Posted November 21, 201113 yr Well this guy is finished but I need to lightbox and photo-edit so I'll chalk this up for a WIP. I just wanted to post it now to get some opinions on it.
November 21, 201113 yr That's a really good representation of the Tri-Droid. By the looks of it, you even got the size right compared to a mini figure. Oh and welcome to the forums! Edited November 21, 201113 yr by 382nd Legionnaire
November 21, 201113 yr Very nice work here! The color and details are right on and those legs look great! I love whatever those ball parts you used on the joints are, also. Too bad you need a clear stand to prop it up, though...

November 21, 201113 yr AWESOME piece of Seperatist hardware 'Iceman792' and it's a W-I-P eh ? Well, I can wait to see the end result. Brick On 'Iceman792' !
November 21, 201113 yr You've nailed the spindly legs. I love the mostly studless look there with the brick-wide core and tiles and wedge plates on the side. Wouldn't have done it any differently myself. Nice use of the dark blue hats on the joints, too. When Santa brings me some photo editing software the stand will be photo-shopped out Once you've got those final photos done, I'd be more than happy to 'shop them, if you need some help with that.

Good because Santa is primarily bringing me a light-tent and I don't know if I will be able to nail software too. Because as we all know Santa is feeling the adverse effects of this global recession being a small businessman and all. Dang inflation and dimished consumer confidence in the current state of the economy, you diminish Santa's ability to bring holiday joy to the AFOLs good little children.
November 21, 201113 yr That's a really good representation of the Tri-Droid. By the looks of it, you even got the size right compared to a mini figure. Oh and welcome to the forums! The size of the tri-droid is actually quite disputed, though that's partly due to stylistic variations and different fabricated numbers among different 'canon' sources. In any case, a nice MOC. The SNOT sphere is well executed, and the levers around the base of the sphere are a nice touch. Am I correct in identifying this as the version from THE Clone Wars film?
November 21, 201113 yr Fantastic job Iceman792, the scaling is really good and the shaping and detail of the legs is especially good.
November 21, 201113 yr Man, this is beautiful! I tried making a Tri-Droid once, I can understand how hard it is to build one. But I would have never though of these strategies. This is easily the best LEGO Tri-Droid I have seen. Exellent job, you have truly amazed me. EDIT: Oh, and by the way, do you happen to have made instructions? I have a diorama that could use some Sep hardware....I'd give you credit for the design of course. Edited November 21, 201113 yr by Darth Nihilus

November 21, 201113 yr Nice model. I once made a Tri-droid for a contest, but I think yours is more detailed. Good job! P.S. - Could you please reduce the pics size to 800 pixels maximum, as per our Member Guidelines? Thank you.
November 21, 201113 yr Very nice. The SNOT'ed ''head'' piece is well made, and the legs are pretty cool too. When I first saw this, it seemed like the ''feet'' were really small, but after doing some research it appears that they are about the right size. Anyway, good job on this one.
November 21, 201113 yr Author Once you get to 10 posts, you can PM me if you need help. Thank-you so much! I think I'm going to need it. I felt horrible about posting backgrounded shots, so I attempted to jerryrig a backdrop using printer paper and bed sheets this morning hoping to represent the pictures a little bit closer to the real thing. I was pleased that I achieved a white background but the photo was a dark muttled mess. I think I lucked out with these WIP pics because the dark blue actually stands out a bit from the black. (luck I wasn't having with a white backdrop) That's most likely going to be the trick in photographing this one; contrast. I hear light-tents make all the difference though, so until then I'll hold out with my crappy WIP pics and hope nobody judges me for the bad image quality Edited November 21, 201113 yr by Iceman792
November 21, 201113 yr I don't blame you for the bad background I blame you for wanting to build one of my own !! Can you make some more picture's ? Or instructions !!! Yes I would like that
November 22, 201113 yr Nice MOC, the first Tri-Droid that I have seen and you have pulled it off very nicley with minimum studs.
