Waterbrick Down Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Skrall shrugs Dyric off angrily, "Sod! Don't ya see Rone, now not only are we down a cleric, but also our diplomat. Hans! Felton! I'm assumin' the town watch probably got a hold of Haldor and Hoke, if that be the case then I think we should head to one of the factories, preferably one closest to where the Watch could be holdin' 'em." The Legonater Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Skrall shrugs Dyric off angrily, "Sod! Don't ya see Rone, now not only are we down a cleric, but also our diplomat. Hans! Felton! I'm assumin' the town watch probably got a hold of Haldor and Hoke, if that be the case then I think we should head to one of the factories, preferably one closest to where the Watch could be holdin' 'em." Suddenly fully awake, I look around. Blast, you're right! I pull out my chain whip. They had to have done this in the middle of the night. I wonder if we can find footsteps... Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 "From the initial inspection of Fredrick's camp, there ain't goin' to be nothin' we can follow. Our best shot is probably one of the factories today." Quote
Zepher Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 "I hate to tell you this, but we have no way of tracking them down. That prison that you just broke Gregor out of... well, at this point Haddon has a number of political prisoners, and the prisons are scattered all over the mountains. We'll never be able to find whichever one they may or may not be holding Hoke and Jess in. Poor Jess, she's in the same situation she put Hybros. Brrrr. I don't want to think about it. The best thing to do would be to continue to aid the rebels. Perhaps once we defeat the Guard, we'll be able to locate the rest of your party!" "I'll wring that McColt's neck when I find him." Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 OoC: I'm somewhat confused, Jess and Hoke were left at the rebel's camp, but the post says that Haldor and Hoke are missing, now we're back to Jess and Hoke. I believe Jess and Hoke are the appropriate MIA but I wanted to make sure. "Very well, let's move out then, the sooner we take down these factories and the town watch the sooner we get the two of them back. Felton, lead the way." <Sir Poletad, see if you might learn from some of the local amphibian population as to Hoke, the knight's, and Jess, the elf maiden's, current location while we accompany Felton to the factory, take care though we may need your services at a later time.> Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Tesni glared angrily into middle distance, the mess that had greeted their return was not a welcome sight. Sleeping on it had not helped. Why had they sacrificed two for one useless man who now had not even promised his help? "There better be something to hit at the factory." she said, "It is no wonder that those rebels needed our help." Hearing te comment about diplomacy, Tesni grinned. "How about intimidation?" Cysgodion glowed in agreement. Quote
Zepher Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 The heroes trek through the mountains with Felton, feeling a little tired and depressed. "Hello, hello, travelers, Felton! What brings you here?! Did you hear that we caught one of those damn rebels yesterday? There was a tip-off, some anonymous source, put them right in our laps! By the way, Felton, those mercenaries you brought in sure earned our respect after they defeated that ghoul in the factory. Thank god they got rid of it. Though, word on the street is that they may not all be loyal, make sure you keep paying them lots, right? Hahahaha." What will the heroes do? Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 "One reble you say?" Tesni Cariad asked. "You could not find more? We were told there were factions, surely one is too little?" She looked at Felton, he was suspect in her eyes. "No matter, I defer to noble Cronk as to our actions. Should we inspect another factory today Cronk, Guardsman?" Quote
The Legonater Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Should we inspect another factory today Cronk, Guardsman?" I realise you're not asking me, madam, but I do believe we could pay another visit to a factory, and give them one of Mr. Rone's Checkups! See if anyone else needs some proper training, and all that! Quote
Zepher Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 <Are you suggesting that you go visit another factory? You've already chosen your course for the day, sorry. I mean, you could go to another factory, but it won't be much difference, you have to go everywhere sooner or later... > Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 "Caught Bad Rebel, Friend Gaurd say? Friend Guts is well versed in means of getting people to tell much information. Perhaps Friend Felton, Cronk's party should meet this rebel and see what Bad Rebel can tell. Friend Guts has not much had much fun lately. Where is Bad Rebel being held Friend Gaurd?" OoC: I think there is some confusion amongst the ranks, we have already decided to visit the current factory. Quote
