At the talk of betrayal Tesni growled and Cysgodion flared, a growl of a preadator from before the brothers left their caves. "You will be certain that I shall sort my issue with these arguing milkmaides and overgrown hearth rugs." She spat "They should hope for a swift end at enemy hands over me and my sword." Gripping the hilt of her blade until her knuckles whitened, Tesni took some deep breaths

"Un. Dae. Tri. Pedwar. Pump. Chwech. Saith. Oeth. Naw. Deg" The rage subsided and she looked to Skrall. "Party leader, how should these soldiers go to war?" The coming battle should help her soothe the rage she felt.

Skrall looks around the gathered company, "We shall deal with the spy later, right now the enemy is at hand. I agree with Rone, do we have any information from scouts concernin' the troops on the plains? How many are there, do they have any magic users or foul beasts that accompany them? Haldor, I'm am for your suggestion that we utilize 20 troops, but in our first fight I believe we should have two of the captains accompany us. Also does anyone care for carryin' the Pheonix Smoke? my thought is either myself, Hans, or Felton should bear it as we have the best chance of usin' it should the time come."

OoC: Zepher by 3 waves you refer to 1 battle with different waves of troops coming in at different points in the battle correct? Similar to our first fight of the quest?

"Alright then, good to here we won't be messin' with any Chaos Beasts. Let's move out, we'll be takin' 20 troops and 2 captains with us. Felton if ya wouldn't mind holdin' on to this Pheonix Smoke, I'd be appreciative. Forward ho!" Skrall quickly checks that his equipment is in order and moves out with the Party.

Tesni eyed the troops following, hopefully they would be of a better calibre than their leaders. "Let us finish this swiftly." She called out.

Drawing level with Haldor, who it seemed was often conflicted, she whispered, "If I know my friend Jess and warrior in arms Hoke, they escaped and are fighting their way through to us. Never fear, we are likely to come upon them slaying the enemies on our blind side while we battle foes at hand. They are strong and able fighters. Wren misstepped when she sought to capture them." She clapped him on the shoulder as gently as she could. "Let her find you fighting heroically for her and view your victory with pride." With that she moved ahead, ready to face the battle first.

Haldor smiled at Tesni, and unsheathed his heavy metal rod. He spoke to her in Norse.

"Aye, death or glory, these people are bad, they will be punished. If we die we shall live on in Asgaard, I am glad to fight at your side."

Skrall quickly glances at his party members as they charge the troops on the plain, he grimaces wishing he had a sword or a spear or something as close combat was more than likely inevitable eventually. Raising his crossbow he took aim at Gaurd B from behind his companions, drawing a bead on the man's chest to bring him to a quick end. He glances over at Dyric preparing to throw his knife, "Sod," Skrall thinks to himself, "I guess it had to come to this sooner or later." He shouts over to Felton and Hans, "Ya both cirle around on the left, see if ya can take down some of their troops on their flank. Focus yer attention on the unoccupied troops and watch out fer any stragglers!"

<Sir Poletad, while yer bravery is well admired, I'd suggest ya lay low fer this battle. With this many feet movin' about, yer likely to get crushed.>

RULES FOR WAR

After you flee, if your remaining troops outnumber your enemies’ remaining troops, you have won the battle. The troops you used (not lost but used total) will be subtracted from your total number of troops. Remember the Guards will fight your troops (the number of your troops lost will be done fairly, trust your QM), so your troops will not be as numerous as when you began either.

<Basically, a number of your troops are off fighting other guards (so you'll lose some of them, I have a fair system, don't worry :wink: ) and once you flee, which ever side has the most left over troops has won the battle! >

The battle commences, and for the first time in a long time, the party works almost perfectly. Tesni cracks open her foe's head with ease, and Hans likewise pierces his opponent's chest. Felton dodges his opponents (would heal, but at perfect health) and Skrall, the victorious, stead-fast Skrall, lets loose a volley of arrows, killing not only Guard B, but Guards E and F as well. Dyric is the only member of the party to receive bad luck, and his throwing knife flies off into the battle. Haldor swings his rod and cracks a skull. The heroes are literally flung back by the flow of the battle, after their first round, and the remaining Guards use the oppurtunity to call reinforcements and score a few free hits on the heroes.

Pleased he can now make full effect of his upgraded chain whip, I go and retrieve my knife.

Dyric is the only member of the party to receive bad luck, and his throwing knife flies off into the battle.

Skrall catches his breath from his rapid fire shooting and reloads taking aim at Gaurd C again from the rear of the group. "Hans see if you can keep that other captain that just arrived, busy."

The battles rages, and the heroes do not fair well the second round. Though Tesni easily slices through her target, Hans and Felton both miss, and Skrall is hit by the tip of a blade (-3). Dyric successfully retrieves his knife, dodging through bodies, both alive and dead, and Haldor sustains a gash on his leg, bleeding freely (-4). The heroes are now in the thick of the battle, and the blades, axes, and pikes stabs at them from every side. No hero is Ko'd, but many cling to life only barely. They are horrified to see more guards charge forward.

Skrall racks his mind feverishly for what seems like hours, but only proves to be seconds in battle. At long last he decides upon the safer of the courses of action. Digging through his satchel, Skrall produces his water bomb and lobs it from the back row toward the general vicinity of Gaurds AA, BB, CC, DD, EE, and FF. He shouts over to his companions, "Dyric use that lightning bomb of yer's an' zap that group of gaurds that are going' to be soakin' wet! Haldor see if you can't warm 'em up with yer fire bomb! Hans, Tensi, we're gettin' out of here! Try and mow down some of the regular gaurds and clear us a path. Felton ready that Pheonix Smoke!"

Haldor clambers forward, he stumbles but remains firm. He pops the cap of the fire bomb, then hurls the flaming projectile at Guards AA, BB, CC, DD, EE, and FF, while remaining in the back row.
