Professor Flitwick Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 [Well, since we don't have anything more to go on, shall we just flip a coin. I don't have one to my name, so Thothwick, if you wouldn't mind?] Thothwick pulls a coin out of his coinpurse. "You'll be making your fortune yet, my friend. Heads right, tails left." Thothwick flips a coin. "Heads. Right, Ms. Cinna?"
Darkdragon Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 "Yes, let us head to the right first." ooc: sorry about the delay.
Sandy Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 "Yes, let us head to the right first." The noises of the bog envelop the party as they step deeper into the wetlands. They have to tread carefully in order to avoid getting their feet soaked. The foliage is so dense that they cannot see very far ahead, so it is anyone's guess where the witch's walking hut lies. Decisively Cinna leads the party to the right, and after a bend in the path they soon come to a fourway crossing. Left, right or straight ahead?
swils Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 "Seems to me, if we go left, we'll be right back where we started. I vote we keep turnin' right. Should keep us followin' the outer edges of the swamp trails."
Sandy Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 "Seems to me, if we go left, we'll be right back where we started. I vote we keep turnin' right. Should keep us followin' the outer edges of the swamp trails." The party turns right upon Thormanil's suggestion. They walk along a semi-circular path and end up in another crossing of paths. Left, right or straight?
Sandy Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 Another long semi-circular path takes the party to yet another crossing, but now they can see a glimmer of water ahead. Will the party go towards the water by turning right or going straight, or walk away from it by turning left?
Darkdragon Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 (edited) We will go straight towards the watery glimmer. Edited February 7, 2012 by darkdragon
Professor Flitwick Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 "I hope this is the Fountain, but I also hope that the Wyvern is out!"
Sandy Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 OoC: Again I can only apologize for the constant delays, but the quest WILL continue tomorrow. Now I have to sleep.
Sandy Posted February 11, 2012 Author Posted February 11, 2012 The party walks towards the water and come to the bank of a pond. It reeks even worse than the jungle, making the heroes gag and hold their noses. A putrid green crust covers the surface. On the far side of the pond they see a rock cliff with a large face of a woman carved into it. A stream gushes out of the relief's mouth. This is no doubt the Fountain of Danab, but the water looks the opposite of healthy. Suddenly a shadow passes over the party, and a screeching sound pierces the air. The party sees a dragonine figure circling above the fountain. Apparently the heroes are too far for the wyvern to have noticed them, so they continue to walk along the bank until they come to another orossing of paths. There they meet the most peculiar sight. A dome-roofed hut walks towards them on two giant chicken legs. The party have unexpectedly run into Baba's hut. The heroes try to attract the witch's attention by waving their hands and shouting, but the hut just keeps a steady pace, walking over them. The frustrated Thormanil dashes after the hut and hits the other leg with his axes. This makes the hut stop. Two glowing riders emerge out of thin air, one a white-clad male knight and the other a woman in red armor. They ride protectively in between the hut and the party. "Who dares to disturb the Great Witch of the Bog?" asks the stern shining knight. "Does it matter, brother?" the woman asks. "They will be dead soon no matter who they are. The mistress does not like to be harassed." Cinna tries to explain that they only want to speak to the witch, but the radiant riders are not in a mood to listen. "You will have to prove your worth in battle, because the only way you will get to the mistress is through us." The knights draw their long swords and the chicken legs scrape the mossy soil, eager to kick the pesty humans away. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! I'd like to knock back a bottle of mead right-quick, but not if it'd leave one of them free to take a swing at us." If all of the enemies have been targeted, Thormanil will drink a Mead from the back row. If one of the enemies remains untargeted, Thormanil will attack it from the front row.

I do the most damage against Bright Day and plan to keep targeting until he is defeated." Battle Order Hoptet Cinna Thothwick Thormanil Bartholomew Cinna: attacking Bright Day with Darkness from back row. Edited February 12, 2012 by darkdragon
Professor Flitwick Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 "I'll attack Red Dawn from the front row with my Sabre!" [i'll heal Cinna and Thormanil from the back row, unless they feel they could take one more hit and would like me to switch.
Brickdoctor Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Considering the high Level of the enemies, Thothwick, I suggest you retrieve your Shuriken so you can attack from the Back Row next Round. Let me target Red Dawn, since my hat is effective against him and Bright Day. I attack Red Dawn from the Back Row. We do have five heroes and four enemies, so we can have two heroes target one enemy if we have to. If not all enemies are targeted once all actions are in, I'll target whichever enemy is not targeted, instead.
swils Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 "Hey Docken, Thothy, hows about you two let me take a swing at Red Dawn instead? It'd give me just a wee bit of breathin' room"

It'd give me just a wee bit of breathin' room" "Ofcourse, Mr. Nihai. I shall instead attack Giant Chicken Leg (Right) from the front row with my Sabre!"
swils Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 "Thanky kindly, Thothy! Now.." he turns his attention to Red Dawn "If you'll go for the other chicken leg, Docken, I'll try to keep this one from healing!" Thormanil will attack Red Dawn from the back row. Revised actions, as I believe they stand: 1. Hopet, heal Cinna & Thormanil from back 2. Cinna, darkness against Bright Day from back 3. Thothwick, attack Giant Chicken Leg (Right) from front 4. Thormanil, attack Red Dawn from back 5. Docken, attack Giant Chicken Leg (Left) from back
Brickdoctor Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Okay. I attack Giant Chicken Leg (Left) from the Back Row.
Sandy Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 OoC: Where did you guys get the idea that Hoptet could heal several people in one turn (aside from rolling a Shield)? It works like that outside of battles because there are no turns then. Cinna's spell of darkness connects with Bright Day, dealing 38 damage at the cost of one ether. Thothwick hits the right-side chicken leg for 19 damage. Thormanil is attacked by Red Dawn and suffers the loss of 7 health. Bartholomew shoots the giant chicken leg on the left for 22 damage. All enemies still remain.
