IAmWillGibson Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I'm so torn on that sticker on the Hearse. I've always been a pro-sticker guy, but that thing is so big. But... it's also sorta badass. So I'm not really sure what I'm going to end up doing. Oh! I just came to the conclusion: I'm gonna get the set [which I always was gonna do anyway] and then bricklink whatever piece it uses for the roof, so I can have a stickered and non-stickered version, to change if and when the mood strikes. LEGO wins. Quote
Algernon Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I'm so in love with the concept of the classy rapier-wielding gentleman dueling with Dracula that I've just got to pick this one up. What a neat design. It looks much better in real life, too. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Hmmm.. not sure if this is the right place to post this, but the monster fighter sets are up for pre-order in The Netherlands (at a nice discount + free shipping too). Brickshop They are expected tot ship June 1. Does anyone know when the release date for them in the UK is? Everything seems so hush hush now and no dates/info seem to be leaked/given anymore Also how come they seem to be releasing them in individual countries with so much time inbetween? Quote
ZO6 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 The eject function on that hearse seems to work pretty well! I've very excited about the coffin in the set, I wasn't aware that the design on it was a print. The print alone just about sells the set, too bad I don't feel the same way about the huge glow in the dark sticker. Still, the sticker is pretty cool, I'll have to debate whether to apply it or not. Quote
Graysmith Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I think the hearse will look great whether you put the sticker on or not. Without the sticker it'll look a bit more classy and "realistic", and with the sticker it'll have a funky hot rod feel to it. Quote
Algernon Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I'm personally going to leave the sticker off, which is unusual since I'm typically fine with stickers. But I just prefer the stylish, realistic look without the zany glow-in-the-dark elements, specifically on this model. I think it'll go much better with the Vampyre castle that way, as well. So glad that reviews are already popping up. Looking forward to seeing more. Quote
Combee Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 'DoctorBrikDady' has done a review of the Vampyre Hearse on YouTube! Wooo! Can't wait to get that hearse!! Quote
Endgame Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Where did he get that? I'm going to my local TRU this weekend to see if Monster Fighters or Ninjago is in - and buy the biggest set out of the two! Quote
Nightshroud99 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Sets are available online at Toysrus.com now. Most of them at least, also some Lord of the Rings. Quote
Endgame Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Sets are available online at Toysrus.com now. Most of them at least, also some Lord of the Rings. Yep, saw that. I don't watch many themes closely, so I didn't know if when they pop up on the website coincides with when they are availible in retailers. I got an annual $300 lego budget, and it's going to monster fighters! Quote
Omicron Squad Leader Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I got an annual $300 lego budget, and it's going to monster fighters! Wow, your parents must really like you. (Assuming you're a school student by the "budget".) Quote
Endgame Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Wow, your parents must really like you. (Assuming you're a school student by the "budget".) Nope, it's my own self-imposed budget. Back when I was about 9, I'd weekly buy huge sets from holiday cash... and that lasted until I realized I was using a year's worth of funds in a month. I don't think I've broken 200 in 5 years! Quote
just2good Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Just ordered the Swamp Monster set off of Toys'R'Us.com. I can't wait 'til it comes! Quote
prateek Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Wow, your parents must really like you. (Assuming you're a school student by the "budget".) What kind of parents did you have? I only got $30 for Lego Quote

I've had to do the same. When I was less fiscally responsible I'd go out and pick up as much LEGO as I could, but now I've learned to save my money for the sets I really want and just let the other ones slide. It is tempting to snatch up a set because of the great pieces or figs, but I've only got 2 part-time jobs to pay for college so I can't really go over $300 annually. So, I'll probably be getting the Vampire Castle from this theme and leaving it at that (even though that Ghost Train looks delicious ). I'd love to pick up some of the other mid-priced sets, particularly the secret laboratory and vampire hearse, but alas my wallet is too skinny as it is. Quote

I personally love the ghost train, and will pick it up over the Vampyre Castle this weekend if it's availibe - and attempt a review! Those glow-in-the-dark shrouds are too good to miss. Quote
Ceroknight Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 The vampire's head glow in the dark eh? Is Lego making for of the Twilight adaptation? Quote
Endgame Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 The ghost train is now availble for shipping on toysrus.com! Quote
Capt. Redblade Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I was already going to pick up the hearse just 'cause vampires, but I now want it even more! Printed coffin, GITD stickers, and the Renfield driver minifig (the box says "Zombie Driver", but I know in my heart of hearts that's Zombie Renfield)... I did not know they could fit so much win into such a small set. Quote
Dharkan Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I think buy the smallest 4 sets and castle but i'll sell the figs from castle, manbats and lady vampire didn't really appeal me (castle surely did, tho.) Now we just need to wait for them to start being sold. :D Quote
Cutty Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 (edited) I didn't read back for a few pages, but there is some intruiging fact on that brickshop webpage: Apparently the new ghost figure will get a promotional polybag mini-set, set number 30201, which is not listed on brickset as of now. Sadly the shop doesn't have a picture of said polybag (shame!!)... Just wanted to point that out! Be well! Cutty edit and p.s.: How's it coming SEVEN people already marked that "Zombies" set as "owned"?! Is it out anywhere early already? Edited May 10, 2012 by Cutty Quote
Omega X Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I don't know much about the features about the sets(which I am using it to decide what sets to buy), so the best thing is to wait for reviews. Quote
Mukaksi Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 edit and p.s.: How's it coming SEVEN people already marked that "Zombies" set as "owned"?! Is it out anywhere early already? Like i said, i bought mine on may 4th in the berlin lego store. When i asked the guy behind the counter he said they were hitting shelves the week before that. I managed to find the time to build it yesterday and i really like the zombies, not to sure on chuck norr- i mean jack mchammer there... Quote
just2good Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 The Vampire Castle set is back on Toys'R'Us.com! It's sadly not listed for shipping, but you could zoom in on the set for better pictures. Now where is that 'Mad Professor and His Monster' set? Quote
Graysmith Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Here are the direct links to the TRU hi-res(-ish) images of the Vampyre Castle. First two are vertically stretched though.. Image 1 Image 2 Image 3 Image 4 Quote