Zepher Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 The guard laughs. "The rebel's dead! Fredrick Reich. They burned his camp. You know, it's strange. Whoever turned him in didn't even take the reward! You'd think they would, it was a fair amount. They just told McColt where Fredrick was and didn't say who they were themselves. It's very strange." Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 "Cronk somewhat confused but Cronk glad Bad Rebel pushing up violets. Come on Party, let Cronk and Party go inspect factory. Cronk thank Friend Gaurd for good news and will recommend Friend Gaurd for promotion if Cronk have chance." Quote
Zepher Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 <Before I forget, WBD, you never divi'd up the 100 gold from the Jail Keep.> The guard turns to Skrall Cronk. "What's there to be confused about? We caught Fredrick Reich, just yesterday! A few buddies of mine say they fought him themselves. Hahahaha." Just as the guard is talking, Head of Guard McColt comes out of the factory and clears his throat. The guard snaps to attention. Upon seeing the large group, he takes a moments pause, looking thoroughly confused. His eyes rest on Felton for a few seconds, trying to piece something together. "Hello... hello mercenaries. I would like to thank you for your work the other day. I was just informed this morning that you and Felton had cleared the factory together... forgive me, I think I'm losing my head. There's too much to keep track of with these damn rebels everywhere. Preparing for war is... hard, to say the least. May Oleg protect you, heroes." McColt turns to leave, and then, thinking better of, returns to the heroes. "Here, as a thank you for clearing the factory and saving many guard's lives in the process. A reward of... thirty-five gold is all that I have on me. Being a guard doesn't pay as well as the public seems to think it does." McColt turns again, and seems to nod at the group in general. "Good luck, see you soon, I think." The heroes proceed into the factory. As the last factory seemed to make potions and other restoratives, this one seems to specialize in bombs. Each hero may take one. Military Grade Fire Bomb – Causes 10 points of fire-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to fire. Military Grade Ice Bomb – Causes 10 points of ice-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to ice. Military Grade Lightning Bomb – Causes 10 points of lightning-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to lightning. Military Grade Water Bomb – Causes 10 points of water-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to water. Military Grade Holy Bomb – Causes 10 points of light-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to light. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Skrall watches the unfolding discourse and proceeds with the Party into the factory. "Now before I forget, here's 26 gold for each of ya that I should have split earlier." Skrall quickly picks up a Military Grade Lightning Bomb and places it into his satchel. He then inspects the room ensuring no one can hear them, he whispers to the Party, "Perhaps we could rig a few of these bombs up to blow the factory sky high, or did ya have somethin' else in mind Felton?" Quote
Zepher Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 "Sounds alright to me, but do not forget what we are really here for. These factories are Chaos Factories, whatever military weapons you see them producing are merely a front. The real purpose of these factories is to create Chaos, which will in turn flourish into Chaos Beasts, though the poor factory workers have little idea what they are truly producing." Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 "Ah, now I'm beginnin' to see more of the real picture. Well then let's see if we can find this chaos creatin' equipment and either sabotage it or better yet turn it on reverse." Quote
The Legonater Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Nodding at Skrall's plan, I too take a Military Grade Lightning Bomb. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Tesni's grinned and pocketed a Military Grade Holy Bomb, "Lets find another beastie to squash." A tight control prevented any overt signs of Cysgodion's power, she couldn't tell who could be watching... Quote
Scorpiox Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) Jess was gone, and Hoke with her. Terrible thoughts filled Haldor's head, Hoke, run through and bleeding. Jess, her beautiful eyes cold with death. Haldor didn't know what he'd do if she was dead, if he could even go on living... Haldor cleared his head of the torment and took a Military Grade Fire Bomb. Haldor stood with the others. "So, is there any way we can break these machines? By malfunction or just brute force. Once we're done here we need to get going, Jess could be in trouble. Gods, I hope she's alright..." Edited January 1, 2012 by Scorpiox Quote
Zepher Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) Before the heroes can do anything, guards pour into the room. "You are under arrest. Please come quietly. Surrender your weapons.
