Alasdair Ryan Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Don't you think that the tower might be a bit small in terms of height by the time that you build the fort walls up? Quote
Piratedave84 Posted December 9, 2011 Author Posted December 9, 2011 Don't you think that the tower might be a bit small in terms of height by the time that you build the fort walls up? Possible that it may be small however that's the beauty of RCB, others will have to work around what is there already, besides there are other places where a bigger tower could be built! Quote
Piratedave84 Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 First post updated with turn 3 I also finished revamping the look of the first post I really like what has been built so far, the classic look is captured perfectly and is looking awesome so far Quote
prateek Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Woah, Nelly! This is already so humongous! How are we gonna fit 16 turns? By the end it will be more of a port town than just a fort. Quote

There is ample room to expand away from the 2 towers, I am not concerned with space at this point Quote
Piratedave84 Posted December 14, 2011 Author Posted December 14, 2011 Masked Builder was not able to complete building during his alloted time and we agreed he would take his turn at a later time, First post updated with the new turn numbers Quote
Darkdragon Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Looking great so far. I'm excited for my turn to come one of these days. Quote
KotZ Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Thank you for allowing me to take part in this RCB. I'm glad I could help! Quote
Piratedave84 Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 Greetings, It appears that brickshelf is experiencing some type of difficulties as both myself and some other people, amongst others the current builder, are unable to log in or access our accounts, stay tuned! Sorry for the delays! Quote
Piratedave84 Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 YAY!!! First post updated with The Legonater's contribution. The model is comming along great, thanks to everyone for participating! Quote
Skipper Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Thanks for the link PirateDave! Had some time this morning so I've finished already. Remembered seeing this awesome Playmobil set a while ago, so I turned the tower into a lighthouse and added a cannon and crane. I'm quite happy with it. Have fun Masked Builder! Quote
Piratedave84 Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 Seeing that the holidays are litteraly "just around the corner" I may not be able to have the build move along as quickly as usual. Consequently, I will send the model to Masked Builder and allow for more time for the build, look fot he next update some time early next year! Quote
Bart Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Just downloaded The Legonater (04) his work, but can I savely asume the door is not supposed to be stuck underneath the model? about the build, I like the way it is going great work so far :) Bart Quote
Piratedave84 Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 Bart, you are right skipper deleted the door already! Quote
Bart Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Okay thanks, Didn't know that Skipper did that his work is not yet visible for us. Bart Quote
Piratedave84 Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 First post updated with turn 5. The model is coming along great, I really like the lighthouse/watchtower! It really feels like a classic pirate model keep it up! Quote
MattTheLegoman Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 It really feels like a classic pirate model keep it up! Totally agreed, this model is going to be awesome! Has anyone actually decided to buy one of these RCBs in real LEGO? Quote
Piratedave84 Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Totally agreed, this model is going to be awesome! Has anyone actually decided to buy one of these RCBs in real LEGO? you know I always wondered if anyone had bothered to build a model of past RCB's. The problem with "buying" the model is mostly ... well .. the 5000 bricks!!!!!! Several times, I have thought of building the RCB 2 (medieval) model, I'm pretty sure my collection would allow it, but it'd be a time consuming thing!! There are chances I will build this model after it's all over ... if my wife let's me buy a bazillion bricks!!!! Quote
Piratedave84 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 First post updated with turn 6. 1/3rd done and it looks great!!!!! NOTE: I will be on vacation away from home from the 9th to the 17th inclusive. BrickDoctor will be taking over hosting duties during this time and as such builders whose turn are upcoming (Darkdragon and CallMePieOrDie) will need to send the completed model to BrickDoctor (instructions reflceting this will be sent to you by PM). Calabar Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 The next step is almost ready! Be patient, PirateDave is on Holiday! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 PirateDave is on Holiday! But you're in good hands! Quote
Piratedave84 Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 --- IMPORTANT UPDATE --- A new version of LDD, LDD 4.2.5, was just released!!!! Please ensure you download the newer version before your turn as MANY bricks were added; The nice thing about this version is that there is no need to manually activate extended mode. Read all about it here! Quote
Piratedave84 Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 First post updated with turn 7, Note that i have been away for some time and sick this week so turn 8 has yet to appear!!!! I pledge to update the first post tonight with turn 8!!! The building is getting along quite nicely! I am very eager to see where it will take us seeing that the walls are now almost complete and there is little room to expand inside the fort .... what's next!? Quote
