JimBee Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Hybros charges at the mutant, but is turned to stone when it uses its special skill. He freezes in place, scythe still raised. "Well this is no fun," he thinks to himself. "I'm sure they can handle the rest though, hehe..."
Khorne Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Eric grinned as he cut through the pirates. The mead coursing through his veins made him strong again, for a moment he felt like an angel dealing death to these miserable creatures. Eager for more, he continued his attack. Eric attacks Pirate Mutant from the front row, using Godricsleif. Battle Order: Eric Maurice Christopher Erdatcath Ad-Hoh Hybros

Maurice is able to get a perfect shot at the Pirate Mutant, bashing him down. Christopher hits the remaining enemy for 20 damage. The Pirate Tamer then retaliates by attacking Erdathcath for 5 damage. Only one weakened enemy remains, so the battle will be played automatically from now. With the group of pirates gone, the party has access to the metallic staircase as well as the room at the end of the corridor. However, Dr. Gioconda has woken up and fled during the battle. The party will have to go on without her involuntary guidance. They will need to make haste, since soon the whole fortress will be aware of the intruders and why they are there.
Etzel Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 "I'll heal Erdathcath back to full health. The loot isn't that interesting to me so I can pass." OoC: Bah, you managed to sneak away the doctor despite my attempts to avoid that. Damn that auto-battle!
JimBee Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Hybros unfreezes, and his scythe, in his continued swing, strikes the ground with a clang. The battle is over. "I sure would like that Bladerang, hehe... and we'd better continue down the hall."
The_Customizer Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Thanks for healing me. I believe we are now on our way to the staircase?
Khorne Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Eric withdraw his blade from the pirate's corpse. He then sheathed it and gathered the loot. There wasn't that much to share, so the division went rather easy. Division of loot: Eric: Bronze Key Ad-Hoh: Grand Potion Hybros: Bananerang Blade "I wouldn't take the stairs yet, Erdathcath. Let's see if Giocondo was right about the jailor being in the room at the end of the corridor." he gestured towards the door and let the party there. "Another thing before we enter. If you want to drink mead or anything else that stimulates, do so now. There'll probably be another battle up ahead." The party will check out the room at the end of the corridor.
Etzel Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 "Good point Eric! I'll drink my bottle of mead but will save my nostrum for later."
JimBee Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 "Right. I'll drink my second round of Mead, Nostrum, and Smelling Salts."
Sandy Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 The room at the end of the corridor contains a fireplace. A hulking figure carrying a great poleaxe is sitting in front of the flames. The light reflects on his intimidating metallic harness. Defiantly the party enters the room, and meets the dreaded jailor who stands up to oppose them. Half-man, half-metal, this pirate is not easily defeated as his fellows. But if the heroes wish to gain entrance to the jail cells, this is the obstacle they have to overcome. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Enemy: Pirate Jailor Type: Humanoid, Mechanic Level: 22 Health: 468/468 Ether: 6/6 Special I: Ethereal Cage – The Jailor spends one ether to trap the target into a magical cage that prevents it from taking an action for the duration of the battle unless the cage is broken by an elemental attack. The caged target will still take damage from all attacks, and if all heroes are caged the quest will fail. Special II: Roundhouse – Deals 11 damage to all opponents. Used only if all ether is depleted. Drops: Jail Key (quest item) Party: Ad-Hoh (played by ADHO15) Level 14 Mage *resistant to magic* Power: 19 Health: 18/18 Ether: 5/18 Gold: 10 Inventory: Rhabdomance Staff (WP:5), Robe of Spell Resistance, Emerald (Wood), Amethyst (Darkness), Ruby (Fire) 3 Potions, 1 Grand Potion, 3 Tonics, 2 Ether Cores, Mead, 2 Rums, Lightning Bomb, Bedroll, Shovel, 1/6 of the Hinckwell Wares, Banana Sir Christopher Daggerfall (Fred Fred Burger) Level 13 Knight Power: 21 Defence: 4 Health: 22/22 Gold: 19 Inventory: Great Sword (WP:7), Mockthril Shield (WP:4), 3 Potions, Grand Potion, Remedy, Mead, 2 Rums, Smoke Bomb, Fire Bomb, Bedroll, Shovel, Pickaxe, Bone, 1/6 of the Hinckwell Wares Erdathcath Madilinas (played by The_Customizer) Level 13 Ranger Power: 18 Health: 21/21 Gold: 92 Inventory: Longbow (WP:5), Helmet (+1 max. health), Snake Eye Charm (protects from petrify), Potion, Grand Potion, 3 Rums, 2 Smoke Bombs, 2 Ice Bombs, Water Bomb, Holy Bomb, Bedroll, Shovel, Pickaxe, Telescope, 1/6 of the Hinckwell Wares Eric (played by Khorne) *Party Leader* Level 16 Barbarian Power: 24 (21 for dual strike) Health: 24/24 Gold: 8 Inventory: Godricsleif (WP:8, ice-elemental), Drengazuli Grom'az (WP:5, dual strike), 2 Rums, Venom, Bedroll, Bone, Bronze Key, 1/6 of the Hinckwell Wares Hybros (played by JimButcher) Level 13½ Rogue *encouraged* *hastened* *lucky* Power: 23 46 (18 36 for ranged weapons, except 15 30 for bladerang) Health: 21/21 Gold: 270 Inventory: Zoot's Reaper (WP:10), Shuriken of Mercutio (WP:5, retrievable), Throwing Knife (WP:5, retrievable), Banana Bladerang (WP:2, damage all, retrievable), Helmet (+1 max. health), 3 Potions, Grand Potion, Remedy, Mead, Nostrum, Smelling Salt, 2 Rums, Smoke Bomb, Shovel, Bone, Bedroll, Skeleton Decoy, 1/6 of the Hinckwell Wares Maurice Ratibor (played by Etzel) Level 12½ Cleric *encouraged* Power: 16 32 Health: 21/21 Ether: 9/16 Gold: 32 Inventory: Diamond Mace (WP:4, light-elemental), Helmet (+1 max. health), Scroll of Sleep, 2 Potions, 2 Tonics, 2 Ether Cores, Venom, Mead, Nostrum, Rum, 1/6 of the Hinckwell Wares Party Leader, choose the order of action. All of you, choose your targets and the row you want to fight in. Also mention if you want to try to flee, heal or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking. Any enemy not targeted will get a Free Hit on the party after everyone have acted.
