of my Chal VI entry: Not really an unexpected journey: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=81462 Edited April 12, 2013 by Damaximus
gedren_y Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 (edited) Last I heard of Qarkyr, they were only letting in small groups of travelers at a time. A small trade caravan that passed through there on their way to Cobalt Vale were thoroughly searched. They reported that a group of orcs that camped for the night too close to the northern gate were riddled with crossbow bolts by morning. Theft is down due to the heightened tension. The Nestlands forces that are readying for the fight against Victor Revolword may simply travel around Qarkyr on the Mountain Mummies' routes. Edited April 12, 2013 by gedren_y
Maxim I Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 In these unsave times, Qarkyr has indeed copied the laws of Mpya Stedor (found here: City Of Mpya Stedor). So only small trade delegations are allowed inside. If there are more soldiers to guard the trade caravan, they will have to make a campment or stay in the inns outside the city. Normally those places are safe as well. Qarkyr also make use of some I.A.M.S.-members to patrol in the city. This to ensure the safety of the residents
Maxim I Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 My great & mighty brothers and sisters of Kaliphlin, Those who read the first part of my entry (Not really an unexpected journey) will know that Lord Damaximus will besiege Cedrica. I know a lot of us sent troops to our brothers in need in Queenscross, but those who still have an extra army spare: feel free to join our army! Just post a painting (aka picture) of a bunch of soldiers/monsters together and you are in! Post it in my Chal VI topic. I am not going to make another epic battle again, so they will just be mentionned in the story But only send troops if you are still able to defend your cities without those brave men! deadline: 20 April note: also keep the whole month of June free as my coronation is planned then
Gideon Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 A painting has been found, depicting another of Historica's beautiful cities being harrowed by the Hand of Corruption. One can only hope that some people got away, and not only as servants or slaves to the Hand...

Logar hasn't stolen anything you would miss, erm... I mean, if anything turns up missing it was your squire! His squire is dead.... EDIT: BTW this is a total lie... he hasn't died yet. I was being dramatic. But he is in trouble. If I could just get time to finish the battle.... Edited April 14, 2013 by SkaForHire
robuko Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 What I have done in the last 4 days solid building - 2 WIPs (as well as the army stuff) This is the Royale Casino in Lost Vega This is King's College waiting on bricklink orders for the needed recolours. It really took me all of 4 days, but I am quite happy with both. Only 1 more building weekend to finish! Hope everyone else is getting there too.
soccerkid6 Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Impressive WIPs robuko! The roof on the kings college looks great
Maxim I Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Made 2 32x32 builds this weekend, and already took the pictures, but the uploading will be for one of the next days So the good thing is that I have the 3 builds who are necessary for the Chal VI entry. I also have already the story. The bad thing is that those 3 builds only illustrate the first Chapter of my chal VI story. But my brother bought Helm's Deep recently and hasn't started yet on it. So I hope I can make something out of it too (as that will be the only Lego I have in the next 2 weeks )
SkaForHire Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Robuko, those look awesome. I have been using the desert planets as domes, but those green ones look too. Also, how did you do the roof on the college? Maybe my eyes are going bad, but is that something different than just tile?
Maxim I Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Chapter 1 Part 2 : Embrace yourself, winter is coming by boat Part 3 : A march in April updated in my Chal VI entry (click picture below to see it)!!!
