Hold on. Is it just me, or has this Wookie hairball been killing off our leaders one-by-one? Surely they cannot all be guilty of treason! Something more is going on here. What if he is the one loyal to Wren? It makes sence. He's been slowly disrupting these operations. Killing off commanders, halting us with his 'glorious displays of honour' and even now, he goes to murder our troops isntead of rescue them.

"McColt is no more a leader of the rebels than any of us are, it be kind of hard to do that in a Town Gaurd's uniform. As to this killin' one by one, Vonnetate's been doin' his job tryin' to root out the spy and he's only had "one" of 'em killed by a mistake. Now unless you've got any other objections Rone, I'm fixin' to do some splittin' with this axe."

OoC: Just to refresh your memory, McColt is the Captain of the Town Gaurd and Vonnetate only killed one of the other rebel leaders because he thought he was a spy. :wink:

Skrall brushes himself off, "We could 'ave won the fight." Skrall angrily strides over and picks up the axe, tugs off McColt's gag, and towers over the captain snarling at him, "Give me one good reason, I shouldn't seperate yer head from yer shoulders right here and now. I've got plenty of new aches and bruises from yer gaurds and killin' ya would ease the pain a little."

McColt's eyes dart back and forth, looking at Felton, then the heroes, then Felton, then the axe.

"Listen to me, you are on the wrong side. Your friends are alive and well, and they're safe. They're serving with me. You have been tricked, the Rebels are not the righteous side. I don't understand all this talk of Wren, I have never met the woman, but Felton has told me--"

"Lies! You liar! Gag him once more! He is a servant of the witch. She is no doubt whispering through him right now. Telling him the words to say. Do not listen, you know her power."

"Listen to me, heroes, you--"

McColt's gag is forced back on him by the rebel, who then whacks McColt's head against the chopping block and renders him unconscious.

"Vonnetate said not to listen to him," grunts the rebel.

"I'm sorry... I'm just worried about Hans. Alone, in the mountains, with Wren about... she wants to divide us, and destroy us all. He is a puppet."

Skrall was still simmering from their loss and he wasn't about to take any backtalk from anyone. Turning to the rebel who had knocked McColt out cold Skrall raised the axe, "Ya leave the man alone, I don't give a sod about what you or that other hairball captain thinks. Ya brought us here to fight a war, and we're goin' to fight it our way hairball or no hairball." With that Skrall suddenly grins and turning to his companions he states, "I think I've just got an idea" and with that he whispers to his companions in a low voice. He momentarily looks up at Felton, "Vonnetate was in the fighting today, how many of his warriors are down for the count right now?"

"You left him with 25 normal soldiers, and 2 captains. You assigned the soldiers, Skrall, so that's how many he has left."

"I know how many I left with him, Felton. My point is how many Pogs remain? We're in a tight spot and I need warriors who can trust their leader, I can't have Vonnetate leadin' the rest of the men if they think he's a cannibal or monster."

"Felton, Wren thrives on chaos. This is what she is creating in her factories and here on the battlefield. What was it like here before she came? Who knows how these 'rebels' worked in normal times?" Tesni pointed to the guard "I would have liked to hear more from him."

Haldor watched the spectacle unfold befroe him, something was wrong. With a shiver down his spine, Haldor asked:

Indeed. We were not made aware of these actions of Hans'. What's going on here?

Skrall looks at his companions and nods to Felton, "I have no pity for a man who has caused us so much pain and has taken our friends to who knows what end. I will not kill him in cold blood but I do not think Vonnetate will have any quams in the manner." With that, Skrall hauls McColt, still gagged, out of his seat and drags him with the rest of the Party to go find Vonnetate, but he will speak with the Pog before handing McColt over.

The heroes begin to travel towards Vonnetate's forces, with McColt on Skrall's shoulder. They trek through the mountains, and snow begins to blow.

