JimBee Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Eric looked at Hybros' pockets, filled to the brim with gold. "You lucky little rascal. Well done, friend!" he said as he patted the little imp on the back. Hybros looked up at Eric and smiled a little beneath his face cloth. He did have to admit, being a "hero" was quite profitable, and here in front of him lay a chest filled to the brim with more gold. He would surely be investing in more nostrums when he was able to return to the marketplace. "Now let's see... yes, I don't think we've been up that wooden staircase, we'll have to fight those pirates to get through. And those wooden stairs to the right are where we came up from. I agree with Maurice, hehe..."
Etzel Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 "Well then I guess it wouldn't hurt to at least take a peak through the door with the bronze lock on this floor."
JimBee Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 "Oh yes, there is that locked door... let's open it now."
The_Customizer Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Indeed, we should try unlocking every door we can find, now that we have this magical key! Also, how is the gold being divided?
Khorne Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Eric distributed the gold evenly. Every party member got 100 gold pieces. He listened to the proposals of his fellow party members, while taking another sip of rum. "Let's open up this door with the Bronze Key. Maybe there's a prison on the other side somewhere."
ADHO15 Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 "Thank you very much for all that gold, Eric! That certainly was a lot of pirate loot! I assumed there would be no prisoners in that cell seeing as none could be seen through the bars." "I am all for looking through that locked door, but there seemed to be some crates near the pirate gang in the direction that Maurice suggested. There could be something useful to be found in there."
The_Customizer Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Indeed! Thank you for the gold. I agree, looking through more crates would be a good idea.
Sandy Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 The heroes continue to the locked door they had not checked yet. Much to their surprise, it also had a bronze lock just like the door upstairs. Eric used the key they got from the pirate mutant to unlock it, and the heroes proceeded to the room on the other side. There was a lonely crate left in the room, with the word EXPLOSIVES written on it with big red letters. Very carefully the heroes opened the crate, and earned themselves a cavalcade of bombs. Fire Bomb – Causes 5 points of fire-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to fire. Ice Bomb – Causes 5 points of ice-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to ice. Lightning Bomb – Causes 5 points of lightning-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to lightning. Water Bomb - Causes 5 points of water-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to water. Floral Bomb – Causes 5 points of wood-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to wood. Holy Bomb – Causes 5 points of light-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to light. How would these items be divided? Upon sneaking onwards the party saw that they had arrived on the other side of the water-filled cave. There was another crate on the pier, as well as a group of pirates with a Tritech Cannon. They could easily sneak past the pier, but if they approached the crate the pirates on the pier would surely notice them.
Etzel Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 "I don't think it's anything very important in that crate at the pier, I say we try and sneak past the pier."
JimBee Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Hybros shrugs. "I wouldn't mind opening it, we've always found useful things in these crates. In any case there's a stack of crates opposite the pier, so we should open them."
The_Customizer Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Agreed, we can always find more stuff in nearby chests, can we possibly sneak up to it and open it before attacking the pirates?
Sandy Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 Agreed, we can always find more stuff in nearby chests, can we possibly sneak up to it and open it before attacking the pirates? OoC: Like I said, if you try to get to the crate, the pirates will notice you and attack immediately. Remember the "three tile radius" rule for the enemies perception. However, you can always return to the other pier on the right and battle the pirates with the cannon (once you fix it, that is). It would at least be a change of pace...

Sandy Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 Aren't the cannons all disabled? OoC: The big cannons upstairs are, but not the small cannons on the piers.
JimBee Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 OoC: We can still open those other crates, across the hall from the pier, right?
Sandy Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 OoC: We can still open those other crates, across the hall from the pier, right? The party checks out the big stack of crates near the pier, but only find more Tritech equipment and scrap metal.
Etzel Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 OoC: We can still open those other crates, across the hall from the pier, right? OoC: Since Sandy didn't mentioned them I assume it's just empty boxes. "Well, I can fight if that is what we want. Going back to the second pier and repair the cannon sounds tedious and I have no idea if we know how to do that, if we will fight I think we should just attack and drive them in the water!"
The_Customizer Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 I am really aching for a fight, let's get this thing going!
JimBee Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 "Mhmm... I am remembering that the Bonapartes who hired us mentioned that a Mage with magical abilities in the forms of wood or lightning would be useful, and we happen to have one. Now, have we tried directing one of those spells at the cannon? Or could we even somehow load a lightning or wood bomb into the cannon? I would like to try."
Khorne Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Division of loot: Ad-Hoh: Ice bomb Christopher: Fire bomb Eric: Lightning bomb Erdathcath: Water bomb Hybros: Holy bomb Maurice: Floral bomb "Let's check out that crate. I don't care if these bastards spot us or not. I'll take 'em down do the last man" Eric said disdainfully.
Sandy Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 Feeling unstoppable, the party steps onto the pier. The group of pirates at the other end of it notice them immediately, and turn the revolving Tritech Cannon at them. Feeling a sort of déjà vu, the party rushes to meet their opponents. Etzel Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) "I'll attack the Pirate Cannoneer from the front row! Hopefully my special guard will prevent him from firing the cannon." "No wait, I got rum left. I'll give my rum to the Pirate Cannoneer." Edited February 25, 2012 by Etzel
The_Customizer Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Yeah, we should remove the Pirate Cannoneer from the picture. Otherwise we won't last long against the cannon. I shall attack the Pirate Seamage from the Back row.
JimBee Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 "Again...? Maurice, hold your rum, the Cannoneer doesn't look like the rum will affect him!" Hybros charges at the Cannoneer with Zoot's Reaper from the front row.
Etzel Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 "Again...? Maurice, hold your rum, the Cannoneer doesn't look like the rum will affect him!" "Oh, I must have been mistaken. I guess I'll go with my first thought then and attack the Pirate Cannoneer from the front row."
