Posted November 23, 201113 yr Hello! I'm back from the dark ages! Starting out fresh, I'm reviewing the new Dino set called Ambush Attack. Set number: 5882 Pieces: 80 + 6 extras Minifigures: 1 + 1 Dino Figure Release date: 2012 (select release in November 2011) Price (USD): $12 ($14 in Toys'R'Us) The box: What's inside: Minifigures: "Challenge accepted" The minifigure has a two sided head. The raptor is made out of rubber, and it's legs/hands/head cannot be moved. In my opinion, those are the set's unique pieces. The jeep: The shrub: The set's extras: The set altogether: Ratings: Minifigures: 8/10 The only minifigure is pretty unique, but for a $12 set, there should of have been at least one other figure. Thankfully, a dino is included. Pieces: 8.5/10 For a $12 set, there is a selection of pieces- vaccines, 1x1 round plates, and even a gun. Also, there are no stickers, and is one printed piece. Price: 7/10 In my opinion, this set should of been $10, but $12 is an okay price. Playability: 6/10 There's a shrub and a jeep. The dino adds a bit of playability, but all you could really play with is the jeep. Overall: 29.5/40 C Thanks for reading my review!
November 23, 201113 yr Thanks for the review. That's cool that there is a printed slope and no stickers, wish the Raptor Chase was like that. I almost got this set instead of Raptor Chase, but glad I decided not to get this one as my first set. It might have led me to disliking the whole theme, the fact that the dino is not posable is a real failure in my mind.

I also was really hoping the raptor was posable like the Rex minifigure from the Toy Story theme.
November 23, 201113 yr Thanks for the review 'just2good', printed parts , TRU mark-up (but what else do we expect from them eh ? ). Neat little set with a cool looking raptor plus the ATV isn't <insert that tiresome argument> at all....which is a huge !
November 24, 201113 yr If ya' get it at your local Lego Store, they're selling it for $9.99. I agree $12.00- $14.00 is a little too much for this set. Also, don't forget to tilt your side vents all the way down or all the way up to use as shields against the Coelophysis! Like the rifle with clip and the ATV is a nice little vehicle. I just got it today at a LEGO store, and it was $12. It's a nice set, though. I guess that it's $12 and not $10 because of the cost of molding the Coelophysis.

Queens Mall Lego Store has 'em for $9.99. I guess it's a good bargain there compared to other stores(smaller shop maybe). S@H does have them for $11.99.
December 14, 201113 yr I think I'm going to pass on this one. While the figure, foliage, and gun look cool, I can't justify that when the new SW sets come out.
