I'm planning to invest in some grey bricks, tiles and foliage. How much of each would you suggest getting?

Like DC said, more than you think! probably just double what you think you need.

I was fortunate enough to get a cup or two of foliage myself from a PaB wall. Unfortunately, I live about three hours from the closest Lego store and usually only get to it once or twice a year. Kind of a crap shoot when I go as to what they have available though. I did get a good deal on Craigslist the other day with 75 tree pieces (a mix of small and regular pine trees, fruit trees and couple palms and even 7 cypress trees for $25)

I think my kids and wife would hate it if I broke down my modulars. They typically get me one each year for my Birthday or Christmas and it is about the only Lego I'm allowed to keep in the living room! maybe one day when I get my lego room and my storage system more organized I can bring myself to breaking it down!

I'm almost done. All I have to do is take some pics for a few story scenes and edit those. That really takes longer than it sounds. I just worked on this pic for two hours and it has a few flaws in it. Damn photoshop kept eating my 1x2 plate built smoke.

good job on the background. As to photoshop eating the smoke, try using a mask (tons of photoshop tutorials to help)

Just notice the spots on the cows, are they photoshopped too or are they brickforge made?

I have a copy of the new joust built and sitting on my piano upstairs. I have a really hard time breaking down and using the yummy pieces. I recently bought a second medieval market village as well that my wife and I built that I have not taken apart either. Perhaps once I get into build mode again I will need the pieces and tear them both apart. Right now I am stuck being addicted to SWTOR...

One thousand 1x1 round plates costs sixty us dollars on LEGO.com's PAB.

Crazy huh? I cleared out one store on Bricklink when I found some for .02 cents each but they only had about 200

I need some advice on my Embassy. I plan to do a cheese slope floor but need help on the support base of the cheese slopes. If someone could show me or give me some information, it would be greatly appreciated. :classic:

When I created my deer mosaic for my tower, I used a base of six 1x8 tiles underneath my cheese slopes and 1x1 plates and tiles. The top of my mosaic was slightly lower than the level of my tile floor, but if you are creating the entire floor with cheese slopes, The slight difference in vertical height won't matter.

In terms of horizontally, your slopes will match up exactly in one direction. In the other horizontal direction, you should match up as long as the total stud length is a multiple of 4 (I think. The slopes should match up to 3, 4 or 5 studs when laid down, I don't remember which it is though without being home to actually try it.)

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you were looking for, but I hope it helps.

@MikeyB The cow spots are photoshop'ed. I also got rid of the brick in the body. What is this mask trick you speak of? Can you pm me and let me know? I haven't read the tutorial's or put much time into messing around with photoshop.

Embassy Question:

" Make it interesting how your style of guild dwelling integrates into another lands unique flora and fauna. Will a Nocturnus embassy be polluting a pure environment? Will their be mystical snow fall in the desert? Trees growing where they shouldn't? desert in amonsgt a swamp?"

(from the embassy topic)

this says that one should take the building style and some scenery of your guild for your embassy but from the embassies I have seen so far (not many yet but still), for example Niku's Kalaph Arma, the building style is kaliphlinian (how do you say that? ) and so is the surrounding scenery. I'm not saying that it's bad I'm just wandering weather to build my embassy according to Mitgardian style (not that its so diferent from Avalonian) or not? and should i use some shrubbery or just snow? feedback would be useful :)

I wanted to know the answer to that question too!

I would say this was a suggestion more than a command, though I think you may get more points if you integrate your style of building and maybe some of your native vegetation with that of the land you are building in.

When I built my embassy in Kaliphin I really enjoy to build a desert moc and to step out of the Avalonian box.

But I guess we all think diffrently and for that I´m glad. However I think each person should build what they want, not what they think the judges will look at.

My 2 cents...

I'm building an Avalonian embassy in Mitgardia, which is in fact a Mitgardian building (looks like a viking long hall) but with heavy influences of Avalonia and the Avalonia Trading Company.

It should be good.
