KimT Posted August 30, 2006 Author Posted August 30, 2006 Awesome work Sne *y* *y* I really like that You've succeeded in putting in a lot of "action" in every pic there's something to look at for a long time. So many well-thought details *wub* *wub* You must have a massive army of those pods by now. Do You keep them assembled or do You take them apart? If You keep them, is it possible that You could post a pic with the entire "Pod Army"? Keep it up! Perhaps a dining hall or quarters or even a training ground could be an idea for Quote
snefroe Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 thanks however, do you know what really happens to that mighty fleet of pods? this: yep, they get smashed into the rocky desert, the get recycled and parts end up in new pods... :-X X-O i am building a pod fleet (just bought about 20 new pods), but getting all the other parts is a bit more difficult :-( i still need to buy the black pods for my black ops i promised Quote
oo7 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Ooo, this looks like a good opportunity to count up all my pods 1st gen robo pod 1st gen wild pod 1st gen aero pod 2 gen arachno pod 3 gen aero pod Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 I wouldn't say I'm an X-Pod fanatic, but I do own 2 black haloween edition X-Pods and I think 2 green ones from the first wave. They're nice parts packs. But what some of you people can do with them is amazing. Sne, that diorama is amazingly cool. Quote
vahkimetru Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Review: Dino Pod Well, I'm currently on vacation, and I thought "Well VM, this is the perfect time to get that Dino Pod you've been wanting!", and after getting some pocket money out, I purchased the pod. It's my first pod since the Arachno Pod in 2005. This is my favorite Pod out of the many I've owned in the past (Aero(number 1), Wild, Black Robo, and Arachno). Now to start my review, the package is a new idea. I think it is very attractive but too easily robbed from. Besides for that the package is durable, and easily reused, The Pod itself is a bit dissapointing. Just a basic clear middle and lime green top andand bottom. The lime green is good, but seeing as the other pods have colored clear middles, I'm sort of, well, not as pleased as I could be. Traveling with the pod is easy. I can take off the limbs of the dinos put them in the pod and slip it into my pocket. Then at the hotel, I can spill out the contents and snap the limbs back on the body. Now for the models themselves. As the most distinguished part of the set. I'll start off with my favorite, the raptor. Raptor: Building this guy was easy, but not <insert that tiresome argument> or too simple. There's not much more to say about building the model except that the quality of the intructions' paper sucks. It rips easily when folded. Why, Lego? Why? Once the raptor was built, I began to play with him like crazy. The articulation is great, but the pin that attaches his legs is attached a bit loose, but otherwise there is no flaw to playing with this model. The Raptor stands sturdily and can be posed in all different ways. 9/10 Horned Dino The build is probably the most enjoyable part of this model. Besides, for the fact that the instructions sucked, he was just so satisfying to build, I wouldn't mind taking him apart again and again just to build him. This Dino looks awesome besides for its wide hips. Its articulaton isn't that great, but this Dino is still worth playing with. 8/10 Roller The build, like the Horned Dino is very fun. I don't see what's to hate about the rollers. Except for the fact that it's hard to stand them up, they are as enjoyable to play with as the other two models. They looks not onyl cool, but cute in an odd way. I with they really could roll... 8/10 Overall: 8.3/10 Quote
xenologer Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Well, we've seen a bunch of pics for 2007 stuff... and I didn't see any mention of X-Pods My local TRU doesn't carry them anymore either... Is the theme over? Quote
xenologer Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 (edited) My thought on the Dino pod was that it had great colors and nice models. (I made a big mean dino-bot that eats the Robo-pod for breakfast) However, the one flaw they should have used normal technic friction pins instead of the 4L lightsaber rod for the hip joints. I absolutely can't stand that saber rod; it has to have the worst quality control of all the new mould pieces. Far too often you will get a rod where the two halves of the mould do not match up, resulting in jagged ends, or rough seams on the sides. This of course plays havoc when you use it in a place like the dino's hip joints, and interferes with legs rotation... EDIT: Below is merged data from a similar X-Pod topic, added for continuity of discussion. -JINZO xenologer Sep 20 2006, 03:31 PM Well, we've seen a bunch of pics for 2007 stuff... and I didn't see any mention of X-Pods My local TRU doesn't carry them anymore either... gylman Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I sure hope not. Besides, what we've seen so far is no doubt only a fraction of what's coming in 2007, probably only the early part of the year. Quote
optimus-convoy Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I think they'll just drop the name "X-pod" and pack next years small sets in the pods. LEGO Creator 4915 Building Vehcile Set ( Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 It'd be a pity if they were through, though I doubt they are yet. I want me some trans neon green lids (fluorescent UV blacklight reactive!) to go with the trans neon green pods. Heck, I want trans neon (earth) orange and the UV reactive light blue as well. They're excellent, inexpensive products to get Lego newbies hooked into buying bigger sets. Sometimes they're TOO minimalistic in their part offerings, but the last wave was pretty decent with neat stuff (1x1 slopes come to mind). At a little more or the same price, the tiny car sets give you more cool parts per dollar. Quote
snefroe Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 if i'm not mistaken we, europeans, had to wait two years before getting a second series, so perhaps we'll see the next series only in 2008. Quote

Asuka Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Wow. Cool MOCs. I am very impressed by all of these different variations. You are providing a good background knowledge of them for us too.... *y* Quote

You are providing a good background knowledge of them for us too.... *y* thanks! i made a book with 1000's of serial numbers for pods, i usually pick a few out of that, unfortunately, I don't have 1000's of pods... :'-( :-X *sing* and ah... the printing of these serials is fairly expensive as well... :-X Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Hmm. Sne's constant pod creations have inspired me. Not for ships, but... *sweet* Quote
