The Foul Wyvern breathes its foul acid on Thormanil, poisoning him badly. Enforced by the lucky effect of a Nostrum, Thothwick throws his envenomed shuriken at the right wing of the wyvern, dealing 17 damage and poisoning it. Cinna is hit for 6 damage by the left-side wing. The encouraged Bartholomew hits the wyvern's body for 46 damage. Hoptet's vivifying roots remove Thormanil's bad status and restore Cinna's health, giving the party a fresh start. The right wyvern wing loses 1 more health due to its poisoning. The wyvern circles around the party, who know all too well that this is just the beginning of a long and cruel battle. swils Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Coughing and gagging, Thormanil tries his best to focus on the wyvern, rather than the overwhelming nausea. "Urghhh, this just ain't my day. But there's nothin' to be done 'cept for going big!" Looking just a bit too green around the gills, Thormanil lets out a roar. Or at least, it would have been a roar, if it didn't sound so much like a groan. He prepares to, yet again, attack the Foul Wyvern from the front row.
Sandy Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 Results of Round Three of the Wyvern Battle: Thormanil vs. Foul Wyvern - Shield (Frenzy) Thothwick vs. Wyvern Wing (Right) Foul Wyvern - Critical Hit/Special Damage >Cinna (Darkness) vs. Wyvern Wing (Left) Foul Wyvern - Miss >Bartholomew vs. Foul Wyvern - Special Damage >Hoptep vs. Foul Wyvern - Critical Hit The badly poisoned Thormanil goes into a frenzy that causes an incredible 92 damage to all enemies due the effects of the encouraged status combined with the lightning element. This attack rips both of the wyvern's wings and sends the drake hurling down into the pond with a mighty splash. The Foul Wyvern is still fighting hard even without its wings. Thothwick gets a critical hit on it, causing 28 damage. Cinna misses. The Foul Wyvern breathes its acid on Bartholomew again, but he is already badly poisoned. Hoptet also scores a good hit on the enemy, dealing 24 damage. Thormanil and Bartholomew both lose another 10 health, bringing them close to getting knocked out. Only the body of the wyvern remains, but the party is greatly weakened. Brickdoctor Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 I attack Foul Wyvern from the Back Row. Thormanil will deal more Damage than I, so heal him, Hoptet. After I'm Knocked Out, then you can decide whether the battle will last long enough to warrant use of a Phoenix Essence.

Brickdoctor Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 He'll have to spend a Turn restoring 10 HP, and that will just be taken away at the end of the same Round, and he'll have wasted a Potion and a Turn on which he could've attacked.

OoC: I had to go back and check for that myself, else I was going to volunteer to take a dive just so I could drop the poison "You're a braver man than I, Docken! I'll do my best to not waste your sacrifice." Thormanil will attack Foul Wyvern from the front row, unless, by some strange chance, Hoptet is unable to heal him, in which case he will spend the turn rigging up an elaborate invention that will trigger when he collapses from the poison. Upon activation, the carefully crafted device will use his own Phoenix Essence on him. Or maybe he'll just attack anyway, and hope for the best.

Accepting his fate, Bartholomew aims carefully at the Foul Wyvern to get a sure shot, dealing only 10 damage. Thormanil gets another hit on the wyvern, again causing 92 damage to the wyvern. Thothwick's attack misses, but Cinna gets a magic burst, enveloping the wyvern in darkness that causes 20 damage to it.
