Brickington Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Then you are of course most welcome to the great guild of Avalonia! Build your self a sigfig, claim some land on the map on the first page and get mocing! Thank you! That's what I wanted. I have always respected you and this guild. I will join this guild. I will post everything in a couple of days. Hopefully one day I can be as honorable as you!
PenPlays Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 For honoring us, you are honored. A resounding hello from the lands of Burrium, Brickington. You may hear discussion about a "main story" ending, but don't fret. The Guilds will still stand well after the sixth challenge.
NiceMarmot Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I may still try to immigrate. They said they would take me if I brought daffodils! The daffodils are for a garnish when they eat you
Maxim I Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Thank you! That's what I wanted. I have always respected you and this guild. I will join this guild. I will post everything in a couple of days. Hopefully one day I can be as honorable as you! Yeees, a new hippy to kick :D *stretches his legs*
PenPlays Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) Yeees, a new hippy to kick :D *stretches his legs* WUSSIE REPELANT! If our lands are flourishing with pot, at least it is STILL GREEN! The tight wearing, and brutally kicked Avalonian hippie has spoken. Edited January 15, 2013 by Penkid11
Zach Mills Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Hey again guys. Is anyone else at all worried about the fate of GoH after the end of the challenges? It seems like a number of people are as enthusiastic as they have been since the start, but you can't deny the fact that we have certainly lost quite a few members since it all began, and a scary number of others just aren't nearly as active as they used to be. There is also the fact that in between challenges finishing, and when we get the results back, our guild thread is like a ghost town. Y'all have any thoughts on the matter? On a somewhat unrelated note, I've considered switching back to fleshies again, but I'm going to need everyone else's input before I make up my mind. First things first, I switched to yellow primarily so that I would fit in, and be able to use peoples yellow sigfig designs, and because at the time there was a small number of castle style minifig parts that fleshies could use. One day, everything changed when the LOTR sets attacked. Since then, it seems like a number of prominent builders have switched to fleshies, and I admit, I've had an awful lot more fun playing around with fleshie figs recently than I have with yellow. This is coming from someone who can't focus on two things at once (my excuse for the lack of GoH stuff recently) so I'm tempted to just go back. The thing is though, everyone has all there characters in yellow, so every time I want to feature someone (something I will want to do a lot of) I'll have to go about nagging them for a fleshie alternative of their character. Maybe I'm over thinking again. I should really get out of the habit of posting long paragraphs on Eurobricks at 2 in the morning.
mephistopheles Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Honestly my biggets problems are the challenges themself. I joined GOH too late and missed out on the challenges like building a Watchtower. These new challenges are way too big for me. Since I keep my MOC's I can't finance such big challenges. On the other hand I think GOH is a great thing besides tha challenges. I'll keep building Woodward and once my settlement is big enough I will make scenes in it including sigfigs from other guilds and fellow Avalonians. Don't narrow down GoH to the challenges only. I think most of us love our characters and stories!
ZCerberus Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I think Meph is right. The ability to free build all you want is going to be attractive to a lot of builders. And just because there won't be "major challenges" doesn't mean the lands need to die. A suggestion, if I may... how about in your challenge VI entry, you shape the future of Historica? Make a suggestion as to where the story is heading since after CH VI, you will have more influence over where the story goes.
Captain Blackmoor Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I may still try to immigrate. They said they would take me if I brought daffodils! We have a traitor in our midst?? How can that be? Otherwise, go ahead, move to Nocturnus and we will never have to trade again. Brickington! Welcome to the lands of Avalonia! If you need lumber or specific, exotic goods, the Avalonian Trading Company is at your service! If you bring the gold, that is.
ZCerberus Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 We have a traitor in our midst?? How can that be? Otherwise, go ahead, move to Nocturnus and we will never have to trade again. Avalonia seems eager to get rid of me! I'm just saying, lots of vacant land over in Nocturnus. Plus they have sweet minotaurs and cyclopses and stuff. Swampland is the new beachfront property!
