Infernum Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 but what if we continue to shell out freebuilds? Ay, I've built two over the weekend.
Maxim I Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 @SKa, don't forget we have 2 gigantic freebuilds made in the past months (Battle of Mpya Stedor and Battle of Queenscross). I kinda hope that the judges consider them as not just a normal freebuild Also, I got something really big coming up soon (lets say 3.5 x 5 baseplates or maybe even more )
gedren_y Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I have Visiting Herbologists on the way. 64x48 with lots of interesting plants. Anticlimax: What By Goddess Were We Thinking will be my little addendum story. I know I won't get it finished in time for Challenge VI, so will probably end up as four to five freebuilds. I'm hoping my plan to use a page from my Cosmos book as a backdrop will work out.

I say well played Mitgardia, there were a lot of very high quality builds in that blizzard. My Challenge 6 story is up at last. It concerns Love and War.

It's just my entry to the Brickmania Wetteren event this upcomming weekend It will show Mpya Stedor with all the builds I already made for it The only difference between Brickmania and GoH will be the time as I will participate in a Pirate lay-out with my city. So I have to set up everything again at home and change the atmosphere to somewhat more medieval
Maxim I Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 I finished my entry!!!! No new pictures anymore, but a lot of story!!! So free digital cookie for the first one who can guess the second famous movie!! Check it out here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=81462
Gideon Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 The first part of my Challenge VI entry is finally up! I finally found time to set up and photograph what actually was my first build for Kaliphlin. The last build (interior) will be edited and posted tomorrow along with it's story. But I have a problem, which of the following smaller builds should I choose as my third scored build? Help me decide! Queenscross after the battle by Gideon_83, on Flickr On the road to Castle Zar by Gideon_83, on Flickr
robuko Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 ^Very nice, Gideon! No orcs or fire yet...looking forward to the finale! Both of those builds are outstanding in their presentation. While the aftermath of Queens Cross build has some very nice techniques, I would go for the last shot with the micro castle and mountains, it has something quite special about it and really catches the eye.
Kai NRG Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Great to see more entries guys! Gideon, both of those look great, but the second one is probably better. And then again, Cedrica in FP has become a bit cliche (especially among Avalonians), so you might want to go for the other one for variety. Maybe the best choice would be picking which one is more essential to your story?
soccerkid6 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 @Gideon: Looks good so far! I too think the second is the better choice
SkaForHire Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I personally think both are awesome. I would go with number two though as it seems to be in vogue right now, although in my mind #1 is better because you made a way better looking and more detailed version of my battlefield at Queenscross. Or is that planter with a tree and rubble just a total coincidence? I may be seeing what I want to see there... haha.

Or is that planter with a tree and rubble just a total coincidence? I may be seeing what I want to see there... haha. I think I'll go with the microscale one, it's the one I'm most satisfied with how it turned out. The Queenscross build was a more or less hastily assembled one for plot reasons, but I like the technique with the cloaks on the top of the figures heads. I don't know if I've seen it before, but I would be surprised if someone hadn't thought of it before me. And you are correct Ska, it is definitely based on your battlefield. The painter who made this small picture just paid a bit more attention to the details
Maxim I Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I would also go for the micro :) Anyway, as presentation is also an important part, I edited the first pictures: check it out here (click on the picture):
Gideon Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 @Damaximus: That Mpya Stedor engraved brick is awesome, how have you made that?
Maxim I Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 @Damaximus: That Mpya Stedor engraved brick is awesome, how have you made that? One of my fellow Belug-members is specialised in that :) I think it costs around 2$ each. But normally every lug has someone who can do this :)
Gideon Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) Final part of my Challenge VI entry is up! (First post updated) Edited April 30, 2013 by Gideon
Erynlasgalen Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Finally got my challenge VI entry up, with just barely a few hours to spare. Here's a teaser for it: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=81989
SkaForHire Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Good to see everyone got something in... I even squeaked out something, but I am so out of gas from Queenscross, that I really couldn't come up with a good third build. So I built some trees. Everyone likes trees. I managed to get an execution or three in there though... DSC_2390 by skaforhire, on Flickr
Maxim I Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 And as our beloved moderator didn't deleted my "WIP"-status, I decided to quickly (like in 2 hours) make a 4th decent MOC: Click on the picture to go to the first post! I am stunned by how many entries there are in this Chall VI. Really congratz to everybody here!!!
SkaForHire Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Well I think I finally got through commenting on everyone's Challenge 6... wow. So many!!! Great job to Kaliphlin especially, you guys worked your butts off.
Maxim I Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 (edited) told you guys I am working on a huge project (for Brickmania Wetteren this weekend). Here is a first teaser: there are indeed canons in it, but that's because I had to give my city a 'pirate' make-over Edited May 2, 2013 by Damaximus
kabel Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Ahh I see a ship! Not quite medieval, but its a beginning. Time to start on the naval academy!
