Miss Kyle Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 (edited) Hello everyone, here's another Gotham City MOC presenting one of my favourite Riot Grrrls - Poison Ivy! I have doubts about its suitability for the CAT 2 contest because of a lot of overhang - but if the judges think it will be okay I'd like to enter with it! Here we go. Pamela Isley was so proud. "Today is the day", she thought, tied back her hair and grabbed her fertilizer (homemade recipe). "Once again I will prove those right who call me 'Poison Ivy'!" "I will finally make the first teeny weeny teeth grow inside the lovely pink blossom of my second breed of my 'dahlia carnivora'! " Carefully she stepped towards her little lab in the corner of her greenhouse. Nobody in Gotham City knew that her first experiment on this vicious plant had gone... a bit wrong. The fertilizer had been too strong, the dahlia grew, grew and grew and got very hungry. But being the plant lover she is, Ivy couldn't set the whole beast on fire to get rid of it. So the decided to repot it... ... and place it in the basement. Gulp. Of course someone found out what was going on in the little run-down greenhouse far outside Gotham City. Someone who wouldn't rest until the mad gardener was put safely behind bars. But well... you shouldn't mess with ladies who grow flesh-devouring plants in their basement. Not even if you're Batman... good luck, old chum. Or should I say "chomp"...? The whole scene And the lab without Ivy. phanstasm Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Great story, and a great piece! I love how the giant vine ties all three sections together: the basement, the lab, and the roof. All the scientific instruments are fun, and you used just the right amount to keep it looking like a green house. Using a translucent flower for Ivy's experiment is really nice. I never knew you could fit teeth on the Atlantis temple seaweed. Cool! Quote
Miss Kyle Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 I never knew you could fit teeth on the Atlantis temple seaweed. Cool! Haha, it was a rather unexpected result, as I planned to build a proper Audrey-esque mouth, but utterly failed :D So I just put teeth everywhere, and it looks perfectly creepy :D Quote
TenorPenny Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 there's a lovely narrative to the piece, even without movement. Well done! Quote
The Penguin Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 I personally the design and don't really see any reason for not letting it to participate in the contest. I'll contact WhiteFang and hear his opinion. Should we agree on that, the topic will be renamed. Great build! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