Maxim I Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Avalonia seems eager to get rid of me! I'm just saying, lots of vacant land over in Nocturnus. Plus they have sweet minotaurs and cyclopses and stuff. Swampland is the new beachfront property! Indeed! They are the new place to be in Historica! Do you want safety? Do you want privacy? Do you want to own a lot of land? Go to Nocturnus!!! More info? Contact the Kaliphimmo Agency, specialist in Historica real estate! (real life note: I am actually studying for real estate agent )
ZCerberus Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 The three biggest things to remember in real estate are location, location, and inhabitants comprised of many exoctic species!
mephistopheles Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) I have been thinking for quite a while now that I want to do some MOC featuring the past of Lord Mephistopheles. I never published anything about it, but I always imagined him with a Nocturnian origin. When Artorious Rex and his Flight of Dragons moved into Avalonia he took his chance and left Nocturnus and joined Avalonia. I often thought about a storyline like "Mephistopheles: Origins" which show Lord Meph in its "original (born) form". Yep, he is not human. So I could build MOC's for Nocturnus set in the "past" and show who Lord Mephistopheles was and why he left Nocturnus. Could we arrange that those free builds count as if I were a member of Nocturnus? Edited January 15, 2013 by mephistopheles
Zach Mills Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 ZC, if you do head over the border, would we get another temporary leader?
Dr Rod Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I may still try to immigrate. They said they would take me if I brought daffodils! *DEAD* daffodils only please. Dr Rod
Brickington Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 What's the easiest way to get multiple Avalonian soldiers?
SkaForHire Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 What's the easiest way to get multiple Avalonian soldiers? Oh oh! I know this one! Show them an army from any of the other guilds, and they will come flocking back home to hide! ---- On a serious note, find a Kaliphlinite that wants to go splits on the chess set. Probably the best way to get some Avalonian looking soldiers.
MikeyB Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 the new Chess board gives you 12. I have found them on Bricklink and ebay for about $2.00 each. If you have a lot of other minifigs and castle helmets and weapons, you can probably get the torsos off brick link for about .75 each less than a $1.00 each
ZCerberus Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 ZC, if you do head over the border, would we get another temporary leader? Would you like that? Temporary leader? Zach makes ZC sad.
PenPlays Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 You know, we could all just build vacation homes in Nocty. We could earn points for Nocturnus and our corresponding Guilds for building there (Guild leader permitted, of course). Also, please direct all smack against Avalonia to the Kaliphlin Thread. All small trivialities belong there. Here we only speak of business. I still have leftover fruitcake/catapult ammunition if any one does wish to be equipped for the future.
de Gothia Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) Let the Kaliphlins have their fun. Sure we aaaall wear leggings and hugs trees but if we look at the scoreboard... those Kaliphlins are after the ones who wears leggings and hugs trees! "Mighty Kaliphlin"!!That´s got to hurt!! Hahaha! My latest BL order arrived today so I´m of to the Lego room! Edited January 16, 2013 by de Gothia
mephistopheles Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 My latest BL order arrived today so I´m of to the Lego room! I envy you. On the other hand I can't wait to see the results!!! Would it be too much to ask of a pic of your LEGO room?
Zach Mills Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Would you like that? Temporary leader? Zach makes ZC sad. Oh I'm sorry ZC! I think you're doing a great job! The reason I ask, is because I think GoH guild threads tend to be more active when there is some form of leader actively posting. If you left us, all us army grunts would act like a bunch of dogs chasing cars!
ZCerberus Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Well as a History Regulator, I will still be around. DC has been around too and he will continue as well. We'll see what shakes our in the end.
de Gothia Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I envy you. On the other hand I can't wait to see the results!!! Would it be too much to ask of a pic of your LEGO room? Ok, it´s not a room! More like an attic... Nothing to see really. 3x1 meter... small and cosy!
