Waitwut? I thought we were still able to enter on the 12th?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we still have 26ish hours left (otherwise I'm screwed!) I think Beerbeard is just messing around.

The deadline is the 12th. At the first second of the 12th it's over.

Firetruck.

In that case, I guess I can get on with other projects without the slightest bit of guilt that I didn't enter challenge III.

I believe so long as it is May 12 anywhere in the world an entry can still be made. I think the intent is the deadline is the end of May 12th where you live.

Aye..

But that still means I will be too late with my entry. I expected to do a lot previous week, but school projects ruined my LEGO moments.

I will submit my entry, I haven't been working hard for nothing no? But I'll have to exclude myself from the competition. :cry3:

Just take my entry MOCs as free builds, with a backstory.

I always thought the deadline was by midnight where ever it is May 12. that's the way the last two have been run.

And there he has to say that he won't be able to make it in time. And as i am not eligible to enter with an WIP (which i wouldn't want either), that's it for me with Challenge 3. I might enter the stuff as an free build.

The guardian is finished since Sunday but the final quest stage needs some polishing. And as i got the spontaneous offer to stay a week in Italy i rather have to pack my luggage then stacking bricks. Unfortunately.

Best regards, your entries rock! (Though we might have a hard time with Kaliphin.. :/ I'm sorry, i'm not able to help - my apologies!)

Prelude to Darkness

Well I just have entered the third challenge. I almost did not make it, I am sure yours would have been awesome Rolli. But hey as a free build means also points for our guild.

Cheers up¡ and enjoy Italy. :classic:

Okay, so the picture is kind of terrible, but I need a little help with the Gable.

The building I'm using these things for isn't supposed to be a particularly Fancy/Interesting building, so I want to keep the detail to a minimal. However, I still want to hide the exposed studs/ Make the Gable more plain looking, but I'm not sure how. Can anyone think of anything?

I'm not a huge fan of the slope/big Gable technique, as the Gable always seems to look quite busy. I would try and do the roof like Darkspawn tends to do his, but I don't have the slightest clue how. Is anyone familiar with how he builds them?

I'm talking about this kind of deal.

I want to apologize for my absence the past few months. :sadnew: The year has been much busier than I thought it would be and I haven't been busy with LEGO for months. I wasn't interested in it anymore but now I'm getting into it again, so expect some contributions of me soon! (Not very soon though, first I got exams and I'll have to catch up with many new sets. But I should be able to combine that with LEGO building. ) I already got some nice ideas and I'll first finish my building in Albion City.

I also want to say that you guys have build some awesome MOCs lately! Impressive!

Contact by personal message and I will be glad to take the time and show you in full detail how to do that. I may not have a moc expert badge but I can do some thing's they can't do. I can instantly figure out stuff as well as make new stuff from what I see. If you need anything, contact me. I got you covered. Front and back.

The roof technique Darkspawn has used is nice and easy, its just 1x2 slope bricks and then you build a roof out of plates and it lays on top of the slopes. To hold it in place you can connect it with hinge bricks or technic pins. I think I added this on my guide somewhere, if not I will add a section explaining it all. Then the info will be available for all who needs it. Beerbeard will sort you out anyway, but I will add this onto my guide.

a little offtopic: I will be pretty inctive for the next month or so. Diablo 3 will be released on Monday...

I'm not much of an RPG player, but I hope it gives you some inspiration!!

So as it turns out, I had been building it fine, but I had ignored the fact that there was round bricks lining the top on his roof, and so what I had built didn't look the same. I spent about an hour repositioning the hinges and swapping around where I had placed the tiles in order to try and make the roof look like it didn't have a big crack running through it, to no avail.

It's a shame. I want to do do the roof in dark brown, but 1x1 round bricks, 1x1 plates, and 1x1 tiles aren't available yet in that color. I guess I'll just have to live with the roof having a big crack in it.

It's not rpg, it's hack and slash. But yeah, it is a good source for building MOC

no YOU'RE a hack and slash! I really have no idea what that means.

RPG means more story driven, more plot, more "role-playing." Hack and Slash means " I just want to kill monsters and get experience and treasure. I don't care if your father was killed by the dragon, or how it came to live here, and I REALLY don't care if there is a way to convince it to leave peacefully because then I wouldn't get it's treasure, I would get less experience and I wouldn't be able to claim that I am a DRAGON SLAYER. At least that's the gist of it.

[snip] At least that's the gist of it.

Ohhhh... and all this time I though it was another name for the original Guns n' Roses.

Feels like the part when the party came to an end! Not much activit only in the voting thread. Challenge 3 is closed and I think we have some truly great entries from us Avalonians! Are you continuing building or are you enjoy the hangover from the party?

I´m looking forward to a "challenge free" time in the next months so we can focus on Avalonia. I´m excited about the free builds with some prizes as well! However my next moc is coming along very slowly! :sceptic: The summer is coming and I sure enjoy sitting in my garden right now!

Excellent work guys!

What a great bunch of entries! This challenge has been great fun to see and has produced so many amazing builds. Thanks to all those who entered, you have done your guild very proud.

Now challenge 3 is at an end, the crystals have been found and we can finally unlock the door to the most famous and legendary shrine in all of Historica. All of Historica now patiently awaits the moment when the shrine will be unlocked and we can discover what lies inside!

In the mean time however, there is work to be done!

This free time is not a time for relaxing, but a time for building! We must continue to make Avalonia into the mightiest kingdom. When it comes to free builds, we are the kings! Now is the time for you all to build some more of your lands, tell your stories and let the other guilds know who's the mightiest!!!

ZCerberus has posted a group shot of our mightiest warriors which I have added to the front page of the thread.

This has made me think that it is about time to work on our famous 'Flight Of Dragons' !

I am asking all members of Avalonia to post a picture of your Sigfig mounted on a horse. These will then be used as a kind of 'profile' picture. I would like to update the first post with a 'Flight Of Dragons' character bio section, so it will contain a picture of your Sigfig on a horse with your sigfigs name and a bit of information about your character.

So if you could each post your mounted Sigfig design and then give a bit of info.

Here's an example of what I mean-

Name: Owain

Rank: Lord

Age: 30

Weapons of Choice: Long Sword & Shield

Character Info: here you can write a short description that sums up your character best.

You can post them all here in our thread, then I will compile them altogether on the first post.

Once you have all done this there will be a small mini challenge for you all.

Keep up the good work guildsmen!

REX
