Khorne Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 "So, doc, could you enlighten us on the whereabouts of the jailor? Do you know where he's at? Does he wander through the fortress or does he stay in the lower levels, close to the jail? Speak up, miss, tell us all you know about this." Eric said in a hushed tone. There was a light hint of anger, maybe even rage, in his voice. The whole situation was visibly working on his nerves. "Listen up," he started, adressing the party, "I think it'd be best to find Reno first. If we can locate and free him, he'll be a welcome addition to the party, providing extra manpower we could use when we are going to face Roger. I have no idea where to find him, though, nor do I have a clue on where the jailor could be. That's why we need the doc here to talk." as he uttered the last words, he turned his attention to the frightened professor once again.
JimBee Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 "So you Heroica types are somehow more noble? You work for whoever pays the most! At least I am loyal to my mentor. Besides, you don't seem to have any idea what kind of tyrants you are serving as we speak. The Bonapartes control the waters around Uland, collecting tolls from everyone wishing to do legal business there. They are the ones taking "free" out of the Free Islands, while the Ji Pei have done nothing..." She was right. If the heroes really were what they called themselves, they would do good for free and not for the gold. But did Hybros really care about the good of others? He had never considered himself a "hero", so why start now? "Listen up," he started, adressing the party, "I think it'd be best to find Reno first. If we can locate and free him, he'll be a welcome addition to the party, providing extra manpower we could use when we are going to face Roger. I have no idea where to find him, though, nor do I have a clue on where the jailor could be. That's why we need the doc here to talk." as he uttered the last words, he turned his attention to the frightened professor once again. Seeing Eric getting frustrated, Hybros nodded in agreement. "Yes, I agree... hopefully we can find that warden. I think we should try to take out these cannons, too, buy us some more time by helping out the Bonapartes."
The_Customizer Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Men, she is just a confused person, she has been brain-washed into thinking what she does is "good" we'll convince her later. Lets go!
Sandy Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 I just have a feeling we will be going against a cannon..... "Didn't you hear what I said? You just made the cannons malfunction by destroying the control table! Not that you uncivilized barbarians have any clue as to what I'm talking about..." "So, doc, could you enlighten us on the whereabouts of the jailor? Do you know where he's at? Does he wander through the fortress or does he stay in the lower levels, close to the jail? Speak up, miss, tell us all you know about this." "I believe I saw him resting in that room at the end of this corridor when I last did my rounds. But you'll never beat the jailor, he is one of the strongest pirates in this entire fortress. On the other hand, I'd like to see you try..." Dr. Gioconda's voice was dripping with venom and bitterness. It seemed that in the face of imminent death, she no longer cared what would happen to her.
The_Customizer Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I have a feeling this jailor will be nothing hard to go against. but first let us remove these pirates up ahead.
Khorne Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 "On behalf of myself and my companions here, I thank you for your cooperation" Eric smirked. Gripping Godricsleif tightly, he gestured the party to sneak up on the group of pirates. They'd deal with them first and then try to find the jailor.
Sandy Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 With a mighty roar, Eric leads his group to face the next batch of pirates standing in their way. Dr. Gioconda stays back, looking for a way to flee when her captors are caught in the fight. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Etzel Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 "I would like to put Dr. Gioconda to sleep with my scroll so that she doesn't flee if that is possible. If not, I'll attack the Pirate Tamer from the front row."
Khorne Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 A pinkish lettered fluttered from the air as Eric led the companions into battle. Quickly dismissing it Eric focused on the battle ahead. Wanting to speed things up after the sluggish progress the party had been making, Eric grudgingly decided to hand over one of his precious rum bottles to the Pirate Raider. He wanted a fight as much as anything else, but right now, speed was more of essence. Eric hands the Pirate Raider a bottle of Rum. Battle Order: Eric Ad-Hoh Erdatcath Hybros Christopher Maurice
The_Customizer Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I shall attack the Monkey/Cheetah (?) from the Back Row.
JimBee Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 "I will help Erdathcath by attacking the Cheetah from the front row!" OOC: What kind of cheetahs do you have in Finland?
Fred Fred Burger Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I wil attack pirate raider from the front row.
ADHO15 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I wil attack pirate raider from the front row. "The raider has been given rum to leave the battle. You should select another target. "
Sandy Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 OOC: What kind of cheetahs do you have in Finland? OoC: This kind. I can remove the extra "h" if it bothers you that much.
Sandy Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 OoC: Moving on. Sorry if you don't like my choices for opponents, but the 24 hour time limit is up. I'm actually hoping to conclude this quest by the end of February, but it's up to you guys, of course. Results of Round One of the Mutant & Co Battle: >Eric uses Rum on Pirate Raider >Ad-Hoh (Fire) vs. Pirate Mutant - Special Damage >Erdatcath vs. Naughty Cheetah - Critical Hit Hybros vs. Naughty Cheetah - Critical Hit Christopher vs. Pirate Tamer - Shield (Sentinel) >Maurice uses Scroll of Sleep on Dr. Gioconda Pesky Polly - Free Hit against Eric The battle begins. Erdathcath gets a good hit on Naughty Cheeta, dealing 22 damage. Hybros follows her attack with a swing of his scythe, causing 33 damage and thus slaying the monkey. Christopher takes the Sentinel-position, protecting the party from damage for the next round. Ignoring the pirates, Maurice puts Dr. Gioconda to sleep at the cost of one ether. The scientist will wake up in three rounds. Pesky Polly is not targetted, so it gets a chance to cause 3 damage to Eric. Three enemies remain. The_Customizer Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I shall attack the Pirate Tamer from the Back Row. Hopefully she will die as fast as that cheetah/monkey!
Etzel Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 "Good work against that primate, mates! Seems we are down to only 3 enemies now, that should be doable. I'm all out of Remedies and can't help poor Ad-Hoh, so I'll attack Pirate Tamer from the front row instead."
ADHO15 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 OOC: I can't believe I forgot to send my action in. I assumed I'd done it straight away. Sorry! At least you correctly predicted my move, Sandy. Thanks.
Khorne Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Eric felt somewhat saddened by his loss of a beloved bottle of liquor, but at least he could fully concentrate on the battle now. The mead gave him a great feeling, it made him stronger than before. For a moment, he was able to forget about his problems. He hadn't even felt the parrot's attack. Eagerly he charged at the weird pirate mutant, whose head was shaped like a shell. What kind of pirates were these folks, anyway? Eric attacks Pirate Mutant from the front row, using Godricsleif. Battle Order: Eric Ad-Hoh Erdatcath Hybros Christopher Maurice

Seeing his companion get petrified drives Eric into a bloody frenzy, during which he attacks all enemies. He causes 46 damage to the Pirate Tamer and Pesky Polly, leaving only a tuft of feathers behind, and thanks to the ice-elemental properties of Godricsleif combined with his encouraged status, an incredible 92 damage to the Pirate Mutant. Erdathcath follows swiftly, reducing the mutants health by a further 22 points. Clinging on to his life by a thread, the mutant casts the Curse of the Depths on Hybros as well, petrifying the petite rogue. Christopher's attack misses. The Pirate Tamer, infuriated by the loss of her pets, tries to attack Maurice but gets blocked by the sentinel-stance. Two enemies remain, with two of the heroes incapacitated. Etzel Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 "Bah, our only member with a remedy gets petrified too. Lucky that Eric finally found his fighting skills again. I'm gonna attack the Pirate Mutant from the front row."
The_Customizer Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I shall attack the pirate Tamer, as I think you can pretty much remove the mutant by yourself. This is by far our faster battle yet, at this rate Jolly Roger will be in prison before you can blink an eye!
