People told me this site takes posting of other websites a little more serious than others, but I wanted to know if it is ok to post information about a lego contest, any advice?

Thanks

How do I go abouts doing that?

Once you reach ten posts, you will be able to use the personal message (pm) system.

Contact Staff

I'd PM of one of the administrators, probably Hinckley, Shadows, or Siegfried.

Well, that was your 10th post, so now you can. I think it was locked because you didn't get a mod's approval beforehand. Once you do, however, I'm sure they'll let you re-post it.

Technically - and I am simply offering an explanation courteously - you started a thread to ask a question, and since said question was answered, the thread was locked in accordance with typical forum procedure.

can anyone tell me why this thread got locked? I can't even say thanks to people for replying and I can't PM people.

You posted a topic asking about setting up a contest or posting information about a contest. Since contests must be approved by the staff first, this was the main reason.

The second reason is once you were made aware of this, you asked how to do so, I showed you and there was no reason for the thread to carry on.

If you wood have read the site guidelines as instructed when joining you would have known you can't PM anyone until you have ten posts. Then you could have PM'd me asking why instead of creating another thread.

Now we have another one. :sadnew:

I've merged the topics.

There's no need for people to tell you, it's in the guidelines!

Selling and self promotion: Please don't use Eurobricks as a billboard. You may certainly post links to your site in your signature, but don't join just to advertise your site.

Looking at your ten posts, I'm pretty darn sure you're here mostly to promote your site, which you've already done in your first post. I figure that you then tried to add a link to your sig and found you couldn't... Anyway the way I see it you've already advertised your site and considering the way you've posted over the last month any more would be spamming.

While on the subject, I don't see EB as being any different or more "serious". FBTB has a very similar stance.
