Sandy Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 Perhaps a Diamond and Amethyst?" The shady man reminds the party that he can only get them one item at a time. He can offer them any gem for 50 gold.
swils Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 (edited) The shady man reminds the party that he can only get them one item at a time. "Technicalities, bah! A Diamond or an Amethyst. Fifty gold sounds reasonable enough to be worth considering. Unless you perhaps know of a rare gemstone that combines the properties of each, heh heh! And while I'm going on about such unlikely things, perhaps you know where to get a pair of boots that can make me feel light as a feather, agile enough to act twice as quickly as a normal man?" Professor Flitwick Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 "Mr. Nihai, I hope you won't consider it brash of me to remind you that we might not have two nights left to spare, if we want to have any chance of reviving Ms. Ziegfried before she passes over."

The man shakes his hooded head. "I'm sorry, I am a black market salesman, not an artefact crafter. I can only bring you items that actually exist. Although, I have heard of an exceedingly rare gem that combines all elements. I just do not know where to get one."

"Oh, no worries Thothy, I've got that in mind. I'd not linger if it would keep us here beyond our required time. Just satisfying my curiosities!" The man shakes his hooded head. "I'm sorry, I am a black market salesman, not an artefact crafter. I can only bring you items that actually exist. Although, I have heard of an exceedingly rare gem that combines all elements. I just do not know where to get one." "Rule 34 of Eubric: If you can think of it, it exists (it's just a matter of finding it). Hah! But of course, I was merely testing the waters. Unfortunately, I believe I need to hang onto my gold for the moment, as we have a hefty order of Remedies to fill."
Brickdoctor Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Out of curiosity, how much would it cost to acquire a chunk of mythril?
swils Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Out of curiosity, how much would it cost to acquire a chunk of mythril? "Oh, good one, Docken!"
Sandy Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 "Now mythril, that is something I can get you. How would 600 gold sound to you?"
Brickdoctor Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Can I get it mailed to my apartment in Eubric? OoC: Sandy, is it two days until we need to leave Salmanda, or two days until we need to be back in Eubric? Or does it take less than a day to get back?
Sandy Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 OoC: Sandy, is it two days until we need to leave Salmanda, or two days until we need to be back in Eubric? Or does it take less than a day to get back? OoC: I don't believe I have said anything about how many days you have left. That's a secret for now. The ship voyage itself back to Eubric will take two weeks.

The ship voyage itself back to Eubric will take two weeks. OoC: Oh, okay. I missed the 'might' in Flitwick's post.Well, I'm not sure if we should risk taking longer, and we'll need the money for Remedies, so I suppose I'll have to pass. Besides, if I bought it, I'd need to borrow 271 Gold from you guys, and I'm probably not going to get that money this Quest to pay it back. (plus a little extra Gold, of course)
Darkdragon Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 "I think if we were to order something tonight, tomorrow night we will be hopefully cleaning the pond, and then we have to come back here to get to the docks, and that would be the two nights. So what i'm saying is that I don't believe ordering something tonight would really slow us down. Just like with the shovel, we didn't wait around for it." "I'd like to order an Opal."
Brickdoctor Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Good point. Actually, could I get an Amethyst? And I don't suppose you'd take, say 400 Gold for Mythril, would you?
Professor Flitwick Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 "I'd like to order an Opal." Actually, could I get an Amethyst? [Woah there folks, I think you can only order one item at a time...] The shady man reminds the party that he can only get them one item at a time. He can offer them any gem for 50 gold. [it doesn't seem like this man can get one item per person.]
Darkdragon Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 "OH you may be right Hoptep. I was thinking one item per person."
Sandy Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 "I'd like to order an Opal." Actually, could I get an Amethyst? And I don't suppose you'd take, say 400 Gold for Mythril, would you? "Like I said, I can only deliver you one item at a time. Which one shall it be? As for the mythril, I could go as low as 400 gold, yes..."
Brickdoctor Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Hey, would it be okay with you guys if I borrowed 71 Gold for Mithril? I'll throw in an extra 25 Gold when I pay you back.

"I'd be happy to oblige, Mr. Docken, that is if Ms. Cinna doesn't mind you being the one to order something from this... black market vendor." Edited March 2, 2012 by Professor Flitwick
Brickdoctor Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 "Of course Mr. Docken, that is if Ms. Cinna doesn't mind you being the one to order something from this... black market vendor." Awesome. And yes, of course, only if Cinna doesn't mind.
swils Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 "Keep in mind that we're going to need 24 Remedies, at a maximum of 20 gold each. I'm sure we could squeeze a bulk discount out of one of the Souk merchants, but we've still gotta assume at least 400 gold, for now."

At 20 Gold per Remedy plus the Mythril, we'd need 880 Gold in total.OoC: Wait a minute, Nurture removes negative effects. Could we get Hoptet to Nurture the fountain, Sandy?
Darkdragon Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 "Bartholomew you can order the mythral if you'd like. Remember you only need 200 gold right now because the other half is paid when you pick up your item. So you might not have to borrow anything if we get lucky."

I'll pay you 50 Gold, too, so you can get an Opal if you find one elsewhere for (what appears to be the standard price of) 100 Gold. I tell the dealer I'll take it. I hand him 200 Gold.

Seems I missed the discount of another 200 gold, too. And that's an interesting thought, perhaps he could cleanse it, though, if he can, maybe we should pack a few extra Elixirs in case the process is especially taxing on his Ether."