Suddenly, they come to a small plateau. They can see far off, down to the town of Haddon, where the people they've been fighting for, or against, bustle. Suddenly, three dark figures appear to their left, trekking down a mountain to the plateau. The heroes cannot take cover, but that does not matter, for just as the heroes notice the figure a small black shape lifts off from one of the figure's shoulders and flies towards the heroes. It is Vipera.

<Hail, Skrall. Your friends are returned.>

Skrall relays the message to the others just as Sir Poletad hops up.

Hans jogs up to meet the heroes, and they all watch as the three figures, their lost friends, trudge for them.

Hoke...

Jess...

and Felton...

The party cries out in shock as they see Felton approach in a full Guard's garb. Suddenly, the Rebel Felton with the party cries out and charges forward, taking out his rapier as he does so. The Guard Felton does the same. They hold each other at sword point. The heroes do not have the time for a tearful greeting.

"You... copy! What are you? Are you the creation of Wren?!"

"I hadn't thought of that. But clearly, you have. Is that because you are her's?"

"No, no, you are her's. She's working with the guard, everyone knows it. You have been misleading Hoke and Jess."

"Not true. I don't have any need to mislead Hoke and Jess, they can see what is right, as will the other heroes. As soon as it becomes clear that the Guards are good, and Wren is working with the Rebels, you'll be a goner." Guard Felton raises his voice. "You hear that Wren?! I don't want to talk to your puppet. Your game is up. You're clever, I cannot deny you that, but these heroes will be able to see for themselves that the guards are good and I'm the real Felton."

"No, no, you can talk as cleverly as you like, but these heroes know a good cause when they see one. The factory workers that her Chaos Beasts killed... those factories were run by guards. The rebels are fighting for freedom."

"Vonnetate is not some righteous leader. The heroes are smart enough to see that. And I hope they will not disrespect me, the real Felton, by thinking that I would side with Vonnetate. I am not that stupid. He is clearly in the wrong. That's why she needed a copy of me! To trick the heroes. She knew that the real Felton would catch on too quickly and bring the heroes with him when he went to the guard! McColt is clearly good. Where is he?!"

McColt slides off Skrall's shoulder, shakily getting to his feet.

"Oh, good, heroes, here are your friends... they can explain all. My head... Felton... Felton... the reports about the two Feltons... I've... oh, we're all here."

Two horns sound in the distance. All the heroes and their companions look to the air as Vipera rises to get a better look.

"Those are my horns. My men are preparing for a final stand... those rebels will not cut their loses." McColt turns to the heroes. "You must pick a side. I respect you all, and I understand your confusion... especially these two Feltons. I am no master in witchcraft, and I understand the fear you must feel, but we will deal with them after the battle. For now, you must pick a side to fight on. Either the Rebels or the Guards. I will respect your choice either way, though I will fight with my men. I hope it has become apparent to you which side is the side of good." McColt then turns to the Feltons. "Put down your swords and fight with your sides, men. If the Felton I have been dealing with is acting like the real Felton, be he the real Felton or not... my head hurts. Curse this witchcraft. Both of you are alike, and since I know one of you, I know you'll both be reasonable enough to wait for your fight until this war is over."

"I will fight at your side, heroes."

Hans looks at the Feltons, uneasily, and then turns to the heroes.

"I'm apparently not a good judge of character. I'll stand by your side, heroes."

"I must fight alongside the guards. I know you may have been tricked, but I know the side I must side with to remain standing against Wren."

Rebel Felton looks ready to retort, but McColt holds up a hand.

"I will say it once more, you must be confused. Confer, trade notes, pick a side. On my honor, I will allow you to go free, either by my side to protect the town, or to the Rebels to assist in destroying it. I can't hold it against you either way. I don't know what I would do."

"Helloooooo heroes. Thought I'd forgotten you?! We haven't talked in far too long! Good luck dears, you'll be seeing me either way shortly, if you live, of course."

What will the heroes do?

"I side with the guards. I never trusted you False One, I do not agree with the Hearth Rug, a real honourless creature he is. I am sorry for the losses I inflicted, conflicting information and chaos confirms the gray of life."

