sharky Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 My Werewolf set arrived yesterday, and I'm having a blast sending him flying from the treetops. Plus the build was satisfying as well. All in all, great introductory set to the theme and I look forward to getting the others. One little observation that makes me love this set even more: The werewolf's head isn't as big as I feared, so I'm very happy about that. Also based on one of the reviews I saw (I think it was the one here) I thought the tree looked dinky from the front, but in person it looks great, and at an angle it's certainly imposing. Next on the hit list is either the hearse or the the mummy and swamp creature. That tree will go well alongside the haunted house. Ditto for the zombie graveyard. That hearse will look good parked outside as well. Quote
Amset-Rah Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 That tree will go well alongside the haunted house. Ditto for the zombie graveyard. That hearse will look good parked outside as well. Totally. I actually added one of the old spider web pieces to the lower branch for a creepier look and like I said, it's fun sending minifigures flying from the treetops. In terms of werewolf, though, I still prefer the CMF 4 werewolf, but this one's awesome too. Quote
Thego Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Monster Fighters sets were in store in Argos in the UK today when I popped in. Quote
vriverajr3 Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Does anyone know why monster fighter instructions haven't been put up anywhere yet and sets from after have? I really need instructions to the car that comes with the castle set. I don't have the set, just the car. Quote
K-Nut Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Finally got the Vampyre Castle and must say, it's one of my favorite sets. The playability and design is great! Highly recommended. Quote
Vindicare Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I just really looked at 9465 and looked at the crystal in the set. I must say, that is an AWESOME icon. The best of the bunch. Quote
Artanis I Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I just really looked at 9465 and looked at the crystal in the set. I must say, that is an AWESOME icon. The best of the bunch. Oh, man. That one isn't in the castle set... Quote
ETAV8R Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Saw a few of the sets at Target here in California finally. The train, mummy, werewolf, and scientist were all sharing an endcap with some LOTR sets. I didn't have any money and therefore didn't get any. I doubt they will last through the weekend. Quote
Vindicare Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Anyone know why they do those oddball releases, 9465 in particular? There have been others too...5888, 6857. Quote
Mr_Malfoy Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Anyone know why they do those oddball releases, 9465 in particular? There have been others too...5888, 6857. I would have to guess that perhaps LEGO likes to give people who don't know about the oddball releases a little surprise every now and then. Meanwhile, I'm going to a LEGO store tomorrow, hoping that they have The Crazy Scientist and his Monster and the Vampyre Castle. Quote
TheLegoJoker Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I really like the Monster sets, but I just can't bring myself to buy the lab. I really want the frankenstein monster, but that's about it for that set. Anybody else not feeling this one, or is it just me? Quote
The_Box Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I feel the same way. The Monster in the "new" olive green has to be the best rendition of said figure, when compared to the studios and collectible series versions. The scientist is, in my own opinion, a really awful figure and that along with the fact that I already have the fighters, brings this set on the bottom of my to buy list. Quote

Sets that are exclusive to one retailer or something like that? I suppose TLC gets nice deals out of those, retailers of course are happy to market a set that you can't get anywhere else (except Lego Stores and S@H). Quote
Vindicare Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I built 9462 last night and noticed I had two different spears. One had a flat end and the other was rounded. Little strange. Quote

Holmes Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Don't know if anyone has already put this information up but Monster Fighter sets are now up on the Argos website. I've reserved the hearse and picking it up Monday (I can't wait). No sign of the swamp monster set yet though Quote
Artanis I Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I received a request for the game code from the Werewolf set instructions. Top one is from that set, bottom one is from Vampyre Castle. Quote

What`s that for? For the game? What game?I didn`t know that they have any games to do with Monster fighters Quote
Amset-Rah Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 What`s that for? For the game? What game?I didn`t know that they have any games to do with Monster fighters There's a fun little game on Lego's website where you play as any of the 5 monster fighters in sort of a 3-d angled perspective and you fight some of the monsters, of course, it's just a different monster is released every so often. I think the one available now is the werewolf, and the code is supposed to be some special feature. Quote
Lance Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 That game cries Sonic 3D Blast. Still, it's a good game. I'm really looking forward to The Zombies, will go great with the Haunted House. Quote
just2good Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 That game cries Sonic 3D Blast. Still, it's a good game. So Sonic 3D Blast wasn't a good game? I played the MF game and it's okay. Definitely one of the better games on LEGO.com. Quote
Amset-Rah Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 So Sonic 3D Blast wasn't a good game? I played the MF game and it's okay. Definitely one of the better games on LEGO.com. I haven't played a game on Lego's website since the Adventurers days (Okay, so I let my friend's son play a Star Wars and Ninjago game on it, for all its worth), but this game is a LOT better than what I remember Lego having. And yeah, Sonic 3-D Blast wasn't that great from what I remember, but that's another thread. Quote
Huntleyfx Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Please forgive me if it has been mentioned earlier, but has there been any indication of the release date/ exclusivity of the Zombie Graveyard set? Quote
Vindicare Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Please forgive me if it has been mentioned earlier, but has there been any indication of the release date/ exclusivity of the Zombie Graveyard set? Due out in August. I haven't read anywhere of it's exclusivity... Quote
Sid Sidious Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 The mad scientist set has really grown on me. I remember that when people asked me what I wanted to be in about second grade I would say a mad scientist. I'm going to the Victor Lego store tomorrow, so I might pick it up there. I'll probably do a review of it when my current reviewer's academy review is done. Quote
