I also had our finest smith forge swords for our warriors. Embued with magics from our Wizard and a blade of Chaos Blacksteel with a tip of Golden Unicorn Horn. These swords will serve you well. Brilliant parts usage volcanicpanik! With swords like this- the victory is with us! I really like this names: Emrys, Valian, Halleon city. My own Ideas: Loreth, Aleoth, Urnuth, Aweth. A technical question to pass on to the judges though... the MOC is on a 32 x 32 baseplate, but I am intending to add a tile/SNOT border around it on all sides (probably two plates thick per side). I believe this type of thing is usually allowed, but I wanted to know what the policy is up front so I can modify the design if needed.

I will put them all in a list and you can have a vote to decide which one. I am very impressed with our new guildsmen and the mighty warriors he has brought, The Shadow Fang. We are honored to have you with us. With all the recent towers and fortifications going up I felt the village of Durnovaria needed a guard tower to keep watch. The village will be a busy trade center, so a tower to keep an eye on things seemed a sensible idea. A small tower, just enough for the village. Work has begun on Ynys Wydryn, a mighty tower in the Mystic Isles that will be able to keep watch on the whole of Historia I'm still a little confused, Derfel. Your actions are understandable and I hope this will teach our enemies not to mess with the forestmen of Avalonia!

Protected by the Mists and an ultimate magical resource that could move the capital city isle in an emergency to another location, perhaps even flying. By the way, I have another idea for a name to the Capital... Dalaran...

It feels relieving the trade connections in the village are safe once again! The Avalonia Trading Company was already planning on building a brand new tower there, we would gladly present you a special gift as a token of our friendship and gratitude. Please accept this exotic gem! This flawless topaz comes all the way from the lands of Kaliphlin my lord. We have discovered an ancient abandoned watchtower, on a very strategic position near one of the trade routes. At this moment my men are working on the secret weapon which will be placed in the tower. All what I can say is the weapon came from the area what is now called Kaliphlin. It was crafted by skilled blacksmiths and melters ages ago, using ores and other materials from the lands we still don't know... Pictures should be up today or tomorrow.

Also, a request to the cartographers, could you put the watchtowers in the map where our guild members have put them.

Arlindus is the son of Orthus, a great woodsman who fled his homeland decades ago after trouble with the law. Orthus, and a group of companions, settled near the south coast of the Enchanted Forest. The group quickly banded together for protection against outlaw bands and ill creatures of the Forest. Overtime the group grew, began families and other wayward souls settled in the area. Circardia became the center of trade between many of the Elven clans and Humans in the southern Enchanted Forest and a safe haven for travelers. Orthus began the Phoenix Guard for those that wanted a new start. When one joins the Phoenix Guard, their past is forgot and they assume a new name. Many of the sons and daughters of the initial settlers are now members of the Guard as well. After finishing the inital training, and individual wishing to graduate the Phoenix Guard must survive 30 days in the wilds of the Enchanted Forest with only the clothes on their back and a dagger. Once complete, loyalty to the Guard and Circadia is unwavering. The Phoenix Guard learned many skills from the Elven clans over the years and is known for its woodlore, tracking, as well as archery and swordsmanship. Arlindus' father retired and passed command of Circardia and the Phoenix Guard to his son years ago. Orthus now acts as a ambassador between Circardia and elven clans as Arlindus protects the lands around Circardia. Photos for Arlindus and the Phoenix Guard will be posted soon. There are already so many structures/establishments to place, it's kind of overwhelming! More coming soon!

Derfel Cadarn Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Fellow Avalonians, As you may know, the High King of Historia has recently made an announcement about his concerns over the recent skirmishes. The plague known as The Drow have been behind most of the attacks, but we have been told not to fight back. The High King wishes to make sure that Historia will remain at peace. Who knows what the Drow's plan is, and what they really are. I fear we are on the brink of something sinister, but for now we must remain vigilant. There is an uneasy peace between Nocturnia and Mitgardia, but we have to uphold that peace as the High King commands it. Many years now, Avalonia has had a good understanding with our brothers in the south, Kaliphiln. We have had a strong trade connection and have always welcomed them in our land. We must continue to honor are friendship with Kaliphiln, and if they are ever in trouble, Avalonia will march to their aid. In these uncertain times it is important to strengthen our realm. We must continue to build and prepare for anything that may happen. Do not fear the Drow, their time of evil will soon come to an end, but it will not be easy. So I ask you all to keep the peace, but prepare. Our land continues to grow with more impressive builds. Our Commander Of The Capital has invented something he calls a Spy Glass, and its a pretty handy bit of kit, allowing us to see further, and so a faster warning can be sent if our enemies are ever sighted. Lots of names have been proposed for the Capital and there are a lot of great ones amongst them. I was originally going to name the capital 'Caer Cadarn'. Cadarn actually means 'The Mighty'. But I didn't go with this because too many people would just have thought I named it after myself As you have all obviously noticed, Avalonia is loosely based on the Arthurian legends as they are responsible for the vast majority of all medieval fantasy. This does not mean that everything needs a common Arthurian name, or even an Arthurian name at all. I usually name my builds after the more original/historic Arthur story. For example, the name Camelot would not have existed in Arthur's time as it wasn't invented until the 12th century. The oldest similar name from his time period would have been Camulodunum, a roman city in Briton during Arthur's time. These older names are the ones I usually use as they are not as well known and also quite interesting. Still, we need a name, so if someone would like to write up a list so people can vote, that would be most helpful. I urge you all to come up with a name for each of your mocs, as this will make it easier for our Cartographers, who are hard at work creating the map for our land. For example, I have named my upcoming village 'Durnovaria' and it will be situated outside the capital to the east. If you would like your buildings/mocs on our map then I suggest you give them a proper name and state where you would like it to be located. Although we will probably have to see an empty version of the map first, so we can then work out where our builds will be placed. I will leave this in the map makers hands for the moment. Keep up the great work everybody, you are the ones who make Avalonia mighty!
