kabel Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 So you the greatest number of different individuals who have won a challenge... Is that what you're saying? yea, Cara won two challenges, Torgar one, can't remember the other winners but that's already 3 out of 5!
Ecclesiastes Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."
Cwertle Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I only joined Avalonia because I like structured armies, not random ones that you wouldn't know who they belonged to. Well i joined so i dont have to drink the other guilds shitty beer.
SkaForHire Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Didn't Gabe win two of the challenges? Although I can't remember the last time he posted... (October :( ) Wow, this thread blew up fast! I am a Buffalo Bills fan, so yeah I win the losing sports team reference! (If I need more credentials, I root for the Blue Jays and the Cavaliers too...) Also, boasting the most members (by a lot) and points (by a little), does not necessarily equate to a good argument that the best live here in Avalonia. You all have many more entries than the next guild, and are not winning by the biggest margin -- meaning the points per build are actually a lot lower than the other guilds probably. So before we start throwing around championships and points totals, you all should probably stick to your strongest suit -- the large quantity of HIGH quality builders you all have and the amount of tights you produce per week. Both are higher than the other guilds. Well i joined so i dont have to drink the other guilds shitty beer. That is a good reason, but I find Avalonian beer too fruity.
Kayne Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 no gabe won 2. I don't know of this Gabe of whom you speak. We stick with lower case g's in Kali!
Cwertle Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 That is a good reason, but I find Avalonian beer too fruity. Well, maybe you havent tried all of avalonias beer.
Legonardo Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 That is a good reason, but I find Avalonian beer too fruity. I think you've mixed it up with Glevums cider...
Maxim I Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Well i joined so i dont have to drink the other guilds shitty beer. Lame excuse In Kaliphlin we got all the best ales and wines from every corner in Historica and the rest of the world we are traders and open minded! @Brickington: you see, narrow minded Avalonians @de Gothia I admit, I got somewhere a soft spot for Avalonia (luckily most of you forgot the day I arrived in Historica) as they are funny (but still barbaric). But about being the best Guild, well like I said, RSC Anderlecht is almost always champion here in Belgium, but that doesn't mean that they play the most beautifull games or even the best games (sometimes they just win with the help of the referee...)
Brickington Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Well i joined so i dont have to drink the other guilds shitty beer. Made my day. Thank you for being funny!
soccerkid6 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 What does this mean? Torgar, Ecclesiastes and Soccerkid are all BA builders for sure. Not sure what BA stands for but it seems like a compliment As to who's the best guild here's what DC says about it : Lots of great stuff from mitgardia! The guild looks strong, with so many great builders, it looks like you are holding all the aces. It will be hard to compete
Legonardo Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Not sure what BA stands for but it seems like a compliment believe its badass? God knows how drunk our leader was when he said that yes you are a great guild, lots of strong builders. hard to compete? nah
ZCerberus Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 yea, Cara won two challenges, Torgar one, can't remember the other winners but that's already 3 out of 5! Sorry bro, but you're wrong. Torgar and Cara have had the top score a total of ZERO times. I won't say who had top score where, but in the 5 challenges Mitgardia has had top scorer 1 time, Kalphlin 2 times and Avalonia 2 times. So 1 out of 5 m'boy. I don't want this to turn into a pissing match, but you clearly don't have accurate information. So now that it has been clarified, no questions, please.
Cwertle Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Elessar yavetil, half elf and newest member of avalonia. :D And a largish vignette I just finished, some ruins of a tower now inhabited by outlaws.
Rogue Angel Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Comparing Avalonia to the Yankees is a bit off. You hate the Yankees because they are a bought and paid for team. The Yankees should be in every World Series because they're so much money sunk into them. When a small team like the Brewers makes it to the playoffs, it's a huge accomplishment because they earned it. In actuality, those that join Avalonia are making it harder on themselves to win competitions because there are so many active builders here. On the flipside we have Nocturnus, with the fewest active builders (although that has not kept them from submitting a top tier build for every challenge!) so theoretically this would be the best guild to join if you were trying to win competitions. The appeal of Avalonia is that it is your standard setting for a lot European classic adventure literature (Robin Hood, King Arthur, Ivanhoe) and it's what comes to mind when a lot of people think of their standard castle setting. It has the large forests and has the sprawling lowlands of the agricultural bread basket of Historica. And it has Elves. Mitgardia and Kaliphlin are very good alternatives for the standard mid-to-southern Europe landscape. Mitgardia captures your Vikings and mountainous regions, while Kaliphlin covers all of your Arabian tales, and Mediterranean climes. Nocturnus doesn't fall into one of the cookie-cutter categories you'd think of for building. It's something a lot of people might like to build in upon occasion, but then they head back to the more standard castle setting. I think that Nocturnus builders are the most daring and innovative of all the guilds because they have to think outside the standard "castle box" if you will (and I will). People have a much harder time envisioning swamp than they do forest or desert or moutains. In the end, for me it came down to Elves. They were in Avalonia, so that's where I am.
Infernum Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Yeah, I agree with everything said here. Avalonia has Elves, and basicly fits your standard idea of castle well with forests and knights.
Dr Rod Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I love the smell of conflict in the morning Sweet regards from your eastern friends. Anyone feeling drawn to the darkside yet? We have a nice feast coming up! Yes, and we need more attendees so there is more to eat for everyone!! Dr Rod
gedren_y Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Well i joined so i dont have to drink the other guilds shitty beer. Sdair Zuuree says, "Uhgh alcohol! But if you drink, the Nestlands Clans make blue mead and schwipper spirits. Both will get you riotously drunk in time, but schwipper spirits won't leave you with a hangover in the morning." Ska: gabe hasn't been here since Oct. 14. His presence has been missed.
Legonardo Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 YUS! well not really, but due to subject clashes I have had to sacrifice doing A levels and O levels + NCEA in math to just NCEA. heaps more LEGO time for this year!
PenPlays Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 I won't say who had top score where, but in the 5 challenges Mitgardia has had top scorer 1 time, Kalphlin 2 times and Avalonia 2 times. I thought Elder Susans were allergic to bragging. YUS! well not really, but due to subject clashes I have had to sacrifice doing A levels and O levels + NCEA in math to just NCEA. heaps more LEGO time for this year! All I got from that is "Smart stuff." I'm happy for you (I think), but Im afraid I don't understand. I'm getting so freaking tire of all of this sports crap! I'm with you, Susan Jr., when I say I don't follow sports at all.
kabel Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Comparing Avalonia to the Yankees is a bit off ... oh man, I thought it was obvious that my comments were meant rather ironic and self referential. I actually like the whole GOH project!!
Rogue Angel Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 oh man, I thought it was obvious that my comments were meant rather ironic and self referential. I actually like the whole GOH project!! I wasn't saying you didn't. There were a number of Yankees references, and since I despise them, I figured I'd chime in.
Brickington Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Was GoH always full of this smack talk, or is it just recently. I came trying to get away from the ToR III smack-talk, but this keeps on going on and on.
soccerkid6 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 @Brickington: Always been some, not near this much though
Cutcobra Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 I think you've mixed it up with Glevums cider... Or he mixed it up with horse poo. You know horse poo is mistaken by beer an awful lot of times. It happened very often.....to my eehhh friend....
