Etzel Posted January 23, 2012 Author Posted January 23, 2012 The heroes prepare to leave the town but first they pay a visit to the priest of the Lightbringer's tomb. "Hello again, blessed heroes! It's good to see you again. Strange runes you say? No, they aren't that strange, the first one stands for the letter B and the second for a TH sound. I believe the former owner of the shield and sword put those there to mark them as his. Maybe they have a second meaning, but my knowledge of runes aren't that big. Someone from the northern lands might have an answer for that. An artefact in the mountains? Well, who knows? The mountains are not inhabited by anyone, at least not humans, and most people prefer to stay clear of those areas. There are many dangers there; blizzards, landslides, wild animals and worse. I don't think there is any artefact worth that much trouble, but if you want to go there you could take the path going west from the town. It will take you through a narrow pass and then back down towards the forest and the village of Jernel, not far from the southern shore of the island."
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Cronk thanks friend priest. Cronk hopes to meet again some day. If friend Gligan is insistent about visiting mountains that sound like good option. That way if friends find nothing, friends already on way home. Party will take mountain path that priest suggested.
soccerkid6 Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Ahhh.... the mountains. Such clear air is rarely found anywhere else. Anything else you can tell us about this, Elgar?
Etzel Posted January 24, 2012 Author Posted January 24, 2012 The party say farewell to Tanco and the 1st Battalion of Light and Justice and starts to follow the path going west from the town. In the afternoon the path has become quite steep and sometimes goes uncomfortable close to the edge of deep ravines and slopes. When dusk falls the heroes are deep into the mountains with still some distance left to reach the gorge. Do the party wish to continue or make camp for the night?
Jedi master Brick Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 "If we make camp I'l watch over, we just have to keep watch for insan numbers of battle ants"
soccerkid6 Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Might as well camp for the night, especially considering what happened last time
Tamamono Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Might as well camp for the night, especially considering what happened last time "Agreed. Although I would love an opportunity to get to level 15. "
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Party will make camp for the night. Cronk will take first watch. Good night, Cronk's friends!
Etzel Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 The party camp for the night and take turns with the watch. The night is cold and during the night howls and other noises can be heard from different animals, both known and unknown. But whoever makes the noises never approaches the heroes and their camp fire and when dawn break they are ready to continue. After a hour or so, the party is near the pass in the mountains and from there it's only downhill to the village of Jernel. The path is taking a sharp turn to the right, past an old, dead tree. When the party moves closer they can see a bone laying beneath the tree. Who wants it?
soccerkid6 Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Look! A bone, hmmm... I wonder to what it used to belong. Might be useful. I then walk to the bone and pick it up
Etzel Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 Sir Glorfindel picks up the bone and examines it closely, but before he can reach a decision about its type he is interupted by a terrifying howl!
