Sandy Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 OOC: I don't remember if this was discussed before, but if a Potion that would normally heal deals Damage to the Undead, does a Phoenix Essence that would normally revive instantly kill instead? OoC: I know some Final Fantasy-games do it that way, but it does not work in this game. It would be too cheap.

Fighting the misfortuned unicorn twice in a row has taken a toll on the party, but in the end they ended up being victorious. In silence Thormanil uses his axe to cut the horn of the once-noble creature, and hands it out to Cinna. Undead Unicorn's Horn - A potent trophy with a twisted nature. The party has now gathered three of the five ingredients needed to restore the Grand Wizardine's soul, as well as the Crystal Chalice where the concoction should be mixed in. They have spent three whole days in Salmanda already. They also still need to find a cure for the stowaway Ziegfried boy before he perishes after two days have passed. Where will the party head next?
Darkdragon Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Cinna stores the horn safely, sheds a silent tear for the rude but noble unicorn. She speaks in hushed tones to the rest of the group, with little emotion (though she tries to be somewhat cheerful for the team, the weight of the mission is draining the joy from her words). "Great job everyone. I was worried, but we managed to take care of this dark deed quickly enough. Bartholomew, we need to get you a magic weapon sometime, but I hope you enjoyed the little break. Now, let's get going to the bog and find that witch!"
swils Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 After wiping the bone dust and ashes off his axes and slinging them at his waist, Thormanil nods, silently agreeing with Cinna. He hoists the lad up onto his shoulders, ready to hike over to the bog.
Darkdragon Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Cinna leads the party out of the menagerie and to the bog as directed the the map and necromancer.
Sandy Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 OoC: Sorry for the delay, been busy busy busy and I have an equally busy weekend ahead. The heroes quietly sneak out of the menagerie, leaving the bones of the now hornless unicorn to be discovered upon the opening of the park. The party heads out of the city through the south gate, and as the sun appears on the horizon they reach the lush, vibrant and stinking bog of Kalakita. ~FOURTH DAY IN SALMANDA~ At the edge of the dense march they are greeted by a vaguely familiar figure. "So we meet again!", the man with the serpent staff says. "Did you ever find that Golden Scorpion Venom we discussed about? I got my businesses in Salmanda done and I now have my purse full of gold ready to be exchanged. Didn't we agree on 1000 gold?" What will the party reply?
Darkdragon Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 "unfortunely we do not have golden scorpion venom we can sell. We are looking for a witch out here that we hope can help us to save this poor boy. He was badly injured by a crab on the beach. "
Sandy Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 "unfortunely we do not have golden scorpion venom we can sell. We are looking for a witch out here that we hope can help us to save this poor boy. He was badly injured by a crab on the beach. " "That is unfortunate indeed. I was already looking forward to it. But yes, you can find the witch Baba in these swamps if you are cunning enough. As you have probably heard, her house is elusive to say the least. As for me, I'm stuck here because the foul wyvern still has not left the spring on the southern end of the bog. I'd pay heftily if someone could remove that pest so I can return home to Kalma Badlands..."
swils Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 (edited) "Well, that could be arranged. Depends on whether or not Thothy here decides to make himself smell all purdy-like. Or how big the wyvern's claws are. One of the two. Heh heh." Edit: OoC: Don't worry about it, Sandy. As much as I hate to admit it myself sometimes, real life commitments must come first! Haha Edited February 3, 2012 by swils
Sandy Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 The party promises to do their best to get rid of the wyvern, since it coincides with their own goals. "I would be most thankful! Listen, navigating Kalakita might be somewhat perplexing, but it might help you if you know that the paths that run across the swamp form a flowery shape, with us standing on the edge of one "petal" and Danab's Fountain being located on the "petal" opposite to us. Do not ask me where Baba's hut is, though. It moves so it can be anywhere within the bog. Good luck, and mind the man-eating flora!" Bidding goodbye to the Cobra Priest, the party enters the Kalakita Bog. They come to a pathway that curves both to the left and the right. Which way will the party proceed to?
