Peppermint_M Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 "I think I like this Orc better than that thug." Tesni whispered. Quote
Scorpiox Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 If we kill Samuel will we lose the 25 troops? "Right, we have seven options: 1. Kill Haddock - We have 40 troops 2. Kill Samuel - We have 5 (or 30, depending on whether we lose the 25) and 3 thick-skin potions 3. Kill neither - We have 25 troops 4. Fake Haddock's death - We have 4o troops plus we have saved the life of another 5. Fake Samuel's death - We have 30 troops and 3 thick-skin potions 6. Fake both their deaths - We have 45 troops and 3 thick-skin potions plus we have saved the life of another 7. Do nothing - We have 25 troops But it is not just about the troops, I personally think that Haddock is telling the truth." Haldor waits while Skrall decides, he doesn't want to kill anybody. But the extra troops might be needed, they could be the life or death of the most beautiful woman in Haldor's world... Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 "Unless you have some bright idea about fakin' one of their deaths Rone, I'm sayin' we don't kill either of 'em, even though I'd love to bash that Samuel's head in, we need those troops." Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 "So we convince them to work together and kill each other after Wren is ousted?" Tesni grinned and gestured to her sword. "I can be very convincing" Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 "Sounds like a plan to me. Haddock! I'm afraid we're goin' to be turnin' down yer offer of killin' Samuel. He may be a bigoted fool, but we need his troops as much as we do yers. Right now, we need ya two to work together, you can settle yer differences after we take care of the witch." Quote
Scorpiox Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 "If we aren't going to kill Samuel, we can still get his 40 troops by faking Haddock's death. Haddock, if you give us something only you would have then we can convince Samuel that you are dead. You could give us a garment for example, and we could dip it in animal blood and give it to Samuel." See! Haldor is the brains of the unit! Quote
The Legonater Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I still think Orcs look very similar. If we could get the head of one- already dead, of course- that would go a long way to 'proving' Haddock's death. Quote
Zepher Posted January 19, 2012 Author Posted January 19, 2012 "I have no interest in faking my death. Samuel must know I'm alive if I'm alive, we both plan to fight in the upcoming battles, how would you expect to 'keep me dead'? And all humans look similar to me, so stop saying all us orcs look the same." Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 "Well then, why don't you both put aside your quarrel and fight Wren, then once this area has been freed and our friends rescued..." Tesni grinned slyly and smoothed the pommel of Cysgodion, "I chop the head off from either of you, for the highest price of course. Sound like a good idea?" Quote
Scorpiox Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 "I accept your decision Haddock, and for the record no-one looks the same. Tesni?!?! I don't understand, we're not mercenaries. You can't 'lop of people's head for the highest bidder', don't be a thug. We're here to save the town and Jess, not murder people for money. If you want to act that way then be gone. We only kill if we have to, to make things better, but not for money. We are all friends here, and I have a great respect for you. But if you are going to start killing innocent people, then it'll be over my dead body." Haldor glares at Tesni breifly, then stops and walks over to her. "Tesni, please, don't turn into what we are trying to destroy." Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Tesni glared back and hissed out of the corner of her mouth, in what little norse she knew and hoped made sense "Hush! Is bluff!" Begging the gods that Haddock did not know the tounge. If that didn't work then Highspeak was her last resort. A dialect few would be familiar with. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Skrall who does not know norse adresses Haldor, "Leave her be mate, she was put on this quest more fer her intimidation factor not, diplomacy." Turning back to Haddock, "Now, then I take it our business is done here, we shall expect yer troops when we commence our attack on that witch's castle. By the way, any ideas on the weaknesses of those sodded chaos beasts her factories have been producin'? I'm sure yer warriors have had to deal with one or two of 'em." Quote

Tesni grinned slyly and smoothed the pommel of Cysgodion, "I chop the head off from either of you, for the highest price of course. Sound like a good idea?" "There's a good lady." Skrall who does not know norse adresses Haldor, "Leave her be mate, she was put on this quest more fer her intimidation factor not, diplomacy." Turning back to Haddock, "Now, then I take it our business is done here, we shall expect yer troops when we commence our attack on that witch's castle. By the way, any ideas on the weaknesses of those sodded chaos beasts her factories have been producin'? I'm sure yer warriors have had to deal with one or two of 'em." "You'll have my troops." Haddock becomes a little uncomfortable on the Chaos Beasts. He grumbles and looks at the ground. "I hate those monsters, the idea of either side using them... but no, I'm afraid, or rather lucky, I guess, that I've never run into them. I am an alchemist, Chaos is something different. Only Wren truly understands it. It is a mixture of many things that I don't wish to delve into - necromancy, magic... and opening rifts that I don't like. Not one bit. But do you must to win, I suppose." Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Addressing Haddock, "Alright then. Group, let's head back to Samuel and break the bad news to him." Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 "I am sure I can persuade him otherwise. If he has a problem." Quote
Zepher Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 The heroes travel back to Samuel. "Ai, I get it, but you're only getting twenty troops from me then. I'll settle things with Haddock myself, when the time comes, until the battles, I will not be seeing you, heroes." Samuel turns back to the training, the heroes return home. At camp Felton greets them and they all settle down quickly... ------ And wake up the next morning. It is the final morning before war will be declared by the Rebels on the town of Haddon. The heroes arise and prepare themselves to complete their final objective: clear the third factory. Quote
The Legonater Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Feeling the adrenaline, I begin singing an ancient Duplovian war song. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Tesni polished Cysgodion and ran the cloth over Cryfder too, just in case. She checked her vials and bottles. "Let us show Wren we mean business." She said, re-filling her bag. Quote
Zepher Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 OoC: I'm taking it that no one wants to wait and we can just get this show on the road? Felton stops outside the doors to a giant factory. The heroes peer around. There are no guards. "The surest sign of impending war. They've abandoned their factories, they're consolidating their forces. We have a long way ahead of us. Follow me, heroes." The party enters the factory. Felton walks over to the anvil and brushes his hand over it, and then walks over to the fire, slips a hand into his pocket, and then seems to think better of it and whips it out to instead warm it at the fire. The flames crackle loudly. Smith Station - Heroes may improve their weapons by 1 WP (bold your action if you would like to do this). Because none of you are experts, whichever weapon you improve may not be used for four rounds of combat after it is improved (the four rounds will carry over ie: 4 1 round fights will all not be able to use the weapons). Waterbrick Down Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Skrall glances at the anvil, he had had experience crafting his first weapon, but a bow was a far cry from forge work. Scorpiox Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Haldor stands in the forge, the fireglow reflecting of his defined Norse features. He was there in gloom, with the voices. They wispered to him, of things to come. He was there in the castle, was Jess there? Could she hear him? But the voices told stories, things were going to happen. But then he returned. "Gah, shall we move on soon, I want to get this over with." Quote
