Beautiful work on the Falcon (and TIE), Doc! WAY better than the official midi and I didn't think that was possible. I absolutely love the details/greebling on the mandibles, among other details. This is one you'll definately have to build "for real"!

Thanks, guys. Here's the second model for Day 22:

It's Midi-scale RZ-1 A-wing! If nothing else, I've taken from this building experience a much increased respect for those who build A-wings. All the curves in this thing are boggling. In the end, at this scale, I just went with straight SNOT, but I'm still not really happy with it. Can't think of another way to do it, though. :sceptic:

The RZ-1 A-wing interceptor was a starfighter designed by the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. One of the fastest mass-produced interceptors in the known galaxy, the A-wing was even faster than the Imperial's TIE Interceptor. Read more...

I think you did a good job with the a-wing. It is a nightmare to figure out how to build the curves. When I was working on mine, I'd tinker, and tinker, change this, change that. Never could quite get it. I like the way you made the gap in the front. That's another one of the difficult things to get.

I think I may have to build this version!

Really?? I love it, it stands as one of the best in this topic for me. Just a small point the tips of the guns are still red .

The Falcon looks quite good from this angle. I'm seeing lots of interesting detailing, and the mandables turned out very nicely. With the underside done in similar fashion, this would be an awesome model i think.

But the A-Wing i like even better, i think you captured the basic shapes of the model very well here!

Excellent work Doc! You must have notched up a lot of hours with LDD to create these, I wouldn't have the patience!

My favourites are as follows:

i) Imperial Shuttle

ii) Slave 1

iii) Millennium Falcon

And a big thankyou for including the LDD files, I'm definitely going to build the Shuttle at some point

Cheers, Robin :classic:

Brickdoctor, first of all, these are all nice, even if some of the guys give you crap for the minifigs. Thanks for doing these.

2nd, for a Lego newb when it comes to computer building, what is LDD and what programs open up the files you have attached? I would love to tinker with some of these and build them myself. Thanks.

It's Lego Digital Designer, you can download it free from the main Lego website: (link here) but it's 140mb!

You should be able to open Doc's files with this after you've download them. Cheers, Robin :classic:

And also don't forget to unlock LDD's full potential in bricks as instructed here.

Day 23:

It's a tree! I debated about what to build today. In the end, I decided to go with this sort of all-purpose tree. I use these for Castle and Heroica MOCs, but the basic design, based on the MMV tree, can be used for a variety of purposes. (I was thinking this would work well in a MINI-scale Endro vignette or diorama)

I don't think any of you really are looking forward to my Miniland Santa Yoda (I'm not, to be honest), and I don't have anything better to finish the calendar, today, so just look for something bigger to finish this off tomorrow.

Are you going to make a picture with all of your creations included, Doc? It would be great to see them all together. Or, you could take images of your creations in the right angles as presented on the official box art, and let your pictures overlap with those, so you have an picture of the box, but instead of the micro vehicles and figures of TLG, you actually put yours in their place. And to complete it, you could change the text on the box, and change the numbers of pieces etc.

And last but not least; merry Christmas Doc'. You really gave us a good time by posting your great creations on a daily basis. I think I can speak for all of us if I say it was really exciting to see what designs you came up with for all the vehicles and figures. Thanks for that.

And also to the others members of Eurobricks; merry Christmas. :sweet:

I'm really not sure yet. I will be doing a big picture together and sharing publicly on flickr, I think.

To finish it all off:

My LDD TIE Collection, including the TIE/in from my forthcoming proper post for the Jedi Community Build.

LXFs:

TIE Advanced x1

TIE/sa Bomber

TIE/in Interceptor

Merry Christmas, everyone! :sweet:

And yes, Fallenangel, I realize the above picture makes evident the problems with the proportions of the TIE x1.

This is really a great choice for a last model. So many great little things about the TIE/in:

Nearly spot-on angles for the panels? Check.

SNOTed pylons? Check.

Interior? Check.

All ten guns (including some NPU with the pistols)? Check.

Darkened sensor array? Check.

Aft hinge? Check.

One should especially note the wonderfully done engine area, with cheese slopes around a steering wheel.:sweet: Though I should add a small note... that small area in the middle of the cheese? I do believe that's a window.:wink: One could simply replace the round plate, stud, and inverted saucer attached to the ring with ones in black, or even remove them, in which case I would also add:

Inclusion of rear mounting point and corresponding armature? Check.

Another small point; as with your x1, I also think you could have included the darker bits visible through the lower half of the windscreen. But the highlights of this model make that nitpick insignificant.

Finally, congratulations on the completion of your Advent calendar!