Etzel Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 OoC: What, we can't bribe this guy with rum? "I think I will attack from the back row, better safe then sorry when facing an enemy of this rank. Besides, since we are all out of Phoenix Essences, healing will be most important during this battle I think."
The_Customizer Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Well, this is going to be an interesting battle. Let us hope that the blessing of the gods are upon us. I shall attack the Jailor from the Back Row.
ADHO15 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 "Thank you for the grand potion, Eric. I hope I will not have to use it" Ad-Hoh says as he places his amethyst atop his staff ready to attack the Pirate Jailor from the back row with Darkness.
Khorne Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 "I need a drink" Eric thought, but sadly he didn't have any mead left. He could certainly use its aid now, facing what was most likely the toughest opponent to date. Eric will attack the Jailor using the Twin Axe from the front row (I'll damage him twice with this, no?) Battle order: Eric Hybros Ad-Hoh Erdatcath Christopher Maurice
Sandy Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 OoC: Khorne, the twin axe can hit two enemies at the same time, it cannot hit one enemy twice. Sorry! I've changed your weapon of choice to the sword. EDIT: Sorry, I messed up. The results have been edited and can be found from the next page.
Etzel Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 "Damn, there came that cage thing! I suggest Erdathcath throws a bomb at Hybros to break the cage, it will only do 5 elemental damage which should be easy to heal. I will attack the Jailor from the back row again."
Sandy Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 "Damn, there came that cage thing! I suggest Erdathcath throws a bomb at Hybros to break the cage, it will only do 5 elemental damage which should be easy to heal." OoC: Throwing a bomb at an ally will affect the whole party.
Khorne Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Eric's blood pumped wildly through his veins. He was focused on the battle at hand. Hopefully, luck would remain his. "Alright, the Knight's Shield will protect us for this turn. I suggest we use this chance to raise our combat effectiveness. Ad-Hoh, could you try to free Hybros with one of your spells? Monk, could you spare that last bottle of mead or nostrum and hand it to me? I'll pay you back the first time an opportunity is given. Christopher, maybe you should take some mead, too? I want this jailor down as soon as possible, before this battle starts dragging on!" Battle Order: Erdathcath attack jailor? Christopher take mead? Ad-Hoh free Hybros? Hybros ?? Maurice give mead or nostrum to Eric? Eric drink mead or nostrum (is this possible? can I drink it the same turn I'm given it?)
Etzel Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 "We will lose so many turns if we are going to give each other stuff during the battle. Besides, I wanted to save my nostrum for the next battle and my mead is already consumed (error in the inventory). I still think a bomb would be the best alternative. We can all take a 5 damage hit without problem and we will get Hybros back without hurting him too much. Then I can heal Eric (from back row) so he can attack from the front row again without risk of getting knocked out in one hit." "Actually, now that we are protected by Christopher's sentinel we should definitely use that and attack. No use spending it trading object. I will not heal Eric but attack the Jailor from the front row."
ADHO15 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 OOC: Who would I need to target to free Hybros from the cage? The jailor, the cage or Hybros?
Etzel Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 OOC: Who would I need to target to free Hybros from the cage? The jailor, the cage or Hybros? Hybros, but then you risk of knocking him out. That's why I'm voting for using a bomb.
Sandy Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 (is this possible? can I drink it the same turn I'm given it?)[/color] OoC: Trading items takes both the giver and the receiver's turns, but nothing stops someone from using a mead on you. Theres's a difference. OOC: Who would I need to target to free Hybros from the cage? The jailor, the cage or Hybros? OoC: Hybros. He will take damage but the cage will be broken - if the spell hits, that is.
Etzel Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 "So, since Christopher's Sentinel will protect all of us against damage, there is no use trying to free Hybros this round. Let's focus on our enemy instead."
ADHO15 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 "So, since Christopher's Sentinel will protect all of us against damage, there is no use trying to free Hybros this round. Let's focus on our enemy instead." "I agree". Ad-Hoh prepares to repeat his attack.
Khorne Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 "So, you're just going to leave Hybros there for this turn?" Eric will attack the jailor from the front row, using Godricsleif. Battle Order: Eric Ad-Hoh Erdathcath Christopher Hybros Maurice
