Zepher Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 The party travels into town, leaving behind Hans and Sir Poletad, the first of who goes back to sleep, and the second of which hops around shooting his tongue out at passing insects. The group arrives in town, and Felton offers them a choice. "Heroes, I do not think that we have much time, I do not like going to the town. I don't want to draw attention to myself, or, more importantly, to you. You have two options. You may either go to the bar and gamble with a man that I know, or, alternatively, you could go with me to a black market merchant. Either one is your call. We will do them both, the order is all that matters." Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 "Let's see what the bar has to offer first. Disguises on everybody." Quote
UsernameMDM Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 "I'd rather the market. In and out. Seems some may linger at the games." Quote
The Legonater Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 "Aye, scout out the town." Haldor rises and makes breakfast, eager for the coming trip. In a moment of compassion he walks over to the shady rogue Dyric. "Dyric, friend. I know little about you, where did you come from? I understand if past memories have tainted you, but help should not be seeked by anger at your friends. Everyone has had their share of hardship, but there is no fate except what we make for ourselves. The Gods may watch over us, but you have the power you rectify your past." The Legonator, how old is Dyric? Just wondering, as he thought Haldor a 'young man'. That's not really how I think of Haldor, he's meant to be quite clever and experianced. 'there is no fate except what we make for ourselves' - Stolen shamelessly from the Terminator films. Walking with Haldor, I feel odly talkative. Must have been something I ate. I hail from the distant land of Duplovia. My family, as Skrall may tell you, grew up almost noble. We were the royal's bodyguards, and their investigators. We were a family of rogues, and so we were able to use our abilities well. However, this fact was a secret one among the kingdom. When the latest king rose to power, we knew he had anti-rogue sentiments, so we decided not to tell him of our capabilities. When he found out, he had my father, lover and closest friends executed before my very eyes. They sent everyone else I knew- except my brother Eyric, who now stands in his place in the family line as bodyguard to the royals- into my home town, for no apparent reason. Then they burned down the village. The slaughtered all survivors. And again, I was forced to watch every action. Then they mocked me, insulted me, embarrassed me in public. They stripped me of everything but a potion, a bomb, my longsword and the clothes on my back, and exiled me- never to return until I had gained what they called a sence of honour. So I came here, to Eurbrick Freeport. According to my original profile, he's 21, but the more I develop his charecter I'm think he should be at least 10 years older than that. I'm not sure if I'm aloowed to change that, or what However, it could be said his tramatic experiances aged him more than time ever could. Quote
Zepher Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 (edited) "Hey, quiet down. Remember, here you're Rone the army trainer, not some rogue with a hard past. And would we all stop talking about how much we've suffered in the past... I'm sorry, I'm stressed. The town does not agree with me." The heroes enter the tavern, and make their way over to a smug looking man. "Felton tells me you want to gamble a bit?" "The rules are as follows." ~ The betting board contains six squares, each assigned with a different colour but referred to as their corresponding elements. Fire Water Wind Earth Light Darkness ~ Each player places the desired amount of gold on the element or elements they wish to bet on. ~ Three coloured dice are then thrown. ~ The player wins or loses their bet depending on which colours the three dice shows. ~ If the colour the player bets on turns out once in the dice, the player will get their gold back. ~ If the colour shows up twice, the player will win double the amount of bet, and if all three dice show the same colour that the player bet on, triple the amount. ~ If none of the dice show the colour that the player bet on, they lose their gold. "Remember, heroes, to make money on this game you need to bet big." Edited December 18, 2011 by Zepher Quote

Zepher Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 <No, but my number wasn't right either, you should be at 300. As Felton has reminded you, to actually make money in this game you need to bet big and bet on only one element.> Quote
