Brickdoctor Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Wait, scratch that, I'll attack Red Dawn from the Back Row, then attack Giant Chicken Leg (Left) from the Back Row, in case the rest of you don't want to attack the giant leg or want to do something other than target an enemy.

Brickdoctor Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 "Thank you for reviving me, Mr. Docken. I'll attack Giant Chicken Leg (Left) with my Sabre from the back row!" Oh, well, in that case, I attack Red Dawn from the Back Row, then attack Red Dawn from the Back Row again.

Sandy Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Results of Round Nine of the Hut Battle: >Bartholomew vs. Red Dawn - Special Damage >Bartholomew vs. Red Dawn - Hit >Cinna vs. Red Dawn - Critical Hit >Hoptet vs. Giant Chicken Leg (Left) - Aim Thormanil vs. Giant Chicken Leg (Left) - Hit >Thothwick (Chain Whip) vs. Giant Chicken Leg (Left) - Shield (Mug) Trying to turn the tide of the battle again, Red Dawn uses Morning Glory to restore 50 health to the weakened chicken leg. However, Bartholomew's second arrow hits her for 22 damage, and the whack from Cinna's staff finishes the spirit altogether. Hoptet aims his strike at the remaining giant chicken leg, causing 3 damage. Thormanil hits the enemy for a further 22 damage, and Thothwick mugs it for only 12 damage (since he was using his weaker weapon from the back row for some reason) and receives 12 gold for it. With one weak enemy remaining, the rest of the battle will be played out automatically. Enemies: Giant Chicken Leg (Left) Type: Beast Level: 15 Health: 15/150 Special: Chick Kick – Causes 20 damage and stuns the target. As the battle draws to a close, Hoptet summons the Roots of Life to restore everyone back to full health. THE BATTLE IS VICTORIOUS! All party members gain half of a level of experience. A woman with piercing fiery eyes looks out of the opening at the front. "What in damnation?! I've got porridge all over my floor now, thanks to you people! And it will take the whole night for the hut to grow back its feet. Care to give me an explanation to your deeds, or should I just whisk you off to the demon realm for the trouble you've caused me?" The witch demands an answer from the party. What will they reply?
Darkdragon Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 (edited) One Magic Drumstick to Thothwick, One Magic Drumstick to Bartholomew, Bright Armor for Thormanil, and Cinna will take the Aurora Helmet. "We are really sorry about all the damage. We just wanted to talk to you but your guards here attacked us and said we would have to beat them first. We have very sick little boy here, you see, and he is on death's doorstep. In Salamanda, we were told that you are the only person who could help us heal him. We are also hoping you might have some ideas on how we can purify the sacred fountain." Edited February 19, 2012 by darkdragon
Brickdoctor Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Hurrah! Scary Hat is awesome. Thanks for the drumstick, by the way. If I haven't automatically done so already, I consume the Magic Chicken Drumstick, for +5 maximum Health.

