Nightshroud99 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 That is awesome! It totally looks just like Onix. Quote
lorax Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Brilliantly build, I agree with Nightshroud, looks exactly like the Onix. Have you used hinges between all his segmented body parts? Quote

lorax Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 All connected using & That is even cooler, because of the articulation between his segments. Quote
sok117 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 This is AMAZING! Oh my gosh, I'm amazed at how awesome this is! I would love to have this, can't wait to see what you come up with next!  Quote
lisqr Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 That is even cooler, because of the articulation between his segments. The articulation is kind of limited due to all the weight. I've tried to make an omega shape, but hinges just can't hold the weight. Quote
Darkdragon Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Another great Pokemon. I love it. The articulation is kind of limited due to all the weight. I've tried to make an omega shape, but hinges just can't hold the weight. You might want to look into using the ball/socket joints from Bionicle and Hero Factory (and used in many other sets). Quote
LuxorV Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Nicely done, lisqr. Onyx was one of my favourite Pokémon from the firts series, and you captured him (no pun intended) beautifully. Quote
chuckie8646 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 HEHEHEHE! after pikachu Onix is my favorite pokemon of all time. this is a fabulous moc. very nice work! charlie Quote
Cutty Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 (edited) Astounding! You captured the head shape, look and overall "feel" of an Onix perfectly! I'm a bit out of Pocket Monsters right now, but I recognise a good interpretation when I see it. This is very good! Shame he's so useless in the game: spit on him and he dies of moisture... Nevertheless, a truly inspiring creation. Be well! Cutty edit: quick browsing of your BS-gallery makes me like your Houndoom even more! Hey, who would't want a pet rottweiler-devil-chimaira with a built in flamethrower? Hello? It's a no-brainer! Edited November 17, 2011 by Cutty Quote
Stormbringer Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Oh wow! You've nailed Onix's rocky body and head perfectly. Quote
lisqr Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 Updated the first post with show pics. Quote
Zepher Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 (edited) Wow, just wow. Instantly recognizable, and a really nice build! Lots of fun, extremely well executed! The body is so smooth the studs on the top of the head are a little distracting. Maybe tile them? Only nit-pick. Edited November 26, 2011 by Zepher Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) Lisqr: Please marry me. Also, please share some instructions on how to build this! I would love you forever. Edited March 3, 2022 by Henchmen4Hire Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Wow, fantastic pokemon! Very clever building technique! I love the pictures of your city! Quote
Dwellington Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 I've seen a lot of Lego Pokemon, but this is by far the strongest design. If you can, you should totally try to ball-joint him. And then make a Brock minifig or something. Quote
