rakky Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I don't recall saying that I wanted a negative caricature, I envisage him looking exactly like the baddie in the princess and the frog or Mr Drybone from Anancy and Mr Drybone. Makes sense about the yellow minifig and ones with colour though, especially if he is a human. Now that I think about it wouldn't making a voodoo witch doctor violate TLG'S no religious peopleS policy, is he just called witchdoctor do you think? Quote
Darth Hagrid Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 In fact it feels like Ninjago....4 fangblades and here special stones that together have great power....sounds similar eh ? In fact, it also sounds remarkably similar to Pharaoh's Quest, Atlantis, the first year of Ninjago in addition to the second, the "sliver armor" subplot from KK1, Heroica, the quest for the Kanohi from BIONICLE, and, actually, a large portion of the recent themes that have a plot to speak of. I guess this means LEGO is, perhaps, running out of plot ideas? Quote
Amset-Rah Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Just watched the video on Lego.com, is it just me or might this become on new Ninjago style TV series.....Cartoon Network I believe is planning a different series to run in parallel with Ninjago ? In fact it feels like Ninjago....4 fangblades and here special stones that together have great power....sounds similar eh ? I think it has the makings of a good TV show like Ninjago. They seem to have put a lot of work into this series. Even if they don't, I'm still psyched for this series. Quote
Ardelon Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 (edited) In fact, it also sounds remarkably similar to Pharaoh's Quest, Atlantis, the first year of Ninjago in addition to the second, the "sliver armor" subplot from KK1, Heroica, the quest for the Kanohi from BIONICLE, and, actually, a large portion of the recent themes that have a plot to speak of. I guess this means LEGO is, perhaps, running out of plot ideas? Nah, more like its a winning formula: heroes collect the macguffins, customers collect the sets with the macguffins. As for the zombie set, I like the male zombie better his CM counterpart, because of the empty eyes. That's my one issue with the female zombie, but I'll wait for reviews before I make up my mind on it. Edited April 25, 2012 by Ardelon Quote
IAmWillGibson Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I was sort of hoping the Zombies set wouldn't come with a vehicle, encouraging me to buy more than one of them. But I'm getting at least one. Lady zombies rule [and she actually looks fairly creepy], and anything to disprove all those people who say the Shawn of the Dead set is unmarketable is good by me. Quote
Zeya Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 (edited) I must say she looks pretty good. I'm curious about the bodice extending onto the legs, though. That's a departure from older female figs, like below. I think the torso might look okay with different legs, but using the legs with some other torso might look strange. I think it does serve to make her look longer in the torso and more human-proportioned than most older minifigs. All in all, these figs look great. I think I might end up getting all the sets as well. Previously, I was thinking maybe just the zombie set and the castle. I'm a castle/pirate fan, but I'm more excited about this theme than LotR! Dannylonglegs Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 But I'm getting at least one. Lady zombies rule [and she actually looks fairly creepy] Oh my god yes! She's terrifying! The "lipstick" around her mouth is at best a disturbing sign of insanity, at worst, the blood of those whose brains she's eaten! And those eyes! Freaky! Two differently coloured eyes! One dead and the other infected red! That fig gives me the Heeby-Jeebies! I love it! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Bricknave Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Okay, I almost like these figures. Why are they cyborgs though. Very nonsensical stuff like that is alright for things like Ninjago in my book, but I don't like the idea of 30s cyborgs...good thing I was only planning on updating Johnny Thunder & Co. Yeah, Quinton Steele's torso would be useful for making a revamped Johnny Thunder. Minifig designers must've gathered inspiration from good old Johnny when designing Quinton. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 For the Voodoo Priest just make him with losts of face paint , also did anyone notice that it looks like when you remove the moon stone from the Tomb the graves open ? Quote
Nightshroud99 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Ah I love these figures. Especially the female fig, as she doesn't actually look like so many other female figures in the past. And the leader is extremely slick. Oh and the Zombies set. From what I can see it's great! I want these sets now!! Quote
sok117 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I really like how they gave the female a bad-megablocks scar, females in lego are usually portrayed as girly-girls. Well, minus the 2009 pirate female. Quote

Well, minus the 2009 pirate female. I agree! I'm glad we're finally seeing a woman with some battle scars! She looks like she could really hold her own in a fight, and a far-cry from the Princess' of the castle line (not to mention the damsels in distress featuring in themes from the Agents to Ninjago)! I'm glad Lego's adding diversity to their cast of female characters. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Holmes Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I would buy that without a moment's delay. Me too! I reckon we'll have two zombies and a witch doctor. It looks like the witch doctor will stand in the crypt casting spells to raise those two zombies from each of the graves. I think we'll also get a monster hunter with a vehicle too. Wasn't there a picture a few pages back of a big red truck running into one of the zombies? I'm guestimating that it will be around £40.00. I'm basing this guess on the price of the Lego Batman Funhouse which (I think) was an exclusive set with four minifigs. I might be wrong as this is all speculation Quote
Theo Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I wasn't really interested in the theme until I saw the video and the minifigures presentation). It got me hooked. It has quite an Agatha Christie's atmosphere. Quote
rakky Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 The batman set was a licensed set so this should retail for less, im thinking between 20-30 pounds. Quote

lightningtiger Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 'ghostmind' where did you find this ? The box art looks much better than the pictures we all saw from the toy fairs earlier in the year. Those Zombie heads would be handy for Lego to produce The Winchester ? Perhaps a second wave they could put an inn ? Quote
Odin's son Fred Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Nice!! I think I'll be getting that set...Zombies and graveyard terrain. How can you pass that up? Quote
Darth Hagrid Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 (edited) Well, the new picture has me convinced, there's officially no way I can be without this one. As an added bonus, the zombie figs would look great attacking that Haunted House set we got a picture of a while back... Or any modular, for that matter. Edited April 25, 2012 by Darth Hagrid Quote
tafkatb Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Looks awesome! I'm guessing probably around $34.99? That was the price of the store exclusive Dino set. Though of course I'm hoping for cheaper. Quote
Ubber_Corp Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Is it just me or does the Female Zombie's dress look glow-in-the-dark? Or maybe it's just wishful thinking. @ghostmind: where did you get this picture? Quote
tafkatb Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Amazing as that would be, I think it's just the lighting. Looks like the spider is definitely glow-in-the-dark though! Quote
Holmes Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Amazing! Although I'm a bit disappointed we have another driver and not a New Orleans style voodoo priest. After seeing the box I think it will retail at around £30 I'm so excited about this series! Quote
Nightshroud99 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 That set is pretty nice. Thanks for the picture Ghostmind! Quote