Tesni bowed her head, hand clasped to the hilt of Cysgodion, point down at the ground. She was restive but ready to make a move should anyone seek battle.

"Well if this ain't a big happy reunion. Ablesword, Jess glad to see yer all in one piece and you too Hans and Sir Poletad. I'd offer more hospitality, but as ya can see we seem to be in quite a condundrum.

Anyways, the cat's now out of the bag. We were just on our way to take Vonnetate as a hostage anyways as a parlaying gift fer the guards. Chaps if no one else is opposed, we're joinin' up with the guards, beside if this here smartly uniformed Felton is really working for Wren, then I'm in for settlin' with the winnin' side as it were. If ya can't beat 'em join 'em." With that Skrall unshoulders his crossbow and steps to the side of the guards. "I'll wait fer the rest of you to speak yer peace, but my mind is decided."

In his mind Skrall thinks to himself, hoping that Wren could hear him, "Nice to hear from ya again, young lass. I'm sure ya've been enjoyin' yer view of the battles from the peanut gallery. We'll be seein' each other real soon, I ensure ya."

I step towards Rebel Felton.

We've been lied to and betrayed this whole time. Constantly. You rebels are a dieing movement. You can't even trust each other. Why should we trust you? This is a losing battle. You can't win it, with or without our help. Why bother try? Why sacrifice lives carelessly? These deaths are on your hands. You're a murderer, a liar, and a jaywalker theif. You don't have to continue this bloodshed. Just know if you do, I won't be fighting with you.

I give a short nod to the reunited Haldor and Jess, then take my place beside Skrall, Chain Whip held in a non-assuming pose.

I'm fighting with the guards. And that's that.

Shortly, I wonder what would happen if some heroes were to side with the Rebels. That'd be an interesting battle.

Haldor walks forward, and his eyes light up as he sees the most beautiful woman in the world. 'Find The Colour' by Feeder plays in the background as he embraces his thought lost love.

"I thought I had losts you, I thought you were dying, but we are together. I love you"

But then Haldor disengages, and looks towards Felton, both of him. After taking in the information he stands by McColt.

"This has all been a lie, a trick. Wren has been maniplulating us, but I will not stand for it. This puppet was trying to convince us to side with the rebels, who I now know to be the enemy. Vonnetate, he was the bad one. Now I stand with the real Felton. Jess, stand with me please, for I only wish to protect you, my shining star." :wub:

Skrall was pondering trying to understand the situation, "Tensi, yer intimidation may be in need in a moment." Skrall turns to the two Feltons, "Now wait a moment, I may not be the sharpest frog on the lily pad <no offense Sir Poletad> but I think we're all fallin' for the witches hocus pocus. Now both of ya want to see Wren stopped right? That's why we're fightin' this war right? Then what's stoppin' us from workin' together to put a stop to her?"

Skrall was pondering trying to understand the situation, "Tensi, yer intimidation may be in need in a moment." Skrall turns to the two Feltons, "Now wait a moment, I may not be the sharpest frog on the lily pad <no offense Sir Poletad> but I think we're all fallin' for the witches hocus pocus. Now both of ya want to see Wren stopped right? That's why we're fightin' this war right? Then what's stoppin' us from workin' together to put a stop to her?"

"Technically, this war was coming either way. You just all got tangled up in it for the witch's sake."

"We have agreed to fight in this final battle and then we'll sort out which one of us you should trust."

"Both I and this impostor are acting like me. I will prove to you when this battle is over that I am the true Felton, but for the time being, I am sensible and he is pretending to be sensible, to mimic me, and we know that we must put aside our differences until this final battle has been fought."

Stang. This is going to be a three sided battle, isn't? You've got something coming.

The heroes all step to the guard's side, and Hans and Rebel Felton follow suit. They then follow McColt through the mountains and arrive in the middle of a battle. It is clear the Vonnetate never expected to win the other battles, and had saved a number of his own Pogs for this final assault. The guards do their best to fight the Pogs... but there is still a massive amount of Pogs for the heroes to deal with.
