CorneliusMurdock Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Cronk believes Elgar is stunned and cannot do anything this round. So Elgar switching with Tomas cannot work. Friends may have to stick with battle this round without healing. Cronk ask archer if any horses left in stable or if there is an alarum bell? Or failing either of those, if they have some kind of messenger bird?
Etzel Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 "Is there a town bell or something like that?" "Yes, there is one over at the town hall. But it's over at the town square, and you can't leave the wall. Besides, it's just a small bell, it won't be heard from far away." Cronk believes Elgar is stunned and cannot do anything this round. So Elgar switching with Tomas cannot work. Friends may have to stick with battle this round without healing. Cronk ask archer if any horses left in stable or if there is an alarum bell? Or failing either of those, if they have some kind of messenger bird? "No, Lord Kapriel and his cavalry took all the horses. We do have messenger birds, but surely sir, you know that they don't work that way? You can't tell the birds to fly to Lord Kapriel, they will fly back to their dovecote. We have some birds here that can fly to Eubric and Mermont and some other cities, but that's not where Lord Kapriel is. I think visual communications is the way to go. Why don't you use..." Then the archer took an arrow in his knee and fell down from the wall and broke his neck.
Jedi master Brick Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 "Ye Then the archer took an arrow in his knee and fell down from the wall and broke his neck. "Lets go to the other archer and tell him to go behind cover"
Tamamono Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Generally when your town is on fire you go check it out "That's a good point. Although the archer is probably right; he may think we are the enemies if we're lighting things on fire." Then the archer took an arrow in his knee "Oh no! Now he can't be an adventurer anymore!" "A visual approach, huh? Well, there are no mages here (I've still got a couple levels to go), so we can't send up fireworks or some other hocus-pocus to make him come back. Elgar sending up a rain of arrows won't to much good either, since the enemy uses arrows as well. Maybe we could go to the tomb of Miekhal Lightbringer and pray to make it shine or something?" "Or maybe we could yell at the top of our lungs about how happy we are to welcome orcs to the fort?"
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Cronk prays to the Righteous Light. "Oh great Ennoc, with Ennoc's servant Paladin Lightbringer, Cronk and Cronk's friends beseech thee! Party knows Ennoc is powerful and devoted to followers, so party asks help this day defending followers and holy tomb from enemies. Send Ennoc's paladins back to Tanco so that town may not fall to mercenaries. Um, the end."

When its rays hits the golden flags that are flying upon the battlements the party leader is surrounded by an even stronger shine then his blessing alone gives. It doesn't have any physical effect on the orc though, but he remains standing in the same position like he has seen something that can push his memory in the right place...

Etzel Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 "Archer where is the red flag?" I quickly raise the red flag OOC: I actually remembered this while I was working, an epic face-palm moment "If you don't have any flag of your own, there is one down in the basement of the catapult tower." It will take one round to go get the flag and one more round to raise it on top of the highest tower. Please select who will do this and prepare for the next battle round. OoC: Ah, finally! I was worried I would have to rebuild the tavern on fire. And no, you don't have anything else that can be used as a flag (but you could have had one if you had searched places you have visited earlier).
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 OOC: One question, will those manning the ballista get hit with free hits or only those on the wall fighting them? This tough, nothing ever easy for Cronk... Tomas and Glorfindel, remain at the ballista and prepare to fire. Cronk have to decide which other friend to send.
Tamamono Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (but you could have had one if you had searched places you have visited earlier). OOC: From now on, I'm searching everything.
soccerkid6 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) "Excuse me Leo, but Elgar is lying on the wall stunned Cronk, Leo is injured more than you, so maybe you should send him." Edited December 20, 2011 by soccerkid6

This tough, nothing ever easy for Cronk... Tomas and Glorfindel, remain at the ballista and prepare to fire. Cronk have to decide which other friend to send. Only those on the wall will receive the free hits. Unless they are all knocked out, then the ballista crew need to abandon the siege weapon and fight on the wall.
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 All right. Leo, go get flag. Hurry, Friend! Cronk will hold enemies off for few rounds. Elgar, this round Elgar must stay with Cronk and may get hit a couple times. Lay down in back row. Tomas and Glorfindel, fire Ballista! Cronk will bash Cavalry W1 from back row. Order will be: Cronk Elgar (stunned)

TheBoyWonder Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I raise the Red Flag. Cronk, we will need Tomas. Elgar will get killed soon, you can last a bit longer. We should abandon the Ballista, and fight our hearts out.
Tamamono Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Cronk, we will need Tomas. Elgar will get killed soon, you can last a bit longer. We should abandon the Ballista, and fight our hearts out. "I'll have to agree with you there. We've done quite a bit of damage to the infantry units by now, so I think we should probably move on to the cavalry that's scaling the walls. I think I'll probably use the healing staff on Elgar, but if Cronk has other plans for me, then I'm willing to listen."
soccerkid6 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 "I agree with the others, we shouldn't use the ballista this round, so I will attack Mercenary Cavalry W1 from the front row Unless Cronk wants me to do something else"
TheBoyWonder Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 We are getting enough Free hits as it is. The Ballista is not that helpful anyway. Lets fight to the death! I raise the Red Flag, and pray to Ennoc Kapriel can get here quick!
Tamamono Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 We are getting enough Free hits as it is. The Ballista is not that helpful anyway. Lets fight to the death! "The free hits are the real problem. I'm at less than half health, and I have no armor, so those free hits will take care of me in no time (although we do still have one round before I get knocked out). Luckily, I bought a smoke bomb before we began our quest, so we can use it if things start to get bad." OOC: Etzel, am I allowed to use my smoke bomb and flee, or would that not work in a siege battle?
Etzel Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 OOC: Etzel, am I allowed to use my smoke bomb and flee, or would that not work in a siege battle? If you flee you will fail the quest. Your objective is to defend the town and if you flee the enemy will quickly break through and invade Tanco, plunder and murder its citizens and destroy the Tomb of Miekhal Lightbringer.
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 OOC: Cronk's shield should have absorbed the damage from the free hits. Since he's in the back row, each only deals 4 and the shield's SP just takes care of it. Also is Leo in the battle when he raises the flag as far as free hits are concerned? Cronk think Elgar should regroup with archers. Leo should raise flag. Tomas should heal self before anyone else. Party will abandon the ballista for now and leave remaining infantry for Archers to deal with. So Tomas and Glorfindel will Join Cronk on wall. Friends cannot abandon post, friend Tomas. Party has signed on to defend Tanco, and party will do so or die trying.

I didn't noticed you fought from the back row, I'll fix it. Sir Leo is not in the battle while he raises the flag and will not take any free hits while doing so.
