Brickdoctor Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Thank you very much. I'm not sure if my friends have anything else they want to buy, but this is all I need. I talk to the other heroes. So, anything else we need? And would you be interested in splitting the cost of this chalice?
Professor Flitwick Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Thank you very much. I'm not sure if my friends have anything else they want to buy, but this is all I need. I talk to the other heroes. So, anything else we need? And would you be interested in splitting the cost of this chalice? "Well, it all depends on what we're planning do to tonight, Mr. Docken. If we are to face the Wyvern, or the Golden scorpions next, I would quite like to subdue them with the Heady Perfume. If we're staying in this city (for the time being), I am quite content to hold off and purchases, and split the money for the chalice."
Sandy Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 If we are to face the Wyvern, or the Golden scorpions next, I would quite like to subdue them with the Heady Perfume. OoC: A clarification on how the Heady Perfume works is apparently needed. After you use it, no non-humanoid monsters will engage you in battle for the duration of that day/night unless you initiate the battle yourself. Also, the monsters will not get Free Hits, since they are repelled by the scent. However, they can damage you if you attack them directly.
swils Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) "Well of course, Docken! Can't have you shouldering that one yourself." Thormanil passes him 20 coins, then turns to Akbar "Now, my man, I'm a bit strapped right now, but I'm wantin' a Potion or two. I can offer ya 7 gold each. Edited December 13, 2011 by swils
Professor Flitwick Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 "Oh! Yes! Goodness me, nearly forgot!" Thothwick reaches into his coinpurse, and gives 20 gold to Akbar.
Brickdoctor Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Thothwick reaches into his coinpurse, and gives 20 gold to Akbar. I already paid for the Chalice. Don't give Akbar any more money. It's a trap!

Sandy Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 If the party is done with the souk for now, this is the list of places they can choose to go to: During the current Day: *Climb the wall over to the Almagesta's Garden *Revisit the Harbour *Revisit the Dark Alley *Revisit Marmaduc's Menagerie During the following Night: *Return to the Souk *Climb the wall over to the Almagesta's Garden *Revisit the Harbour *Visit Nemeshtar the Necromancer at the Dark Alley *Infiltrate Marmaduc's Menagerie *Go to the Shipwreck Shore *Enter the Kalakita Bog
Brickdoctor Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 I think we should try to complete all the acts that don't involve sneaking, stealing, infiltrating, and other possibly illegal acts, first. I'd hate to have to dodge whatever sort of law enforcement or hired thugs are present in these parts for the rest of the Quest, even if they would be worth XP and loot.

"I feel the same way, Mr. Docken, but I can't think of anything else that wouldn't incur those things upon us. Particularly anything that can be done during the night."

Darkdragon Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 "Well it doesn't look like there is much left we can do during the day. We could wait for night to fall and rescue our new Metasimian friend, or try to get the scorpion and then come back to the city to rescue him and visit the Necromancer's shop. I don't think we will need to do this yet, but before we head to the Bog we should make sure everyone has at least one poison remedy if we can."
Sandy Posted December 15, 2011 Author Posted December 15, 2011 OoC: Soo.... You want to go to the beach, then? I need more decisiveness here, guys!
Darkdragon Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 "Since nobody seems to have any objections. We will now head to the beach to fetch some scorpions!"
swils Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 "Since nobody seems to have any objections. We will now head to the beach to fetch some scorpions!" "To the beach, it is! And we'll for sure be swinging by the market again before we go to the bog. I hope." OOC: Sorry, it's finals week, and a few of my grades are riding the line a bit closer than I'd hoped. I'll be done Friday (well, it'll be Saturday for most, by the time I'm done), but until then, unless I speak up, assume that I agree with darkdragon for any decisions. I'll post for fights and such.
Sandy Posted December 15, 2011 Author Posted December 15, 2011 ~FIRST NIGHT IN SALMANDA~ When the party arrives to the Shipwreck Shore, it is already dark. The first night in this strange land has fallen upon them. The party has already gotten its hands on a crystal chalice, but all the actual ingredients are still missing. Hoping to catch a Golden Scorpion here at the beach, the party starts searching their surroundings. There are much debris from wrecked ships stranded on the beach, earning the place its name, but there is not a creature in sight. Knowing that the scorpion tends to hide, the party must dig the sand to find it. Who knows what else will pop up? The party can only dig on the dark tan tiles that have a visible stud, and only party members who have a shovel can dig. Which coordinate does the party want to dig first?
Professor Flitwick Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 "Oh dear, my dear fellows, this may take a while; we appear to have only one shovel between us. As Ms. Cinna is the owner, I believe she should be the one to decided where to dig."
Sandy Posted December 15, 2011 Author Posted December 15, 2011 "Oh dear, my dear fellows, this may take a while; we appear to have only one shovel between us." OoC: You can always return to the Souk to buy more. I will allow a trip back to the city during this night, but if you return to the beach, it will be day again.

I will allow a trip back to the city during this night, but if you return to the beach, it will be day again. "Hmm... I had a sudden idea, friends. What say we travel back to the souk to buy more shovels? I'd estimate that if we buy one each, and come back, it'll only be tomorrow morning. Perhaps Ms. Cinna might be able to stay and start digging if we all go back?"
Sandy Posted December 15, 2011 Author Posted December 15, 2011 "Perhaps Ms. Cinna might be able to stay and start digging if we all go back?" OoC: Remember that in that case she would have to battle any monsters that she digs up alone.
Darkdragon Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 "Well I think one shovel should do it for now, maybe we'll get lucky. We could split up again and 3 of us stay here to dig while the others go to the sauk but that will use another day and we really have so much to do. What do you all think?"
Darkdragon Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 "Well, in the meantime I will start digging. I will start at position C2."
swils Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 "If worse comes to worst, we can go get another shovel. But hey, we're here, let's get to diggin'!" Thormanil waits and watches as Cinna digs up the first hole
Sandy Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 "Well, in the meantime I will start digging. I will start at position C2." Cinna digs and digs, but finds nothing. Where will she dig next?