In Salamanda, we were told that you are the only person who could help us heal him. We are also hoping you might have some ideas on how we can purify the sacred fountain." "Yes, my dear spirits can be quite enthusiastic... As if I, the eternal witch of the bog, need any protection. Let me look at the boy..." The witch hops out of her hut with surprising elegance. She hovers over Bluto for a while, then smiles thinly. "Yes... The boy's fever has made him very weak indeed. At the brink of death, I'd say. But worry not, Baba has a cure. The question is, are you willing to pay the price?" Baba looks at the heroes with her gleaming owl eyes. "I shall tell you how to restore the boy back to health, as well as how to purify that fountain after you defeat the wyvern, but only if the boy stays with me. I will raise him well, but you must tell his family that they will never see him again. Yes, he will make a fine companion to me... as long as he lasts. These poor mortals... so fragile..." The witch waits for the party's response. Hurrah! Scary Hat is awesome. "I hate braggers", the witch mutters and points her bony finger at Ranger Docken's intimidating hat. She casts a spell that weakens the hat's effect to only affect opponents lower than half of the ranger's level. Party: Bartholomew Docken (played by Brickdoctor) Level 17½ Ranger *scary* Power: 22 Health: 23/28 Gold: 289 Inventory: Mockthril Longbow (WP:5), Dread Hat (enemies lower than half of wearer's level won't attack directly), Scarab Shield (SP:5, unsuitable), 2 Meads, Smoke Bomb, Bedroll, Crystal Chalice Cinna the Dark (played by darkdragon) *Party Leader* Level 15 Mage Power: 20 Defence: 2 Health: 19/19 Ether: 12/19 Gold: 120 Inventory: Nimbus Broomstick (WP:5, ranged), Pongcanis Mage Staff (WP:5), Shadeaux Staff (WP:4), Aurora Helmet (SP:2, null fire), Amethyst (Darkness), Scroll of Sleep, 5 Grand Potions, Tonic, Remedy, Phoenix Essence, 2 Smelling Salts, Bedroll, Shovel, Gold Ore, Golden Scorpion Venom, Undead Unicorn's Horn, Last Wish Powder Thormanil Nihai (played by swils) Level 15½ Barbarian Power: 22 Defence: 3 Health: 22/22 Gold: 45 Inventory: Thundering Shadeaux Axes (WP:6, lightning-elemental), Tongue on a Stick (WP:1, Miss>Aim), Dull Greataxe (WP:3), Sabre (WP:8, not suitable), Bright Armor (SP:3, null darkness), 2 Potions, 2 Meads, Pickaxe, Gold Bar Thothwick (played by Professor Flitwick) Level 11½ Rogue Power: 19 (16 for ranged attacks) Health: 17/22 Gold: 257 Inventory: Sabre (WP:8), Chain Whip (WP:6), Shuriken (WP:5, ranged, retrievable), 2 Venoms, Nostrum, Bedroll, Telescope Hoptet (NPC, controlled by Professor Flitwick) Level 18 Druid Power: 21 Health: 25/25 Ether: 11/19 Gold: 0 Inventory: Quarterstaff (WP:3), Stick (WP:1), Anchor (WP:6, unsuitable), Harpoon (WP:3, ranged, unsuitable), Aquamarine (Water), Nocturne Amorella
Professor Flitwick Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 "Thank you, Ms. Cinna. This shall come in useful; I shall consume the Magic Chicken Drumstick, for +5 maximum Health." [Excuse me, but, we are in need of an ingredient. Do you know where we could acquire Demonic Dust?]
Sandy Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 [Excuse me, but, we are in need of an ingredient. Do you know where we could acquire Demonic Dust?] "Demonic dust is often left behind when a demon is banished from this realm. I can easily summon a demon for you free of charge, but you will have to defeat it yourself. I cannot be bothered to waste my time on trivial errands such as that." The witch then purses her thin lips. "Speaking of trivial errands, have you by any chance seen my broomstick anywhere? It has a mind of its own so it can be anywhere around here. I think I upset it by swiping some ashes with it, so it flew out of the window."
Darkdragon Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 "Thank you for the offer to help us. Yes please summon the demon and we will take care of it. I don't know what to do about Bluto, his parents are going to be very upset and they might even want to kill me for this. I hope not, but this is their little boy! Is this the only arrangement you will accept for healing him?"
Sandy Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 OoC: Sorry, I seem to have missed two items that were dropped from the previous battle. Darkdragon, please deal them as you see best. Grand Potion – Restores 25 health to the target. Phoenix Essence – Revives a fallen ally with full health during a battle. "Is this the only arrangement you will accept for healing him?" "Yes, no questions about it. I do not need gold, I do not seek fame. I am a lonely old witch, I crave for the company of youth. This boy will become my apprentice, he will learn more from me than he would learn from anyone else. He is from a great line of wizards, this is practically his destiny. When the only other option is to send him to his grave, who are you to deny it from him?" The witch then glances at the party wryly. "Are you ready to face the demon yet? Very few people fight a demon voluntarily, so I just want to make sure you are prepared."
Darkdragon Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 I give the Pheonix Eessence to Bartholomew and keep the Grand Potion to replenish the items we used in the battle. Speaking to her teammates, Cinna looks sadly at Bluto. "I don't see any other choice to save him, what do you guys think? His parents will be upset but I think he will be safe here and perhaps this is his destiny. He did stow away on the ship seaming adventure, after all. "
Professor Flitwick Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 "I don't see any other choice to save him, what do you guys think? His parents will be upset but I think he will be safe here and perhaps this is his destiny. He did stow away on the ship seaming adventure, after all. " "Well Ms. Cinna, you could try and offer her your Nimbus broomstick, to replace the one she's lost. That might sway her." [it's a big decision. Let him be alive and well here, away from his family, or let him be with his family as a zombie, no more than a shell of his former self, by using the Last Wish Powder. A tough decision.] "If think we should leave him here, but tell the Ziegfrieds when we return. Ms. Ziegfried should be able to use her connections with the Almagesta to raze a small militia (which the Almagesta already has; you saw how her place was guarded) against this witch, and get young Master Ziegfried back."
Brickdoctor Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Thanks for the Phoenix Essence, Cinna. I whisper to the party, I say we leave him here. Better than becoming undead. We could always try to get him back in battle later.
Sandy Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 "It seems you feel confident in your ability to banish the demon I am about to summon. So be it. Let us begin the ritual!" Baba weaves the forces of the surrounding nature into a cryptic glowing circle in front of the hut. The party members grip their weapons as a hot burst of flames erupt from the summoning circle and form into a female demon accompanied by four lesser fire spirits. "Ah, it feels good to be back!" the demoness purrs, caressing her curvy red body that is covered by nothing but strips of gold. "Come on, boys, let us make love, not war!" PREPARE FOR BATTLE!
