I was at the mall this weekend when I came across the new Dino sets at the LEGO store, I couldn't help but pick up a few of the impulse sets; they all looked so cool that I would have gotten them all if I had the available funds. So instead I picked up a small cup of grass to go along with a couple of the other smaller sets.

This vignette was pretty much inspired by the original Jurassic Park, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out; especially my blacklight shot.

Thank you for viewing, C&C always appreciated.

That is a very nice MOC, SSBM (yeah your name was too long to type  )!

Stacked grass stems works great as high grass and the way you can glimpse the dinos is an awesome effect. The night shot is well done too, but I'm not sure about those luminous 1x1 trans-bright green plates, they seem a bit too sci-fi to me.

I love the new minifig, I think I need to bricklink it when it becomes available.

Nice use of the new raptors. You have given this MOC and very Jurassic Park feel to it.

Radioactive dino poop! *oh2*:look::grin:

Very nic MOC SmoothSexualBrickMaster, I like the torch effect in the night shot. But, exactly how many of the Ambush Attack sets did you get? *huh* I can't tell how many raptors there are because of the grass. I'm definitley gonna have to get some of these sets, that minifig face just looks so useful, as well as the torso, and, as shown here, the dinos.

Exellent work, and I hope to see more Dino MOCs from you soon. :sweet:

Really cool! ordinarily I'd think that there was far too much grass, but when I noticed the dinosaurs hidden inside, I knew why it was there and then my perspective on the MOC changed - but this is a well exacuted idea and it shows just how well the camoflauge on the dinos works!

This is really an awesome little scene there. I like the light-fx shot very much! Although the 'saurs appear to be walking by, instead of preying their predator, although this might be due to their limited (rather nonexistent) articulation. A rotatable neck would have worked wonders for this MOC.

Nevertheless you prove the potential behind the new Dino-line. Which is good! All opposable thumbs up there!

Be well all!

Edit: Good to get a better view of that vest-torso (it's from the Triceratops-set, isn't it?). My initial assessment was right then: It is Castle-compatible judging by these shots! Third thumb up!

Great little MOC you've got going there, the tall grass and hidden effect add a certain tension to the scene !!! Not sure if I will pick up some of these dino sets, but Ill probably pick up the minifig somewhere !!!

Great job SSBM, once again name's a little long to type !!!, espically if your like me and your surfing on a phone .....

Great MOC 'SmoothSexualBrickMaster', those raptors....you can't trust them !

I don't mind the glowing round plates.....it adds a special dino touch - they aren't toilet trained are they ?

Brick On 'SmoothSexualBrickMaster' !

Quite nice!

If this is to be considered an actual Jurassic Park creation, it should probably go in the Licensed forum, since LEGO actually had an officially licensed Jurassic Park subtheme in the Studios line.

Thanks, and I wanted it to have a bit of a Sci-Fi feel to it; though I agree that the neon green may have overdone it a bit. This fig is a combination of two of the new figs, but all the new figs are really cool, and useful.

Awesome creation, love the raptors in the tall grass!

Thank You! As soon as I saw these sets I knew I had to put this scene together.

Thank You, and I'm not sure if these little guys are technically raptors or not; because I got the Raptor Chase set as well which comes with a larger, much more poseable raptor.

Haha, and Thank you! I picked up three of the little impulse sets and the raptor chase set, but there's only 2 raptors in the grass. I definitely plan on making some more dino related MOC's. This is pretty much the one theme I had hoped for as a kid so I'm really excited for this theme.

Thank you very much! The green on the Raptors blends perfectly with the grass, definitely makes for a nice camouflage effect.

Thank You! I was going for the illusion that the raptors where simultaneously circling the fig from opposite directions. I wanted to use the raptor from the raptor chase set, but I felt it was too big compared to the fig; at least for what I was attempting. The torso is from the 30$ raptor set, it may also come in the triceratops set, not sure though.

Haha, Thanks! typing from the phone is definitely a pain! The figs are definitely worth picking up, very useful; and I'd recommend the dinos too, they're better than I expected.

Lovely funny scene!

Fantastic jungle grass, vey well made!

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you much, glad you like the scene!

Haha, never trust a raptor! Glad you liked the glowing plates, I felt they added that little extra sci-fi effect!

Quite nice!

Thanks! and it's just inspired by JP, the Raptors in the tall glass really freaked me out as a kid so I was stoked to be able to put my own spin on it. It's not an exact scene by any means.

Excellent! Great use of the brickarms machete too.

Thanks! Glad you noticed the BA Machete, I was torn between the simplicity of the Machete or the more movie authentic M110; but as you can see, the machete won out.

Alas, the mix-up was on my part! Checked my picture files again and found I jumbled mental images of both the raptor and triceratops sets. Never mind, still a good torso to have!

Be well!

Very nice MOC! I could feel the suspense (and impending doom of the poor ol' hunter) just by looking at the vig. You really captured the scene quite well, great job!

One of the intersting questions that has come up about this series is, basically, "what the hell is going on? what is the context for this dino/human interaction?"

I think MOCs like these are going to really define what the value of this set is going to be to both adults and kids. I would bet that most of us wouldn't think twice about it - like, Dinosaurs, and we're there too, what's there to think about!!! - but anyone who invests in this set will have to define the context of this interaction in their own terms, and I think that adds a sweet dimension to the overall appeal of this series and, in particular, what it seems like you're beginning to do with it! Thanks!

What a pleasant surprise it was when I discovered this on the front page today, truly an honor!

Thanks for all the comments everyone! I appreciate all the feedback and kind words, I hope to create some more Dino inspired MOC's in the near future.
