Don't worry, dear. Seeing all the stuff in the store and having absolutely no money to buy it isn't much fun either. :cry_sad: So yeah, I think I know how you feel.

Maybe sets are released at different times because Lego doesn't have the production capacity to make enough sets of all their themes at the same time to release them everywhere at the same time. Since Star Wars and MF have molds that are pretty different, Lego can make a small amount of each wave and release the Star Wars in Europe and the MF in the US while they are making more sets for a full release. Lego also doesn't have the storage to hold thousands of sets until all of them are made for a global release at the same time.

Exactly... PLUS, I think another reason some stuff isn't turning up in UK yet could be from interference due to the Olympic Games. Is it just Lego, or are other brands not having new stock brought in? Just a thought. It seems a bit far fetched, although I'm certain that at least the CMF8 reveal is delayed because of it.

I'm from Slovenia and Monster Fighters sets are available here, just bought a few including the Zombies set which is superb. Kinda fell in love with this theme, cool figs, nice parts.. definitely looking forward to release of Haunted House!

On the French S@H we have new SW, new Ninjago, but the others, including MF, are missing :cry_sad:

Still, gives some time to get the other theme's sets so my wallets not in pain.

Looking forward to the Vampyre Castle

Those batmen ( ) look really nice

Well, the whole thing is

I ordered mine from the Netherlands through bricklink about 10 days ago and even through the bank holidays they arrived this morning. So if anyone in England wants them quickly just go onto bricklink. But the best part is the total INCLUDING POSTAGE is about the same as LEGOs cost will be when they come out.

@The Joker1: Yeah, I saw those ones from the Netherlands on Bricklink, but I passed on them 'cause I thought it would not be long before they became available at S@H. And now, of course, they're gone (at least, the Vampyre Castles are)...

Hmmm, is a good idea! How much did it cost?

Oh, I see. Is there any point to trust sellers? I`ve never used that web-site before, so it is quite difficult for me to rely on sellers((( Or, I might be wrong...??? :sceptic:

Unless LEGO's plan is to release all the summer sets in the UK after the Olympics you'd think England would be the one country where they'd want to get these sets out early, before the Olympic fever really hits in about a month, month and a half. Even if sports and children's toys are such a wildly different things, the Olympics will no doubt be taking over as far as media, publicity and whatnot. It'd be idiotic of LEGO to release them early July through mid-August.

I would normally agree with you as i am very causcious man. but i took a risk and it worked out fine.

The sets cost just under £100 which according to my guesswork is ok for those sets. (below are my estimations)

The zombies £35

Vampyre hearse £25

The Werewolf £20

The Mummy £10

Sea monster £5

Legos postage cost £4

So the total would be £99 less than £1 cheaper to what i paid. :classic:

I got bored and made this in MS Paint:

Well done.

I'm forcing myself to wait until Autumn to pick up any Monster Fighters. I really love the theme, but in the interest of sticking to my budget I figure I'm better off focusing on some other interests for now and then picking up MF around October (when they're in season!). Looking at all these pictures is making it difficult though... :cry_sad:

That's where mine came from! I don't think anyone here's reviewed the Zombie sets yet.

I was just wondering if mass imports were being interfered with. There's all that merchandising that won't sell after the olympics are over, so maybe they're waiting for all of that to come and go? Who knows. Just a thought that's all.

They'll probably have a festive sale on at that time too! So you might end up thanking yourself :classic:

All I know is that Thor must really like Jack McHammer, seeing as he is using Mjolnir.

And it's a good thing he has the robotic arm so he could actually hold it.

After looking at these sets in the new catalogue I got; I noticed something rather amusing.

In the US there is a radio show called Adventures in Odyssey, one of the character's names is Rodney Rathbone.

In fact when I googled Rodney Rathbone this is what I got: My link

Made me laugh as I listen to the show a lot

Our Rodney Rathbone is most certainly named after Basil Rathbone though, who famously played Sherlock Holmes in the 1930s and 40s and is still considered to be THE Sherlock Holmes of the silver screen. Most of those films were also released by Universal, who as you know made all those classic monster movies.

My Werewolf set arrived yesterday, and I'm having a blast sending him flying from the treetops. Plus the build was satisfying as well. All in all, great introductory set to the theme and I look forward to getting the others.

One little observation that makes me love this set even more: The werewolf's head isn't as big as I feared, so I'm very happy about that. Also based on one of the reviews I saw (I think it was the one here) I thought the tree looked dinky from the front, but in person it looks great, and at an angle it's certainly imposing.

Next on the hit list is either the hearse or the the mummy and swamp creature.

With the new Haunted House coming in September, I think it's safe to say the ghost polybag will be a promo for that month at the LEGO store. Or, it might be a promo for October, just in time for Halloween...

Posted

Could be, because there are 3 ghosts in one of the 10228 pics and there just 2 in the set. Plus, that clock would fit very nicely in haunted house.

Has anybody got ideas, how to MOC a 'base' for the castle, a rock, a hill, maybe with a narrow bridge? I don't want to have the castle stand-alone on the floor. Suggestions and recommendations are very welcome!
