Oky Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Well? Did we get him? How many hours are "a few" in the demented mind of the Joker?
The Penguin Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Stay cool, Freeze! I sure hope ADHO will turn up soon and finish the day. )
ADHO15 Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 I'm going to delay Day Seven until tomorrow seeing as the Night was cut short and people clearly haven't had time to keep up. Get those night actions in!
XimenaPaulina Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Day Six has begun and will last 72 hours. -------------------------------------------- Rules 3. A game Day will last a maximum of 72 hours. I'm going to delay Day Seven until tomorrow seeing as the Night was cut short and people clearly haven't had time to keep up. Get those night actions in! Not to be pushy and I don't mean to be rude but shouldn't the next day proceed even without the night actions of those who forgot to send theirs in? It's already more than 72 hours, and I know it's not the hosts that cause this delay, but I feel it's kinda unfair to those who religiously follow the rules. I also trust in the hosts that they wouldn't count any night action that doesn't meet the deadline, even if it would ultimately hurt my own side as a player, just to be fair to all players.

Like I said, I thought it would be better to make the Night longer than cut it shorter as it gives people in all time zones chance to catch up and sort out their actions. We shall try to be more punctual with the timings of the coming Days.

We shall try to be more punctual with the timings of the coming Days. I'm sorry but I actually don't understand why 24 hours is not enough for dedicated players to send in their night actions. By my count it's already more than 36 hours since the Day has been closed, and I think that that is more than enough time to give leeway to *cough* forgetful *cough* players. And that is why there is a 24 hour time stated in the rules of the game right? And it' was never stated there that the Night stage will be extended to give chance to other players to send in their night actions. Like I said, I feel it's totally unfair to those who religiously follow the 24-hour rule and send their night actions in time. I don't like the idea of bending the rules for other players. If I were the one who forgot to send my night action, I will accept the fact that I did not get my night action in time and I'll be ready to accept any penalty or consequence of such offense. If the delay was caused by the busy hectic schedule of the hosts that is perfectly understandable, but if it's due to the players inability to send their night actions in time then that is totally unacceptable IMO.

If the delay was caused by the busy hectic schedule of the hosts that is perfectly understandable, but if it's due to the players inability to send their night actions in time then that is totally unacceptable IMO. The delay was not only because several players hadn't sent in Night actions. Days ending early, with conclusions being posted later and then allowing time for Night actions and extra time after that to make the next day is all very tough to fit into twenty four hours, especially considering we two hosts need to find time meet and organise what will happen in the conclusion/next morning. That is why we really need Actions in on time. It should be stated that ending the Day early will not make the next Day come any quicker. The Penguin and I have a schedule worked out so that we have a maximum of six hours between the end of the allowed night action time and the beginning of the next day. Obviously our time zones are four hours apart and we both have other real life commitments, so it's not easy to rearrange our schedules to accommodate shorter Days, so that will result in longer Night periods. You're right, KDM, that perhaps I'm being a bit too lenient on these people, so I shall be much stricter for the remainder of the game. If your night action is not in within the allowed time stated in the thread, you will face the consequences. Edited December 6, 2011 by ADHO15
XimenaPaulina Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 *snip* Like what I've said, I perfectly understand the two-host set-up that you and The Penguin are in, and I'm not pressuring the both of you in any way. What I was simply pointing out is that the players not sending their night actions in time is what is unacceptable. It's just the way you worded your post gave me the wrong impression that you are allowing late night action senders. If you phrased it like "Day 7 will be up when The Penguin and I have sorted things out, but no late night actions will be accepted beyond the deadline", then that would have been better. Sorry about this mini-rant, I just have to vent out how I feel about players who seem to be taking the rules for granted.

I understand, and I completely agree with you, so I shall start to crack down on these rulebreakers from now on. The decision was based a little on both reasons, but I suppose Day 6 is not a time to still be lenient. Sorry for the confusion caused.
TheBoyWonder Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I am on Kiel's side of the argument. I have to turn my computer off at seven due to irl issues, but I still get my night actions in on time, despite being in a different timezone. Leniency in a Mafia School? Yes. In a full Blown Mafia Game? No. Some of us here are first timers, and will make mistakes, but we still give it lots of effort. But if highly experienced players make these mistakes, one that affects not just their team, but all the participants while breaking the rules/bending the rules then that is not quite right. I can see why you are doing it, but it is not the right choice.
ADHO15 Posted December 6, 2011 Author Posted December 6, 2011 snip I'm not sure why you bothered to post all that when your most recent action was late and one of the last to come in. Anyhow, Day Seven will hopefully begin in the next couple of hours.
Jedi master Brick Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Somthing has came up so I will not be able to come online from friday morning to monday morning, sorry.
TheBoyWonder Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Did not think it was late. Thought it was just on time. I have checked, and it seems I was 3 hours late. I am sorry about that. But my point still stands. Okay, it may of been late, but it was not the latest, and definitely not prolonging the night by nearly a whole day. But it is the first time, and my first full blown Mafia. It is a mistake that should not have happened. However, It will not happen again this game!

sok117 Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 the plot thickens with each new day. IT may just be the comic book fan in me, but the days are a pleasure to read. Awesome job on the hosts part!
